Around 6 am, Zoey had sent out a message to the council, Sophie and Zander, and Cyrus.
"I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my guards are telling me there is much more activity in the inner barrier than usual. We will need to send out a team to eradicate the threat. From what they're telling me, it's mainly vampires and werewolves, but there is also a group with two minotaurs, four werewolves and four vampires," Zoey said, calmly.
"Sophie, Zander and I can take this one," Cyrus said proudly.
"I'm glad we'll get to do this, it'll be nice to be outside," Sophie said with a big yawn.
"I agree, plus it will be a good way of testing our teamwork against multiple enemies," Zander said as they quickly got ready, as did Cyrus in his room.
Zoey informed them to meet outside Cyrus' room, as it was the closest meeting point for all of them.
"We need to stop by my office and get watches with the infrared map. We have to track down these sources. I'll notify Lister to be careful. He's too valuable to lose," Zoey said while grabbing Cyrus, Sophie and Zander.
The next moment they were in Zoey's office and Zander broke the ice, "I thought no one could teleport in Haven or the 10 mile radius within?"
"Being royalty does have its privileges, Cyrus you should be able now as well," as Zoey laughed and slapped fancy looking wrist watches on Cyrus, Zander, and Sophie.
"It's actually the watches that allow us to teleport. It's useful for the scout team as well. Mom and Dad have them, but don't wear them, even though I tell them a threat can happen at any time, much like today," Zoey said with a calm demeanor.
"So what's the deal sister, what are we to do?" Cyrus asked.
"Go out there and eliminate all the threats. Don't hold back and make sure you fry something nice for Lister, he always gets bummed out when he's told to stand down," Zoey said.
"Oh I'll be more than happy to do that, I'll tell him you said hello and that you're sorry you had him stand down," Zander said with a smile.
"Wait, what?" Zoey asked, confused.
"It's a Zander thing, he can kinda talk to animals," Cyrus said with a smile.
"So with this watch, I'm guessing we'll know how to get back into Haven then," Sophie said while examining the watch.
"I see there's actually three entrances, the one we originally went through, one by the Castle, and one underneath this security station."
"Correct, take the entrance by the Castle. There's a monolith, here let me input it into your watches. There, it's marked on your watches so please don't die or let them get their hands on these, or Haven will be in big, big trouble," Zoey said with a serious tone.
"Cyrus, all you have to do is prick your finger and put your blood on the Monolith, I'll show you the pattern. It will open up for you and teleport you back to the top of the Castle, which is where you should go leave from," Zoey said, as she teleported them to a room they had never seen before, but was heavily guarded and locked.
"There are traps, multiple rooms that are mazes, a room with puzzles, people could die in there, that's some top notch security for this monolith teleporter," Zander and Sophie both thought.
Zoey pricked her finger, as it was easy for her as a vampire, drew a Heart on the Monolith, and it opened up, showing a unique, black and silver Monolith.
"Just draw a heart on the Monolith outside with your blood, Cyrus, I'm sure Zander and Sophie would be more than happy to prick you if you need help," Zoey teased, and with that, the three of them were off.
"It feels so good to feel the sun," Sophie and Zander said at the same time.
"Yes, it does," Cyrus said. "So what's the plan, split up or attack together?"
"I think we should take out the biggest threat as a group first, then we can split up and take the smaller groups apart," Sophie said.
Sophie usually had the best strategy for these kinds of things, and since they followed her lead on the way into Haven, they all agreed to follow her lead inside the barrier and in combat.
With the reading set, a white light shined and showed the three of them the path to the 2 minotaurs, 4 werewolves and 4 vampires, who were actually the closest anyway.
The three headed out, Sophie and Zander in their phoenix form and Cyrus in his lightning bolt form, ready for battle.
As they approached the group, Sophie transformed her face to her human form and asked if she could try something on the new group.
Zander shook his head in approval and Cyrus continued in his lightning bolt form, which was good enough for Sophie.
Then the three of them got close, Cyrus landed on a large tree, about 30 feet above the enemies and Zander landed next to him, transforming into human form.
"I wonder what she is so eager to try?" Zander asked Cyrus.
"I'm not sure, but if it has anything to do with that pink magic, I'm sure it will be something awesome, kind of like you and you're golden magic," Cyrus said.
"Don't sell yourself short, Prince Cyrus, aka the human lightning bolt and Master of several magic types and Chi," Zander said, with a big smile.
As Sophie honed in on her targets, just told Scarlett, "This is going to work, I know it. This is going to work, I know it," to which Scarlett laughed and said, "If it does I get to fly for a while," to which Sophie gladly agreed.
Sophie started with the first minotaur, who stood about 15 feet tall, shouted 'Ethereal Flame!' and a burst of pink fire shot onto the Minotaur. When it latched onto him, the other Minotaur tried to put it out, but it spread to him as well.
The vampires and werewolves cast spells to try and stop the flame, but it just quickly spread and melted away the minotaurs.
One of the werewolves was unfortunate enough to get caught up in the flame, and could be heard screaming, "my arm won't regenerate, don't let that pink shit hit you," and he shortly perished after.
Sophie, a bit winded, flew to the tree and transformed into her human form. "I'm glad we can fly up to the sun after this, that took more out of me than I thought, can you two please go finish the remaining 7 off," Sophie asked while breathing heavily and sweating.
Zander formed a giant fireball in his hand, to which Sophie gulped down, but it didn't appear to restore her like it normally would.
"I mean it tasted good and gave me a little boost, but not like it normally does. It must be because I used the pink magic," Sophie said.
Cyrus had already flown threw all 7 of their hearts and landed back on the tree. Per Zoey's ask, Zander cooked them up a bit with some fire and shot a fireball into the sky.
Shortly after, Lister was there and said, "Long time no see gang! How's the big idiot doing? Has he figured out he's the Prince yet? Better question, does he still realize he's an idiot," Lister said and Zander repeated, to which they all started laughing.
"It's good to see you too Lister, here's a nice tasty treat for you, we know how much you love those. I'd avoid the 2 minotaurs and the werewolf with the pink stuff on them," Zander said, although it just sounded like hissing to Cyrus and Sophie.
Cyrus had tried to activate his bind with Sophie when Lister talked, but it didn't seem to work.
"What minotaurs and what werewolf? I see 3 dead werewolves and 4 dead vampires. What a delicious lunch indeed!" Lister said gleefully.
"I guess you completely melted them away, and it didn't seem like they could regenerate or put it out," Cyrus said.
"That's some powerful magic," Lister said to Zander, "bird girl and bird guy are funny, they're strange but very powerful and their auras are even more golden than they were before."
"So seeing if people are good or bad means you can see their auras, so that much be your blessing from Solace," Zander teased Lister, although Lister didn't realize Zander was teasing.
"Crap, I've said too much. Forget you heard that Zander," Lister said nervously.
"Your secret is safe with me, old friend," Zander said with a bow.
"Good, because I'm not supposed to tell anyone about it, well you three better be off, if I'm riding the bench you have work to do," Lister said as he wrapped himself around the three of them, one at a time again, just as he did last time and told Zander to say goodbye to the beauty and the idiot.
Zander repeated and Cyrus just shook his head, "maybe next time we won't cook him a meal,"
"Ok say goodbye to the Prince for me," Lister said as he went up and down Cyrus one more time and Zander said, "He said he's sorry and goodbye Prince Cyrus," Zander said.
With that, they followed their trackers and dealt with all the threats rather easily. Being in no rush to get back inside, they enjoyed the time outdoors, and Sophie and Zander let Zintan and Scarlett take over for a good three hours. It was nice to relax in the white space, it was a luxury they would never take for granted.
It was a weird sensation, to see and feel what Zintan felt, but Zander enjoyed it, as did Sophie with Scarlett, nonetheless. It almost felt like a dream, or in Zander's case, when he lived his life all over again, in his coma.
"This feels like the old days, doesn't it?" Cyrus asked and the three of them reminisced about being normal teenagers.
