Chapter 4 - A Mother’s Silent Struggle

The moon hung low over the small village, its pale light casting long shadows over the worn-out streets. Inside a dimly lit room, a woman sat beside a small crib, her delicate fingers gently stroking the cheek of her sleeping child. She was breathtakingly beautiful, her features soft yet carrying an unshakable strength. But her eyes, once filled with dreams, now held only exhaustion and sorrow.

Her son—her nameless child—had been born different. Unlike other babies, his eyes had never opened. At first, she thought it was temporary, but days turned to months, and months into years. No healer, no physician could explain it. They only called him cursed, whispering behind her back that fate had punished her for running away from her noble bloodline.

Yet, she never wavered.

Even as the people of the household—her own siblings and stepmother—treated her like a mere servant, she endured. Even when her brothers' wives sneered at her, calling her child a blind burden, she stayed silent. Because she knew—deep in her heart—that her son was special. That one day, the world itself would tremble before him.

But right now… he was just a fragile boy, too young to understand the cruelty of the world.

A Nameless Child's World

The boy sat in the small courtyard, his tiny hands feeling the cool surface of a stone. He didn't know what colors were, nor had he ever seen his mother's face. But he could sense her—her warmth, her kindness.

He had no name. No identity. Just "boy."

Yet, unlike others, he did not cry. He never fussed over his blindness. In fact, he smiled more than any child his age. He listened to the wind rustling through the trees, the soft humming of his mother as she worked, the way the villagers gossiped in hushed tones.

And somewhere deep inside him, he felt something strange—an instinct, a presence. As if something ancient was sleeping within him, waiting.

A Mother's Desperation

One evening, after being scolded by her elder brother for being "useless," his mother sat in the garden, holding her child close.

"You deserve a name," she whispered, voice heavy with emotion. "But I… I can't give you one yet. Not until you open your eyes and see the world for yourself."

The boy tilted his head, as if trying to understand her words.

His mother pulled him closer, her arms trembling. "I will not let them break me. I will not let them take you from me."

The stars above seemed to shimmer, as if listening to her promise.

From that night on, she made a decision. She would leave. She would find someone—anyone—who could help her son.

And so, the journey began.
