Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Three people in a marriage

Claudine's POV

I took off my glasses as soon as the taxi dropped me off at this huge mansion. I didn't call anyone and made sure that no one learned of my arrival.

I want to discover the truth myself. Two years had passed, and those times had changed me completely.

I entered the gate. I used the card that my dead mom-in-law secretly gave to me. There are things that she gave me that I never expected. I opened them as soon as I arrived in England.

I was walking in the garden, and no one was there. I guess they're all busy inside. It's already dinnertime. This is the best time for me to show up.

I will ruin all of their plans. I used the card again, and the main door opened. I placed my luggage on the stairs. I will take them as soon as I go upstairs. I put on my glasses again and went straight into the dining hall.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, happy birthday… Happy birthday, Samantha!" they sang.

My palm turns to a fist. Everything that I learned was all true. Good thing this person never lies to me! She is on my side!

I entered the dining hall and started clapping my hands after they finished doing it while singing her a song. I smirk.

"Happy birthday, dear mistress," I greeted.

I took off my glasses, and they turned pale when they saw me. I spread my hands and shrug my shoulders.

"SURPRISE! SURPRISE! Isn't it lovely?" I mocked, full of hatred and anger.

I walked closer to where the two of them are. I grab her wrist and pull Samantha closer. "You look too pale, mistress. Don't be. It's just me, your unexpected guest, the madam of this house."

She tried to shake off my hand as I held her wrist too tight. "Don't be like that, sweetheart. You're being rude," I stated.

I grab the cake. My husband grabs her wrist and shields himself. I laugh. "Love, don't be stupid. You really think I will smack this beautiful cake in her face? Oh please! I am just carrying it for her," I remarked.

He looks back and gives me those dead and cold eyes. I'd seen that for a month before I was forced to leave the country and cast out on my own house.

"Come on, blow out your candle and wish, dearest. Who knows? The devil may grant it. I might die today or tomorrow," I assert, smirking and furrowing my brow. I move the cake closer.

My husband shoves it away, and it falls on the floor. I sighed and grabbed the champagne bottle and purposely shook it, then opened it in a spur of the moment. I let Samantha's friends taste it. They screamed as they got wet, and even the food too.

"Oops, not sorry," I stated.

I turned around and saw the huge portrait of Samantha behind us. I throw the bottle, and the glasses break.

"Oh my!" Samantha screams.

She jumps off to my husband to protect herself. I crouched down and grabbed a piece of glass. I held it tight until my palm started to bleed.

"I never thought that you would show everyone how this marriage consists of three, my dear husband. You're even proud to tell the world that you're an adulterer. Should I applaud you for that, hmm?" I mocked.

I threw the glass, and it landed where the gifts were stacked. I didn't care even if my blood was dripping on the floor. I take a seat on the chair where the head of the family should take.

"What are you doing, Claudine?!" Elijah roars. I smack the table and stain the tablecloth with my own blood. I looked back and glared at him.

"All of you who were invited and close friends of this bitch. Leave!" I roared.

They look at Elijah and Samantha. "You have no right to do that!" Elijah roars. I glared at those specific people.

"LEAVE OR BEG!" I growled. They were startled and ran on their own, leaving the dining hall.

"Drop that bitch down, Elijah. Don't make me madder!" I roared.

They're about to leave while he still carries her when the butlers that I hired align and stop him.

"What the fuck!"

He turns around. I stood up and walked towards him. I grab Samantha's hands and drag her down. She fell on the floor.

"Aghh! My back! Elijah!" she calls, crying.

Elijah's palm landed on my cheeks. I turn my head, facing him again. I raised my hand and slapped him back. My blood stained his face.

"How dare you!" Elijah roars, ready to hit me again. "Elijah, enough!" Jin-ah roars.

She approaches us and stands next to me. "I knew it! I told you already, Elijah! Your cousin was on this woman's side!" Samantha yells. She stood on her own.

"Are you also testing my patience, Jin-ah?! Didn't I warn you already?!" Elijah roars.

"Shut up! I've had enough. I made a promise to Auntie. It's her words that I only follow," Jin-ah asserts. My husband's jaw tightens. His gaze shifted on me.

"You have no right in this house! You have no right to hit the woman I love! I will make you pay for this!" Elijah threatens.

"You love her, huh? Damn it! I won't divorce you over my dead body!" I exclaimed.

I grab the papers inside my bag and throw them on the ground. Stepping on it as my blood stained it.

"Let go already, or I'll make your life miserable!" he threatens.

I already lived a miserable life, then they'll live together in hell! "Really? Then let's live in that miserable life altogether, my dear husband," I grunted. I look at Samantha and smirk.

"Now that I'm back, I'll make you regret coveting what isn't yours. I'll make sure that your status as mistress will be rubbed in your face in every place you go. All those people will laugh at you behind your back," I remarked sarcastically.

I raised my palm and showed her my engagement and wedding rings. "Know your place, bitch. You're nothing but a woman outside this marriage. Anyway… WELCOME TO MY HELL," I growled.

I turned my back and walked away. As soon as I walked on the stairs, I grabbed my luggage and headed into the master bedroom. I used that key again and saw the changes that Samantha made in this room.

"Come inside! Take off all these nasty things. Burn all of them! Her clothes and all of the things that shouldn't be here will be burned!" I command.

The ten butlers enter the room and take off all the things that the mistress owns. "If she tries to stop all of you, ignore her. I want everything to be taken off. They don't fucking belong in this house!" I added.

"Understood, Madam!" they all replied.

After a few minutes, Samantha and Elijah enter the room. They look at me deathly. "By the way, burn that bed either. It was stinky," I assert.

Five butlers carried them away. Elijah comes closer and tries to grab my arms when I point a dart at Samantha's face. She turned pale.

"How dare you! Both of you! You stained this bedroom with your filthy affair! Have you forgotten, Elijah, that this room was your parent's nest, huh?! How can you have filled this with your immoral acts?!" I exclaimed.

That hit him. I know he somehow realizes how disrespectful he is with his parents' memories.
