Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Use and Discard, Hmm?

Yu Tingwan slept soundly on the large bed at Jingshui Xianju Villa. Though she wasn't one to indulge in luxury, the previous days had been spent in a cramped maid's room with a hard mattress at the Yu residence. Her biological parents never gave her a second thought.

Now, lying on this spacious bed, she rolled around several times before slowly getting up the next morning. Checking her phone, she saw numerous messages from Si Yanchen. Ignoring his complaints, she focused on the last message: 'I brought breakfast—crystal shrimp dumplings, crab roe buns, and seafood congee, all to your liking. I'm waiting for you outside your door.'

Si Yanchen truly knew her tastes and schedule well. With a casual swipe, she activated the security cameras and spotted a familiar figure at the door. Unlike before, he was now seated in a wheelchair, holding an exquisite thermos box, his captivating eyes fixated on her villa like a stone gazing wistfully at its wife.

Yu Tingwan unlocked the villa's gate. Hearing the noise, a smile flickered in Si Yanchen's eyes as he wheeled himself inside. Fang He, watching the steps, was about to ask if she needed help with the man when she saw him effortlessly stand up, pulling the wheelchair along.

'...'

Fang He looked at his wheelchair, hesitating to speak. So, the rumors about the fourth young master of the Si family being disabled were false after all.

Judging by Yu Tingwan's expression, she showed no surprise at all.

Si Yanchen smoothly placed the thermos on the dining table, methodically taking out each breakfast item and handing utensils to Yu Tingwan, his movements practiced as if he'd done it a thousand times.

After setting the breakfast, he walked over to the fridge, took out a bag of strawberry yogurt, and warmed it in hot water.

Fang He quietly left the dining room. She couldn't shake the feeling that Yu Tingwan and Si Yanchen had known each other for a long time, making her feel like a third wheel standing there.

Yu Tingwan lazily glanced at the man fawning over her.

She let out a vague chuckle and began eating her breakfast leisurely.

Halfway through breakfast, her phone rang again. Upon answering, Song Yun's concerned voice came through: 'Wanwan, are you alright? Your father was just too angry yesterday and acted irrationally. You should apologize to him; the Yu family will always be your home.'

Song Yun's tone was gentle, tinged with sympathy. She hadn't slept well, imagining Yu Tingwan curled up under a bridge or on a bench, shivering pitifully. How could she not feel heartache for her own daughter?

Yu Tingwan lowered her gaze slightly, responding coldly, 'No need.'

Song Yun hesitated, then continued, 'Wanwan, where else can you go if you don't return to the Yu family? Please don't be so stubborn.'

Yu Tingwan scoffed and hung up the call. Her beautiful eyes were filled with indifference.

Stubborn?

Ever since she returned to the Yu family, they had labeled her as such—reckless, uncouth, and inferior to the refined Yu Mingyu.'

She was so tired of hearing the same old thing.

Yun Tingwan hung up the phone without a second thought, leaving Song Yun fuming. She gripped her phone tightly, her initial sympathy for Yun Tingwan evaporating, replaced by resentment.

This child, why is she so stubborn?

Can't she be as sensible as Mingyu?

With such a temper, she needs to learn some lessons and toughen up!

Song Yun's call didn't affect Yun Tingwan's appetite at all.

Si Yanchen had brought the perfect portion of breakfast.

As she swallowed the last spoonful of seafood congee, Si Yanchen casually opened a strawberry yogurt and handed it to her.

Yun Tingwan took a bite, the sweet and sour taste making her eyes close in satisfaction.

Watching her content expression, Si Yanchen couldn't help but chuckle softly, "How have you been without me these past few days?"

Just thinking about Yun Tingwan suffering at the hands of the Yu family made his anger hard to contain.

What right did the Yu family have to humiliate her?

Yun Tingwan glanced at him lazily, "Don't flatter yourself."

Did he really think she couldn't see through his intentions?

She stretched and yawned, "I've finished my breakfast. Goodbye."

