Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: The Undead Hunter

Byne's brows twitched. He tiptoed closer and slowly pushed open the office covered with vegetation. The door wasn't locked, and it made a slight creaking sound. Byne turned his head to look and saw that his arrow had landed on a wooden table in the room and was nailed to it.

He frowned slightly. Just then, he suddenly heard a faint and secret movement coming from another opposite office behind him.

His eyes flashed with a sharp light. He suddenly turned his head, nocked an arrow, and shot it. The action of nocking the arrow was completed within 0.2 seconds. The arrow instantly flew through the air and shot into the office through the window. Immediately, a suppressed low groan of pain came from inside.

"You little bastard!" Byne sneered slightly. He put away his bow and arrow, drew out the dagger from his shin strap with his backhand, and walked step by step towards this office. He kicked open the half-closed door. With a bang, the door immediately fell off. All the things in the dimly lit room were presented in his sight. He immediately saw that beside one of the desks, Dudian was lying there. The bow and arrow seemed to have penetrated through his rib on the other side and pinned him to the table.

A bloodthirsty look appeared in Byne's eyes. He had great confidence in his bow and arrow. It could even pierce through hard stones, let alone the thin and weak soft armor of the scavengers.

"You little bastard, struggle. Are you very desperate?" Byne licked his lips and stepped closer step by step.

Dudian was sweating profusely and looked at him in horror, saying, "Don't, don't come closer."

"Scream, keep screaming." A cold glint flashed in Byne's eyes. "The kid who ruined my good deed, a useless little bastard. I'll skin you and pick your bones!"

As he got closer, the fear on Dudian's face grew stronger. However, just as Byne approached a desk about four or five meters away, the fear on Dudian's face suddenly disappeared. It was as if he had changed his expression, revealing a fierce and determined murderous intent. The body that had been lying down suddenly straightened up, and the arm that had been hidden under his chest suddenly threw out a black shadow. It was his short sword!

Such a sudden attack made Byne stunned for a moment. But after all, he was a hunter. His numerous battles on the verge of life and death made him instinctively raise the dagger in his hand. With a ding, he blocked the directly shot short sword.

At this time, Byne realized that his bow and arrow hadn't actually hit Dudian but was nailed to the wooden table. Before, Dudian had deliberately clamped the arrow under his armpit, creating a misalignment effect that made him think he had hit Dudian.

"You little bastard!!" Byne was completely enraged. He was both irritated by Dudian's attack and angry at himself for falling into the trap of a scavenger. He said ferociously, "I'll twist off your head, burst your eyeballs, you damned little bastard!!" As he roared, his body rushed out quickly, as swift as a leopard. The distance of four or five meters before was closed in the blink of an eye.

However, Dudian wasn't flustered. When he threw out the short sword, he immediately picked up the keyboard, the liquid crystal screen, the water cup, the photo frame, and the withered flower pot on the table and threw them at Byne.

Although these things wouldn't cause much harm, they could obstruct the other party.

Byne knew his intention. After the previous humiliation of being tricked, he wouldn't let Dudian have his way. He raised his hand and knocked aside the object thrown at his face. As for the other water cups and flower pots, he didn't even look at them and let them hit his body. With the hardness of the soft armor on his body, even if he was hit by a stone, it wouldn't cause any damage. While ignoring these things, he quickly reached in front of Dudian.

Just then, Dudian suddenly threw out a ball of cloth.

This cloth had been on the table before and was thrown out together with the other things this time. It seemed to be something he grabbed in a hurry.

At the moment of throwing it, Dudian couldn't help but look back.

With a bang, Byne suddenly struck out and kicked the ball of cloth away. He sneered and said, "You little brat, do you think I'll fall for it twice? All the other things are covered with dust and moss seeds, but this cloth obviously shows signs of being touched. Is there something hidden in it?"

Dudian's pupils shrank slightly. He had underestimated the terrifying nature of the hunter. Their strong physique was just one of their means. What was truly terrifying was their rich combat experience. Perhaps when hunting monsters, they had already exhausted all kinds of methods of setting traps!

"I underestimated you." Dudian panted slightly and stared at him coldly.

Byne sneered and said, "A hunter isn't someone you can kill with a few tricks. Since the other three little brats managed to escape, you'll bear my anger in their place!"

Dudian also sneered and said, "You underestimated me too, you fool!" After that, he suddenly crouched down.

Byne was taken aback. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a faint flame coming from a metal machine under a table beside him. The next moment, the flame instantly expanded and engulfed him!

Boom!!!

There was a loud explosion, as if the entire room was shaking. The ceiling lights were shaken off.

Although Dudian had hidden in time and was behind a desk, at the moment of the explosion, he still felt as if his whole body was lifted up and then hit a bumpy and hard object heavily. The hard object soon broke, and he fell heavily to the ground. Intense pain spread throughout his body from his arm, ribs, and side abdomen. He gritted his teeth tightly, feeling a buzzing in his ears and a dizzying sensation in his head.

He tried hard to open his eyes. In the office illuminated by the dim light in his line of sight, there were layers of double images, which were constantly rotating and shaking. He gritted his teeth tightly, raised his hand, and slapped his face.

After slapping himself two or three times in a row, he felt his vision gradually returning. He quickly struggled to sit up and looked up at the place where the explosion had occurred before. That was exactly the position where he had been lying before!

The commotion he had created before wasn't just to simply lure this hunter in but to hide the ignited explosive in the host computer under that desk. The cloth ignited with a flint was burning the rough paper outside the black powder tube. The pulp of the rough paper was only simply filtered, and there were a lot of wood chips and sundries in it. It burned very slowly. And the dust accumulated on the cloth was too thick. Even though it had been cut into strips by the short sword, it also burned very slowly. He had deliberately lain there. Besides pretending to be shot by an arrow, his real purpose was to cover the gunpowder below!

After all, the amount of this tube of black powder was quite large. Although it had great lethality, it was very difficult to blow up a highly vigilant person like the hunter. So, he had to take the risk.

If the cloth burned faster than he expected, he would be the first to be blown to death.

If it went out during the burning process, he would be killed by the other party!

This was a desperate situation. He could only fight and take a gamble!

Dudian felt extremely tired. He leaned against the wall and panted heavily. At the same time, he picked up the cloth bundle that had been kicked to the wall by the other party, untied the knot, and inside were more than a dozen deep blue spheres wrapped in the cloth. A smile appeared on his face. However, the next moment, his whole body froze.

He saw that in the place of the explosion in front, the hunter's body struggled and slowly stood up. Blood was gushing out all over his body. His right arm on the side close to the bomb had been blown off, but he still stood up tenaciously, holding the dagger tightly in his hand and looking at Dudian with a crazy and ferocious expression.

Surprisingly, he was not killed in the explosion?
