Author's Note
Before anything else, I want to thank you for choosing to read my book. That means a lot to me, and I hope the story manages to touch you in some way. But I need to be honest: you might find some mistakes in the English translation. I sincerely apologize for that, in case something doesn't sound natural or causes any confusion.
Portuguese is my first language, and English... well, let's say it's not my strong suit. I'm not very proficient or fluent in it, and that limited me quite a bit. To bring this story to you, I used artificial intelligence to help with the translation. It was the best resource I had at hand, but I know it's not perfect and some slips might have gotten through.
Writing this book in Portuguese was something I did with a lot of care and dedication. I wanted to share this journey with readers in other languages, and the English translation was my attempt to make that happen. Even if the result has its flaws, my wish is that the spirit of the story still reaches you.
So, I ask for a bit of patience and understanding. If you can look past the possible mistakes, I hope you find something special in the pages I wrote. Thank you for being here and for giving my voice a chance!

Beneath the tremulous shimmer of a purple liquid, the world seemed to pause, suspended in a moment that revealed nothing. Light trickled down the walls, and shadows writhed uneasily, as though privy to secrets still hidden from my sight. My bare feet grazed cold, jagged stones, slicing into my skin without a sound. The thick air bore the tang of rusted metal—an elusive scent that clawed at the edges of my mind, like a memory borrowed from someone else.
—"Where could they be?"—the thought slipped out, barely a murmur.
—"She must be turning the world upside down searching for me."
Deep within, I knew it made no difference. Her presence or absence left the void unchanged. The fall hadn't shattered me. Fear? Rage? Relief? None of it lingered. I rose deliberately, my gaze climbing the obsidian cliff. Above, the sky gaped—a starless, moonless abyss, as if this place had been severed from the fabric of time.
The cave stared back, mute, issuing a silent dare. I shifted my eyes to the purple pool. The water stirred of its own accord, pulsing with life. Something rose from its depths—a summons I felt reverberating in my bones.
I drew a deep breath. My first step rang out, crisp and hollow, piercing the stillness. Then, a blue light cleaved the darkness, sharp as a stifled scream. It quivered at its edges, yet its core held firm, letters drifting into view and fading again, as if the air itself were inscribing mysteries.

The words hovered, frigid and timeless, as though carved into the void long before my arrival. They carried no warmth, only an inescapable decree.
—"What are you?"—my voice sliced through the silence, steady, unshaken. A voice in my head wasn't an everyday occurrence, but I wouldn't falter for it.
—"A system. Your system."—The response was curt, lifeless, as alien symbols danced in the air, reshaping my grasp of reality.
—"Hmph."—A faint grunt escaped me, barely audible. My face remained still, not a muscle twitching. Emotions? Mere clutter. I felt them, yes, but to display them was to surrender control. Did I mistrust it? Naturally. I'd read enough to know systems could be snares—parasites cloaked as aid. I didn't trust it. Nor did I quiver. It was just another obstacle in my path.
My hands, still slick from the purple liquid, felt clammy and cold, as if I'd grasped the essence of night itself. The metallic odor clung to me, a subtle tether proving I still drew breath. In the end, that was a trivial detail.
—"What can I do for you?"—Others might chase rewards, salivating for power. Not I. Its answer would chart my next move.
—"Everything. My existence hinges on the host's. All things have a purpose, and mine is to serve as the host's system."—The logic was undeniable, yet I couldn't fully accept it. I hoped it was one of the benevolent ones, the kind that truly assists. If not… well, this composure I bore came from somewhere, and the system didn't rattle me. It was merely a loose fragment before me.
—"What can you do for me?"—I should've asked that first.
—"I can provide assistance."—The voice resounded in my skull, unyielding as stone.
—"And what else can you do?"—I pressed, my tone even, relentless.
—"I can grant rewards based on your achievements, as I've just done. Identify items and present the host's status in full detail."—The words spilled swiftly, devoid of emotion. My eyes darted to the cave. The darkness within was dense, almost tangible, devouring any light bold enough to approach.
I inhaled slowly, letting the place seep into me. The blue light flickered, morphing into phrases that hinted at truths while concealing more.
—"And what else?"—My voice, a taut thread, demanded the rest.
—"I can identify items and display information about the host. That's all, for now."—Beyond the cave, the cliff loomed, silent, its twisted shadows like the talons of a restless beast. Within, the air felt ancient, laden with things best left undisturbed.
A brief silence settled. Then, the system projected a screen into my mind:

I absorbed each word, a heaviness settling in my chest as the details took root. The system resided in my mind—an uninvited guest privy to every shadowed recess of my being. Perhaps it concealed something. Perhaps not. I no longer cared.
—"Interesting."—The word emerged dryly, drifting into the air as I advanced toward the cave. I didn't know my destination, but retreat was never an option.
The blue screen quivered before me, cold, brimming with numbers and symbols that wavered between revelation and enigma.
—"Nephilim Supreme..."—I muttered, savoring the weight of the sound. A title grand in tone yet hollow in substance. The universe cared little for ornate labels. No cultivation, no weapons—nothing but an intact body and an awakened mind.
And there, at the end, the screen taunted:
—"The host has scarcely begun to crawl."
A silent laugh lodged in my throat, unheard by any. The air reeked of damp stone and mildew, clinging to every breath. The blue light dissolved, swallowed by the cave's gloom. The entrance yawned wide—a void that consumed all, blending the purple liquid with the creeping chill that coated my skin.
I pressed forward, my expression resolute. Each step was a defiance of the unknown, though the path felt predestined. The cave exhaled heavily, its ancient air thick with secrets I could nearly grasp.
Amid gnarled roots, something glinted—a small purple fruit, piercing the stillness with a beauty that seemed misplaced.
—"What fruit is this?"—I asked, my voice devoid of warmth, merely observing.
—"It is called the Congenital Talent Fruit,"—the system replied in my mind, as frigid as ever.
—"It grows where the essence of Chaos condenses. For it to appear, a Supreme Lord of Chaos must have fallen here, infusing the area with their power. It emerges only once every 100 billion years.
—Even those versed in its legend seldom behold it. Its cultivation demands are extreme, and it vanishes two minutes after being plucked.
—For the host, it is useless. Its effects manifest only in those with talents at the congenital level or below."
—"Useless,"—I echoed, a lifeless reverberation.
The fruit lingered there, radiant, beautiful, and futile. I left it behind—a fragment of nothingness in a place that offered me nothing. The path grew denser, the cave unveiling its mysteries gradually.
The silence deepened with each step. Moisture murmured against the stone, recounting tales no one recalled. Suddenly, round lights drifted upward, crystalline, illuminating sleek, aged walls. Paintings emerged—ancient battles, warped creatures like living shadows, hooded figures, and others so immense they strained the eyes.
Something was amiss here.
—"Kneel and revere the sovereign."—The command emanated from the walls, relentless, a sound that didn't request but demanded.
Three statues materialized before me—blurs at first, then distinct shapes, laden with gravitas.
At the center, a young man. His face serene, yet his eyes profound, as if they cradled the entire firmament and regarded nothing.
To the right, a woman. Her beauty transcendent, her features so flawless they felt unnatural, as though the stone had conjured her in a dream.
To the left, an old man with six arms—an azura, perhaps, from half-remembered tales. A sword in one hand, an orb in another, weapons in the rest—every inch of him exuded power, scars etching his face like chronicles of unbroken victories.
They bore down on me, not in body but in spirit, shrinking me beneath their gaze. The cold slithered up my skin, yet I didn't halt. I wouldn't kneel to stone.
I drew nearer. The air lightened abruptly, as if the burden had wearied of me. But then exhaustion struck, insidious, flooding my bones.
A sound ripped through the stillness—shrill, searing, a thunderclap confined within the cave's maw.

The light blazed fiercely, but my vision clouded. Fatigue crashed over me, felling my body before I could resist. My knees met the stone, unyielding and icy, dragging me down. Everything receded—sounds, air—as if the world dissolved into a whisper lost to the breeze.
Then, a voice emerged, deep and primordial, from nowhere—or perhaps from within.
—"Worthy to be my successor."
It faded before I could seize it. Truth? Delusion? I couldn't discern. Darkness descended wholly, drawing me into a realm without time or boundaries.
I knew, in my core, that I had only just begun. Each step was a skirmish with what lay ahead. And it was there—in that raw tenacity, that ceaseless march onward—that I unearthed a shard of purpose for my existence.
