Chapter 6 - "A SOUVENIR"

Isabella's kiss was soft, she tasted like margaritas, for a moment, Rafael froze, he was stunned by her audacity; no one touched him without invitation, yet here she was, drunk with her mouth pressed to his like she'd done it a thousand times before.

He grabbed her face without thinking, one hand cupping the side of her head as his other slid to the nape of her neck, his lips moved with hers now, responding and taking over, heat flashing across his chest, a low growl vibrated in his throat,

He pulled back for just a breath, his forehead resting against hers,

"who...are you?" he grinned,

Isabella blinked up at him, pupils blown, lips swollen, "Do you want me to stop?"

Rafael didn't answer, instead, he leaned in again, this time slower, deeper, his lips brushing hers before crashing into another harder and more consuming kiss.

He slid his hands under her thighs, and in one swift move, lifted her off the counter like she weighed nothing, she gasped and wrapped her legs around him instantly, arms locked around his neck,

"I can walk, you know," she said between kisses, grinning against his mouth,

"I don't care," he muttered, lips tracing her jaw, "I like carrying trouble."

"trouble?" Isabella laughed, "so im trouble now?"

she goes back in for a kiss, their mouths stayed locked as he carried her and walked them through the room, bumping into a chair, not caring where they were headed as long as he was tasting her,

Her fingers tangled in his hair, pulling just hard enough to make him groan, her scent was driving him mad like warm vanilla mixed with danger,

He kicked the bedroom door open with his foot, letting it swing shut behind them, the bed caught them as he laid her down gently, but there was nothing soft about the way his body hovered over hers, his breathing was rough, chest rising and falling, his eyes burning as he stared down at her,

Rafael let out a dark laugh, "You're drunk, Isabella."

"So?" she whispered, reaching up to drag her nails down his chest, "are you scared I'll regret it?"

"No," he said firmly, catching her hand and pressing it to his mouth, he kissed her fingers slowly, "I'm scared that I won't regret it."

That silenced her,

His mouth met hers again and everything just spiraled, they didn't stop or slow down, neither of them wanted to fight it, clothes came off piece by piece, They weren't thinking or at least Isabella wasn't thinking, because on a normal day, she would never have sex with a man she had just met.

Isabella groaned when the sun started coming in through the blinds, her head felt like someone had stomped on it, her mouth was dry, her arms and legs hurt, her stomach was doing flips and she felt like throwing up, she sat up a little and rubbed her temples,

"What the hell did I drink?" she whispered,

She opened one eye and then froze because right there because right next to her, was a naked man lying face down, she couldn't see his face,

She didn't scream but her heart did, she stared at him like he was a wild animal, her chest felt tight and her stomach dropped, she looked around fast and saw clothes all over the place, she knew something had happened between them the night before, the only problem was that she didn't remember any of it and she didn't know who the hell that man laying there was.

Her face turned red, she quickly covered her chest with the bedsheet even though he wasn't even looking at her, she slowly slid out of bed and tiptoed to grab her dress, she pulled it on fast and almost fell trying to balance on one leg,

She looked for her pant, looked under the bed, under the pillow, beside the chair, she looked everywhere but it was GONE, like it vanished into thin air, and that made her feel even worse,

"God help me," she whispered, her chest hurting, she felt gross and confused and mad at herself, she hated that she didn't remember all of it, she hated that she didn't even know his name, and worst of all, she hated that she just had sex with a man she neither knew nor remembered and to be honest, a part of her didn't want to know, because if she knew, it would be real and she'd have to face it,

She thought about going home that morning and facing her family and instantly her stomach flipped again, she didn't want to see her mother or her uncle or her useless step siblings, she felt tired and angry and done with life,

"FOR GOD'S SAKE, ISABELLA," she muttered, grabbing her bag and stuffing her heels inside, she picked up her phone and stared at the man one more time,

His back was nice, like too nice,

"Should I wake him up?" she thought, then she shook her head fast, "Nope, nope, nope, I'm not doing this," she whispered again,

She opened the door and slipped out quietly like a thief, she walked fast toward the stairs and just as she turned the corner, she heard—

"GIRL?!"

Isabella froze,

It was Rosa, her best friend, in a wrinkled dress, holding her heels, her makeup all over the place, like she fought a raccoon,

"What are you doing hereeee?" Rosa yelled,

Isabella blinked once, then again, they stared at each other and both just cracked up laughing,

"Oh my God," Isabella said, gasping, "We're both doing the walk of shame,"

"Girl," Rosa said, linking her arm with hers, "You look like you've been through a war,"

"I feel like I lost the war," Isabella groaned, "along with my pant,"

They laughed even harder, holding each other so they wouldn't fall down the stairs, whispering and giggling like two teenagers sneaking out after midnight,

"Let's never talk about this again," Isabella said, trying to catch her breath,

"Until tonight?" Rosa said with a grin,

"Until never," Isabella moaned, "I'm never drinking again,"

"You say that every time," Rosa said,

They pushed the back door open and squinted at the sunlight like stray cats,

"Let's go home," Isabella mumbled, dragging her feet, "And if anyone asks where I was last night, I was in bed, sleeping, alone, reading a novel,"

"You're a walking lie," Rosa laughed,

Isabella sighed and looked around like she was scared her mom would pop out of nowhere, "I'm in big trouble with my mother, I shouldn't have stayed out late," she whispered,

"Let's get you home, my love," Rosa said, hugging her tight and pulling her along as they walked away, two hot messes trying to act normal again.

Back at the hotel, Rafael opens his eyes with a smirk on his face "wow" he whispered.

he had pretended to be asleep to have Isabella not feel uncomfortable, he waited for her to leave before opening his eyes fully; he finds Isabella`s panties under the sheets and a mischievous look immediately comes on his face as he grabs it;

"a souvenir" he grinned.
