In the First Year building, within a particular room designated for questioning and judging students accused of violating school rules, Silver sat with a few high-ranking officials. Their metallic chairs groaned slightly under shifting weight, surrounding a matching table at the center of the dimly lit room. Opposite them were three students seated uncomfortably, tension hanging in the air like a shroud.
Two of them were Mike's close friends—Tom and Grey—and the third was a female student, Lyza, Mike's younger sister. Her eyes were red and puffy, tears streaking down her cheeks as she tried to stay composed. It was clear that the trauma of her brother's death weighed heavily on her.
Silver had begun the questioning in a methodical manner, starting with those closest to Mike. His friends and sister were the most likely to provide the most insight, or at the very least, inconsistencies that could lead to the truth.