With that, Yun Tingwan turned and headed upstairs, not even sparing Si Yanchen a glance.

Si Yanchen's eyes darkened, and he quickly caught up to her, wrapping his arms around her from behind, his voice tinged with displeasure, "So, you're just going to throw me away, huh?"

Yun Tingwan looked at him sideways, a mocking smile playing on her lips, "Take your paws away, Si Yanchen. Don't make me slap you."

Si Yanchen: "..."

He silently released his hold.

Yun Tingwan smoothed out the slightly wrinkled hem of her dress, still sounding lazy, "I've also left you the check. Let's cut ties cleanly for these three years. Go do your own thing and stop following me."

Si Yanchen's gaze instantly turned dangerous, his eyes flashing with hidden fury, "Wanwan, are you trying to end this?"

Yun Tingwan's face remained calm, "Isn't it clearly written in the agreement?"

She had thought that after coming to Yunjing, she wouldn't have anything more to do with him.

Who would have thought he was the crazy Fourth Master of the Si family, Si Yanchen?

Yun Tingwan hadn't spent much time within the country before, settling down in a small county town upon her return, showing no interest in Yunjing affairs.

Moreover, when she came back, Si Yanchen had already been exiled by the Si family, and she hadn't bothered to look into these matters, never imagining he was the Si family's Fourth Master.

Si Yanchen had never revealed his identity to her, only saying he was alone and homeless.

He had lied to her.

Si Yanchen's eyes immediately became dangerous, as if brewing an invisible storm, "I disagree."

He stepped forward as if to embrace Yun Tingwan, but she took a step back, lightly evading him, a hint of coldness appearing in her beautiful eyes, "Your objection is invalid."

Si Yanchen's frustration and reluctance were evident as he spoke urgently, "But what about those three years? Clearly, you—"

Yun Tingwan raised her finger, pressing it against Si Yanchen's lips, silencing his unfinished words, "What was your identity during those three years?"

Her eyes were clear, as if trying to see straight into his soul.

Si Yanchen seemed to be burned by her gaze, abruptly looking away, his voice strained as he managed to utter, 'I understand.'

Yun Tingwan smiled satisfactorily: 'Good to know, our little game of house is over.'

After saying this, she turned and headed upstairs.

Si Yanchen didn't chase after her.

In the living room, a myriad of intense emotions flashed across Si Yanchen's dark eyes, his fists clenching involuntarily, turning his fingertips white.

Over...? Not far away, Fang He watched the scene with bated breath, clutching an alarm device. She had already decided that if Si Yanchen went berserk, she would press the alarm and call in the bodyguards!

But ultimately, Si Yanchen suppressed all his emotions, turning away expressionlessly, making sure to clean up the food box on the dining table and take it with him.

Fang He watched Si Yanchen leave, feeling the world seemed somewhat surreal.

This legendary madman, known for his ruthless cruelty and unforgiving nature, was acting like putty in Miss Yun's hands?

Si Yanchen moved his wheelchair into the car expressionlessly.

Sun Cheng was already waiting behind the wheel, and seeing Si Yanchen's unpleased expression, he felt a chill run down his spine.

He couldn't help but wonder who had angered this master.

However, Sun Cheng didn't dare ask. He feared that asking might shift Si Yanchen's anger onto him. 'Fourth Master, where shall we go?' Sun Cheng asked respectfully.

Si Yanchen glanced indifferently at Yun Tingwan's villa, a sharp glint of killing intent flashing in his eyes, and slowly asked, 'Who deliberately intercepted the deal with the God of Medicine yesterday?' Sun Cheng's heart tightened, 'It was your second uncle, Si Fengli.'

Si Yanchen's lips curled slightly, his eyes narrowing, his face exuding a sinister charm, 'Well then.

It's been over three years since I left Beijing; it's time to visit my dear second uncle.' Sun Cheng shivered silently, lighting a metaphorical candle for Si Fengli in his heart.'
