Chapter 5 - First Blood

After days of cultivation in the void, ye Bai finally breakthrough the the first rank of the Qi refinement realm. He was now at the second rank of it the early stage. He will have to put in a good among of work if he wants to advance quickly and go head to head with the born or talented ye clen student's.

When ye Bai was done consolidating his cultivation, he managed to make a way out for him self in the ruins. Taking as much as he can for himself back to the place he calls home.

Before he could make his way back to the top it was already dark outside. The moon hung high over the Ye Clan's outer courtyard, casting pale silver light over the training grounds. The air was thick with the scent of blood and sweat, and the distant hum of cicadas provided an eerie backdrop to what was about to unfold.

Ye Bai stood alone.

His body, once frail and broken, now pulsed with newfound strength. Power surged beneath his skin, dark and intoxicating. His mind was sharper, his senses heightened to some extent. The Shadow Immortal Codex had awakened something buried deep within him, the remnants of a forgotten past.

Tonight, he would no longer be a cripple everyone use to know him to be.

Tonight, they would see something different and anyone who cross his path and step on him might just get to pay their long time Dept.

When ye Bai was about to step into the light something happened.

A familiar laughter echoed through the courtyard. Ye Ming, his older cousin, led a group of Ye Clan disciples who were at the late stages of the third rank of the refinement realm Walk through the gates, their eyes filled with cruel amusement.

"Well, well, who do we have here." Ye Ming sneered, stepping forward, his hands tucked behind his back. "I heard our clan's disgrace managed to crawl back after his little 'accident' some night ago." He said.

Ye Bai said nothing. His fingers curled into fists, the cold energy of the Shadow Immortal Codex swirling in his veins.

Another disciple, Ye Feng, chuckled. "I was sure the wild dogs would have eaten his corpse by now. Too bad, lucky you are to still alive." He said

Ye Ming smirked. "Maybe they left him alone because even the dogs knew he wasn't worth biting." he added.

Laughter erupted from the group, their jeers cutting through the night air.

Ye Bai lifted his gaze. His once lifeless eyes now burned with quiet malice.

They were all insects standing before him nothing more.

Before, he had tolerated their abuse, endured their beatings. But too bad for them, because that was the old Ye Bai and everything was about to change.

The new Ye Bai had no patience for trash.

"Ye Bai," Ye Ming called, taking a slow step forward, his tone laced with amusement. "You know, our elders and even your father my uncle have been talking about expelling you from the clan, I thought you said you don't need us ' ye clan' so what are you doing here now? A cripple like you is nothing but a waste of good resources to us. But…" His grin widened as he look at ye Bai disdainful. "If you kneel down before me now, and beg for my forgiveness and mercy I might just put in a few good words for you in the coming weeks, and most importantly hand over whatever lucky charm you stumbled upon in that ruins that helps you to survive all the time you were in there when we all thought you were, you death..... Then I might have the convincing tone to do so trust me. Is never too late." He said.

The others chuckled, clearly enjoying the moment.

Ye Bai exhaled slowly. He could feel his cultivation surging, his blood singing with power. He had spent the last few nights mastering the first technique of the Codex, and his body was no longer bound by mortal limitations.

Tonight, he would test it.

His lips curled into a slow, chilling smile.

"Kneel down before you and beg for your forgiveness and mercy?" He asked, Ye Bai's voice was soft, but the underlying power sent shivers down their spines.

Ye Ming's smirk faltered. "What did you say?" he asked back.

This made ye ming tense up, he never expect ye Bai to speak up for himself and was ready to teach him a lesson as usual.

Ye Ming's just breakthrough into the fourth rank of the Qi refinement realm and haven't consolidated his cultivation yet at this stage which can be risky, luck for him the person in front of him was just at the lower rank so no need to panic.

Without much thought. Ye Ming's summoned his fathom iron fist to hit ye Bai in order to put him in his place, but before he could finish Ye Bai vanished in to the nite without any warning of his own.

Ye Ming's and the others was taking aback by this new development.

"Were did he go, were the hell are you you little brat, if that's the best you got you just as useless as ever. Don't even think of showing your face here." He shouted.

BOOM!

In the blink of an eye, he reappear closing down the distance between them.

"Shadow shattering palm fifth point."

CRACK!

Before Ye Ming could react, Ye Bai's fist sank into his chest. A violent explosion of force sent him hurtling backward like a ragdoll, crashing into a nearby training post with a sickening crunch.

Silence.

Ye Feng's face twisted in horror he..... "What the hell just happened?" he asked.

Ye Bai's wasn't done yet, he figure blurred again and he disappear into the nite.

"Where did he go again, keep an eye on your side."

"Shadow void flapping the wings."

At the mist of the confusion he reappear in front of ye Feng's. Then With a golden light his palm struck Ye Feng's shoulder snapping two of his bones.

Two steps.

A sweeping kick shattered another disciple's knee. he howled in agony.

By the time Ye Bai stopped moving, four of them lay screaming on the ground, clutching their shattered limbs.

Ye Bai exhaled, rolling his shoulders. His body felt light, powerful and unstoppable.

He looked down at Ye Ming, who lay groaning at his feet, blood trickling from his mouth.

Ye Bai crouched beside him, his cold eyes locking onto his cousin's trembling gaze.

"Do you Still want me to kneel down before you and beg for forgiveness?, will you be able to put in the words for me?" He asked.

Ye Ming choked on his own breath, unable to respond. Terror was painted across his face.

For years, he had humiliated Ye Bai, treating him like a worthless cripple.

But now—now Ye Bai looked at him like he was less than an insect.

Ye Bai rose to his feet, stepping over his cousin's broken body. The first taste of revenge was intoxicating.

But as he turned to leave the courtyard, a new voice rang out.

Ye Ming's was able to pass across the news of ye Bai destruction on time.

"Ye Bai…" the voice was deep and unreadable. "Explain yourself."

"What is the meaning of this?
