Chapter 24 - All Holes Filled [With Peace]

Noa had countless options to spend his money on.

The first idea that popped up in his mind was to aid Aeris in paying the loan she had to take for his sake.

He also wanted to find a better apartment, spoil his family with lavish food, and buy items to strengthen himself.

Strolling through the streets, Noa considered visiting auction sites or marketplaces.

His reasoning was to buy stamina and mana recovery potions, but he changed his approach quickly afterward.

In all honesty, Noa was in an excellent position strength-wise, as the only items that could boost his performance weren't invented yet.

So his best approach would be to invest in resources he knew would change the world.

Browsing through the web, he searched for a small pharmacy called Tanaki's Mixtures.

Based on his memories from the game, Tanaki was an Ember who revolutionized Spirit Orbs and their usage.

Not only did he find ways to harvest and discover energy from them, but he also turned them into special pills.

These pills allowed humanity to survive when the apocalypse hit after the Six Abyss descended and the planet's pollution poisoned every human.

His Miracle Pills single-handedly saved Velrox from the brink of death, giving the world a chance to thrive.

However, before the catastrophe descended, his pills were used to boost the brain's performance and improve physique.

Even average humans could take them, increasing their lifespan.

Unfortunately, no matter how Noa searched for his name, he couldn't find a single trace of Tanaki.

'Guess I have to wait before he makes an appearance,' he thought, catching a taxi.

Though he wanted to buy better gear, his top priority was to spend time with his family.

Especially when the world was in chaos.

Reaching home peacefully, Noa just now realized how much he stank.

'Twins won't play with me,' he thought bitterly, knocking on the door.

"He is here!" a soft voice called out loudly.

"I will open the door!" yelled another.

"No, me."

"I said it first."

Adorable arguing sounds and stomping footsteps reached his ears.

Hearing their noises made him sneer like a child, anticipation flying out of his control.

"Butthead!" Sylas yelped upon seeing his face.

"Brother!" Seren hugged him, not minding his smell and filthiness.

Noa tried to get her out of his embrace. "I am dirty. I need a shower," he said, dodging their gazes.

Nothing could beat home.

The warmth and calmness seduced him to stay and never leave it.

Only now did he recognize how lonely he had been on Earth, and taking a quick bath, Noa scrubbed the nasty blood.

His clothes were unusable.

Using his echo just for freshness was an idea that constantly whispered in his mind.

After clothing himself and greeting the twins once more, Noa saw that Aeris had returned, lying on a couch, too exhausted to move.

"Howdy?" he said to her as Sylas bombarded him with questions.

Glancing his way, Aeris's eyes sparkled. "My workload has increased because of the stupid announcement," she paused, observing his condition. "What about you?"

"You know me. I am in exceptional condition," Noa answered cheerfully.

Then he squinted his eyes and pointed a finger at her.

"What do you think about leaving your job? You should allow me to support us. We are a family. We should lean on each other."

A smile flashed on Aeris's face.

She seemed proud and conflicted at the same time.

"I wanted to talk to you about the money you sent," she started, but Noa stopped her, raising his hand.

"Stop yapping and start searching for a new home. Buying it would be hard, but we can rent it no problem."

His voice was soothing, but the twins cheered, covering his speech.

Noa spent the next five minutes persuading Aeris, and with Sylas and Seren helping him, his attempt was successful.

They agreed to visit two two-story buildings by themselves.

On top of that, he was ready to pay for the accumulated debt, and hearing that it would soon reach $15,000, Noa thanked his luck for being blessed by God.

Settling the loan in one transaction would reduce his current amount by a lot.

So he chose to take his time and took his family for a nice dinner.

As for the shopping spree to spoil his siblings, Noa promised he would take them on another day because malls were already closed.

Not even Sylas complained, enjoying the luxurious food.

"Yummy!"

"Sweet!"

The children liked the ambiance of the fancy restaurant Noa had selected.

It was a place Arthur loved to visit with his squad from the academy.

With modern decoration, relaxing lights, and delicious meals, this place looked way better than the game could ever show.

Everything proved to be nicer in the real world.

Noa loved the game, but actually being in it, and with his new family, expanded his satisfaction.

The second day passed as fast as the first one.

New experiences dictated his life, changing his outlook and personality.

He had imagined Velrox countless times before, but not even once could he dream that everything would go this well.

Yet he knew it was too soon to be certain.

Roaming toward home, holding both of his siblings' hands, Noa was afraid of what would happen to the world he had come to love in such a short amount of time.

His palms were sweaty from the warmth.

Lips parted because of constant laughter, but the awful premonition that something might go terribly wrong never felt so strong.

Of course, the system had to crush his peace and declare bad news, as if reminding him that he wasn't favored.

[ The strong had trampled the weak. But the weak had never bent his knees. One human who tames the monsters would protect the world from shadows ]

It was an announcement that had never happened in the game.

After Arthur's transmigration was confirmed, the system fell completely silent, never uttering a single word globally.

Noa remembered the third important character he had to execute.

Someone who had gained an ability never seen before and was just as hidden and mysterious as him.

'This is getting interesting,' he thought with alarm and anticipation.
