Chapter 1 - Prologue

Welcome to the Backrooms. Make yourself at home.

Most of you have probably spent some unforgettable time in Level 0.

Good times.

In this six hundred million square miles of dim, yellow space, only time and corpses quietly decay.

When you lived in the Frontrooms, the place called Earth, you developed a strong interest in the legendary Backrooms.

Being a fan of the Backrooms, you also enjoyed weirdcore and various urban legends. So, you joined a circle where people's usual team-building activities involved exploring the unknown corners of the city.

During a routine exploration of some ruins, you discovered a room hidden in a dimly lit floor. At that time, global population disappearances were at an all-time high, and various conspiracy theories were rampant. These reports all pointed to multiple gateways to other dimensions gradually opening to the public, and these anomalous spaces were high-incidence areas for entering the Backrooms.

Perhaps something deep within the room attracted you, and you ignored everyone's objections and went inside.

At first, the ground was solid, but as you approached that something, the ground beneath your feet suddenly vanished into thin air, and then you found yourself here.

Fortunately, you were already familiar with the Backrooms' survival guide. As long as you find an anomalous space that differs from the surroundings, you can clip out of Level 0 and into Level 1.

The journey from Level 1 to Level 11 was fraught with danger, and you witnessed the violent deaths and disappearances of many companions. It's like those otaku who love shooting games; anyone who went to the battlefield for the first time would wet their pants.

When you, still shaken, luckily reached Level 11, all you wanted was to find a bed and lie down quietly for days.

After a long period of comfortable living, the restless you returned. Level 11 never has night, so people's routines are as "crisscrossed" as the streets, with pedestrians and open shops everywhere.

One day, you bumped into a group of urban ruin explorers on the street, including an M.E.G. agent. You greeted them warmly and asked to join their group chat. They looked at each other and gladly agreed to your request.

The physical structure of Level 11 is constantly changing like the movie "The Maze Runner," so you don't have to travel long distances to new places; the refreshing of nearby terrain is enough to bring you various surprises.

This kind of life lasted for about a year, during which you even got a new girlfriend. Until one day, you entered an abandoned library. When you picked up a "Library Rules" sheet from the ground, a white light suddenly enveloped you...
