Ever since I was a child I always dreamed of what it was like to be an immortal cultivator, what it was like to fly high in the sky on a sword and look out on the world. What was it like to live for eternity? Every time I thought about it my chest would heat up and my heart would race! I wanted to see how high I could climb, no I needed to see how high I could go! This intense obsession for immortality never left me even when I met my eventual death. My only wish when I died was for my next life to let me finally accomplish my dream I always pursued.
I don't want my story to die here. Please… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …
NO! Why Should I ask! Will Heaven grant my request just because I asked! I won't let my story end here! Even if I have to carve out a path to immortality in my next life nothing will stop me!

In a remote village on the outskirts of civilization a newborn's cries could be heard coming from a brick house. Inside was a woman cradling a baby while a group of older women were cleaning up the place. The woman cradling the baby wasn't particularly old compared to the other women, she looked as if she was in her early 20's with messy black hair and shining emerald green eyes. She was holding a baby in her arms. The baby in particular was neatly wrapped in a burrito wrap. He had black hair just like his mother and shining green eyes.
"Congratulations Lily! It's a boy" One of the elderly women said. This made the mother who was trying to put the baby to sleep happy. Lily was having difficulty trying to figure out what to name him now that she knew that he was a boy. She was of course happy it was a boy but deep down she wanted a little girl she could play with.
"What should I name him" Lily said
"Well you should first think it over with your husband before you make a decision" one of the elderly women replied
Just on cue the husband burst through the door with an extremely excited look on his face. Just as Lily was about to say anything the husband instantly scooped the baby into his arms and squealed with glee. "Will you show some respect for your wife who just gave birth! Maybe you should be comforting her instead, Brandon." Another one of the elderly women scolded
Brandon was a tall lean guy he had brown hair with a tint of orange and blue eyes.
Realizing the mistake he just made Brandon quickly went up to Lily and wrapped one of his arms around her. Seeing this Lily couldn't help sign in exasperation.
"Well what do you think we should name him?" Brandon asked
"I was going to ask you that" Lily replied
"How about we name him Silas it means forest or wood, it would be a great name considering our family's connection to nature" Brandon said excitedly
"Silas huh…. I like it" Lily replied
While the happy Couple were talking a sudden change happened inside the sleeping baby it was as if his soul suddenly woke up
Slowly opening his eye Silas looked at his surrounding extremely confused
'Where am I? I thought I died'
"The last thing I remember happening was the car going out of control and crashing. So if that was happening why am I here?"
Looking around Silas saw his parents talking in his dimly lit cobblestone house
"This place certainly doesn't look like a hospital. Ah wait! Am I having one of those fever dreams created from my desires while my body is slowly dying in the hospital"
Coming to this realization Silas started feeling really pessimistic
"Well if I'm going to die I might as well have some fun living out this dream. I can't believe I died in a car accident when I was in the prime of my life, I always thought it would be a Heart attack or cancer. Well at least there's no pain" Silas said while sighing mentally
Before Silas could continue talking to himself he saw his father put his mother to sleep and walk out of the room
Looking around his room a little bit more carefully he scanned everything however besides the wooden door to his room, a few pieces of furniture , and the neatly plastered walls the room was pretty empty
After doing this Silas slowly felt his eyelids getting impossibly heavy. Sone Silas fell asleep but before sleeping he couldn't help but have a certain fleeting thought
'There's no way I actually reincarnated right?'
Over the next few months Silas noticed a lot of weird things happening, first of all time felt as if it was moving at a normal pace, usually in his dreams it would cut to black and he would be in a new place but for some reason he actually felt time moving normally. This really confused Silas
Another thing what struck him as odd was that he could smell things, usually in dreams smelling things was absolutely impossible
This just keep confusing him until the time her first experienced pain.
So far it had been an ordinary day, eat, sleep, and poop in his pants. However today something different happened. A object that was on the ledge of the shelf right above him fell and hit him on the arm
"Owch! Wait, is this pain!" Silas said in surprise.
Feeling this sudden bout of pain his baby body started crying out in distress. When Lily saw this she instantly picked him up and tried to calm him down
"Ok that's it, this can't be a dream, everything just feels way too real" Silas declared, this was the first time he has actually felt pain since entering this dream but it felt real. Too real "But if this isn't a dream then why wasn't my soul bleached when I reincarnated? Did heaven actually hear my cry?" Silas pondered
"Wait, if I was reincarnated could there be spiritual energy in this world?!" Thinking this Silas's blood surged and he started heating up "I need to know if there are cultivators in this world!"
"Oh no, how could I be so careless!" Lily said aloud. Lately she has been under a lot of stress. Even though Silas didn't cry very much she still had to deal with the burden of raising a child. Seeing her child cry for the first time in a while, while also heating up she started panicking.
Just before she was about to do anything Brandon walked into the room with a worried look on his face. Recently something weird had been going on in the nearby forest. Silas's village had a huge forest next to it that had been mostly explored by the guards of the village and it was considered relatively safe, however recently the animals have become distressed for some strange reason
"Brandon! Get over here quick! Silas is heating up" LIly started shouting in panic
Hearing this Brandon awoke from his stupor and rushed over to feel Silas's temperature asking "what happened to him?"
"Well I set him on the counter and something from the shelf fell off and hit him, then he started crying and heating up" Lily explained
Feeling the heat gradually vanishing he sighed in relief "Well he doesn't seem to be ill but just in case try not to dress him too much in case he is overheating" Brandon said
Hearing this Lily felt at ease and continued cooking dinner. Seeing his parents distress Silas realized that he has to be more careful or else they would worry like crazy about him.
After that incident Silas made sure not to do anything that could worry his parents, and like that life continued on for a few years. Silas spent those years slowly learning the language while also bonding with his parents, slowly but surely he started to really enjoy his new life here
Silas especially loved how his parents always threw him a huge birthday party every year. It was one of his favorite things in the world
In his last life he was never especially close to any of his family so he didn't really feel bad when he realized he would never see them again
Especially since they would often times forget his birthday and when they didn't he never had a party with any of his friends. He was still angry at them for that
'Although I really like my parents and my life here in general, if I want to cultivate immortality I will need to leave this all behind. In the future when I'm strong enough I will travel the world in search of spiritual energy! Nothing will stop ME!

This is my first time actually putting my heart into writing a story so I hope people don't judge to harshly
This is mainly a pet prodject I'm writing for fun so I probably won't upload regularly if you enjoy the story
And sorry if the story seems a little fast paced I'm still learning to write
