Chapter 1 - Chapter One the memories

Chapter One: The Memoryless Human memories can become weapons. In the dueling grounds of Memory Armament Academy, a blazing greatsword came crashing down from the sky, screeching through the air before slamming into the stone floor. Dust burst upward. Shards of rock scattered in all directions.

The boy on the other side stumbled back, his own weapon trembling in his grip.

He wielded a chain—cold and glowing faintly blue—with a tiny bronze bell tied to its end. "That bell was a gift from his grandfather," someone whispered nearby.

"He was holding it when his grandpa died."

"So his weapon is… his memory of his grandfather?"

"Yeah. Everyone's Armament comes from their strongest memory." In this world, everyone could summon a weapon forged from their deepest memories—called an Armament .

It was the very foundation of power.

At the edge of the arena, a lone boy sat on the topmost step—silent, unmoving.

His name was Nie Shi .

His head was lowered. His palms were empty.

No weapon. No glow. No energy.

Because he had never summoned an Armament.

Not because of amnesia.

He remembered things—just… nothing ever came.

No weapon. No shape. No resonance.

The teachers called him a Memoryless .

The only one in the entire school.

While others summoned weapons from their minds, Nie Shi summoned nothing.

He hadn't come here to fight.

He came to find answers.

Three years had passed.

He still had none. "Hey, loser! Still pretending you're part of this?"

A passing boy sneered. "Face it. You'll never have an Armament." Nie Shi didn't look up.

He'd heard worse.

But today… something changed.

A loud crack echoed above.

The sky-screen flickered and glitched. The memory projection suddenly shifted—

To a blood-soaked street.

A small figure knelt in the center, clutching a lifeless body. Crying—yet silent.

The arena fell still. "Whose memory is that?" someone whispered.

"Why is it showing in public view?" Nie Shi's heart began to race.

He didn't recognize the memory.

But his chest burned.

His vision darkened.

Something deep inside… cracked open.

And then, a spear appeared before him.

Long. Black as night. Like it had crawled out of a grave.

Etched faintly along its shaft were the words: "Only by returning the memory can you survive." Nie Shi froze.

His hand moved on its own.

The spear drifted gently into his palm.

And the entire arena held its breath.

He had never summoned an Armament.

But now—he held someone else's. Chapter One (cont.): First Wielding "What is that?" a teacher's voice rang from the stands, tight with tension. The Armament System was closed.

No weapon could appear without registration.

Yet the black spear floated there, calmly, like it had always belonged to him. "Don't touch it!" someone shouted. "That could be a wild Armament!"

"It'll corrupt him!" Nie Shi heard them.

He didn't move.

His breath shook. His skin burned.

Something—he didn't know what—was calling to the weapon.

Then his fingers touched the shaft. BOOM! A violent shockwave erupted outward!

Spectators were thrown back.

The air cracked like glass.

Arena tiles exploded into dust.

A phantom image burst from Nie Shi's body—

A memory.

That same crimson street.

A scream of grief.

A shattered gun.

A promise made through tears.

It wasn't his memory.

But the spear had answered to him. "He… he manifested an Armament?"

"I thought he was Memoryless?!" Nie Shi stood still.

But something in his eyes had changed.

The spear was heavy—

But his body felt light. "Put it down! You don't know what it'll do—!" Too late. Boom! With a single sweep, the spear unleashed a horizontal blast, flinging the charging boy five meters back.

He hit the floor and rolled to a stop.

Chaos erupted. "Emergency protocol! Lock down the field!" Energy barriers flashed into place.

A dozen force blades encircled Nie Shi.

Then, the black glow on the spear slowly faded—

Like it had finished binding .

Suddenly, the system screen activated:
