Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: The Rising Storm

The Thunder General's aura crackled like a living storm, the sheer intensity of his presence warping the air around him. Asura stood firm, his grip on his sword tightening as the electricity in the atmosphere surged with lethal intent. The ground beneath him quivered from the weight of their impending clash.

The remnants of the Thunder Kingdom's vanguard lay scattered across the battlefield, their warriors groaning in pain or motionless from the sheer devastation Asura and his allies had unleashed. But the battle was far from over.

A Dangerous Foe

"You truly are impressive," the Thunder General admitted, his voice deep and thunderous. "Not many can stand before me and live to tell the tale. But your arrogance will be your downfall."

Asura smirked, rolling his shoulders. "Arrogance? No. Confidence? Absolutely. You talk a lot, but let's see if your lightning can match my blade."

The Thunder General's eyes narrowed before he raised his hand, summoning a surge of crackling energy. The storm around him condensed into a single sphere of concentrated lightning. In the blink of an eye, he hurled it toward Asura with enough force to tear through mountains.

Asura moved instantly, his body becoming a blur. The sphere crashed into the ground where he once stood, exploding into a devastating shockwave that sent debris flying. But before the Thunder General could react, Asura was already above him, his sword descending in a powerful arc.

The Thunder General barely managed to raise his arm in time, a barrier of electricity forming around him. Asura's blade clashed against it, sending sparks flying in all directions. The impact created a shockwave that rippled through the battlefield, forcing both warriors apart.

A Clash of Titans

Without hesitation, the Thunder General charged forward, his fists crackling with raw power. Each strike he threw carried the force of a thunderstorm, but Asura met him blow for blow, his movements precise and effortless. The ground cracked beneath them as they exchanged attacks, neither willing to back down.

Lira and Shao watched from a distance, their hands gripping their weapons tightly.

"This fight is beyond anything we've seen before," Shao muttered. "Asura is holding his own, but that Thunder General… he's on a completely different level."

Lira nodded, her eyes never leaving Asura. "We have to trust him. But if things take a turn for the worse, we'll step in."

Back in the battle, Asura ducked under a devastating punch and retaliated with a swift kick to the Thunder General's ribs, sending him skidding back. But the moment Asura moved to follow up, his instincts screamed danger.

The Thunder General let out a guttural roar, his body surging with an overwhelming burst of energy. Lightning erupted from his form, shooting in all directions. Asura barely managed to raise his defenses before he was engulfed in the electrified explosion.

Smoke and debris filled the air. The battlefield fell silent.

A Power Unleashed

For a moment, the Thunder General smirked, thinking the battle had ended. But then—a gust of wind cleared the smoke, revealing Asura, standing tall. His robes were slightly scorched, but he was unharmed.

"That all you got?" Asura asked, his tone filled with amusement.

The Thunder General's smirk faltered. "Impossible… you should be on the ground, paralyzed!"

Asura rolled his shoulders, releasing a deep breath. "You see, there's a little problem with your lightning. It doesn't work on me. My body… it absorbs all forms of energy. Including yours."

A look of realization dawned on the Thunder General's face, followed by frustration. "Then I'll just have to hit you harder!"

But before he could charge again, Asura raised his sword, his aura shifting. A deadly, suffocating pressure filled the air. It was an aura unlike anything the Thunder General had ever felt before—something ancient, overwhelming, and boundless.

Asura's Supreme Martial Eyes glowed with an eerie light as he took a step forward. The ground beneath his feet shattered, and for the first time, the Thunder General felt something he had never experienced before—fear.

"This fight is over," Asura declared. "Now, let me show you what real power looks like."
