Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Broken Leg

"Xiao Bai gege, don't push yourself. Xun'er has a way!"

Xiao Xun'er thought that Xiao Bai was unaware of her capabilities. When he pulled her behind him to protect her, she felt both anxious and touched.

As for Ling Ying, he had no worries at all. The clan had left him here precisely because of his Dou Qi Dark Attribute's concealment abilities—his role was to handle errands and stay in the shadows.

Moreover, the young miss had instructed him not to reveal himself in front of that boy unless absolutely necessary.

With the means that the clan leader had left for the young miss, even a Dou Saint would struggle against her for a while. Against a mere three-star Dou Master, she wouldn't even need to use any special techniques—she could handle it herself.

"Don't worry, Xun'er. Just stay here and watch how your Xiao Bai gege smashes his damn head!"

Fixing his gaze on Wang Enforcer, Xiao Bai reassured Xun'er without even looking back. Then, he shouted at Wang Enforcer:

"You're too slow! If you want to fight, then hurry up! What's with all the stalling?"

With that, he directly charged at the short, chubby man and threw a punch at his chest.

Wang Enforcer was momentarily stunned when he saw Xiao Bai take the initiative to attack. This kid is that bold? He had originally intended to walk slowly, tormenting Xiao Bai psychologically before making a move, but now it seemed unnecessary.

Wang Enforcer didn't even try to block Xiao Bai's attack. A nine-star Dou Practitioner wouldn't be able to break his earth-attribute Dou Qi Veil, let alone this so-called nine stage Dou Disciple. He simply reached out to grab Xiao Bai.

"Boom!"

Wang Enforcer's feet skidded across the ground as he was sent flying several meters backward. He looked down at his chest in disbelief—the Dou Qi Veil covering it was now riddled with cracks like a spider's web. A mouthful of blood spewed from his mouth.

"Xiao Bai gege's body is already this powerful?"

A flicker of shock flashed in Xiao Xun'er's eyes. She was certain that punch contained no Dou Qi at all. It was pure physical strength that had shattered the defensive Dou Qi Veil of a three-star Dou Master, someone who specialized in defense.

Xiao Bai's body-tempering was something she was aware of, but she had never imagined that after five years, his physical body would reach such a terrifying level.

Just moments ago, she had been worried that Xiao Bai had only broken through last night and hadn't even started training his techniques yet. She thought he was just trying to save face by acting tough.

"This kid's body is quite something! To hone his physical strength to this level while still at the Dou Disciple stage?"

Ling Ying muttered softly, one hand holding a notebook and the other stroking his chin.

But in the next moment, he lost interest. Xiao Bai was already fifteen years old. The clan's few prodigies at that age were stronger than him, a Dou Huang. This wasn't particularly remarkable. Compared to them, Xiao Bai wasn't much.

Jia Lie Nuo was also dumbfounded. Staring at this version of Xiao Bai, it was as if he was seeing the dazzling genius from five years ago, the boy who had once shocked Wutan City.

"How is this possible? How could your physical body be this strong?"

Wang Enforcer lifted his head to look at Xiao Bai, completely certain that his previous punch contained no Dou Qi at all—it was purely physical strength.

"Heh… don't you know what the Dou Disciple stage is for? It's meant to nourish the meridians and strengthen the bones. Otherwise, why would I have stayed at this stage for so long?"

Xiao Bai chuckled playfully, his tone mocking.

'Are you f*cking kidding me? Who the hell stays at the Dou Disciple stage for five years just to refine their body? If that really worked, why would anyone bother breaking through? Wouldn't it be better if we all just stayed in that stage forever?'

Wang Enforcer cursed inwardly.

But beside him, Jia Lie Nuo's eyes suddenly lit up.

"Wait… does the Dou Disciple stage really have such an effect?"

Then, realizing he was already a six-star Dou Practitioner, he felt a deep sense of regret. Damn it! If I had known earlier, I would have stayed at the Dou Disciple stage longer. Maybe I'd be able to fight Dou Masters by now!

"Brat, don't get cocky. I was just careless just now. Otherwise, how could you possibly make me suffer?"

After catching his breath, Wang Enforcer stood up. He had not used a Dou Technique earlier, which was why he had been struck.

"Perfect! I wasn't using my full strength just now either. Come on, let's continue!"

Xiao Bai was actually worried that he would chicken out of the fight. Hearing Wang Enforcer say this, he was immediately excited.

Seeing that Xiao Bai was eager to continue, Xiao Xun'er was no longer worried. Instead, she was excited, clenching her fists and cheering mischievously:

"Xiao Bai gege, go for it! Smash his damn head!"

Hearing this, Xiao Bai was speechless. This girl really was a troublemaker!

"Mountain Shattering Fist!"

Seeing Wang Enforcer unleash a Dou Technique, Xiao Bai also clenched his fist and charged forward. Right now, he was presenting himself as a body cultivator. And body cultivators… were all about brute force!

"Heaven Frost Fist!"

"Cloud Dispelling Palm!"

"Wind God Kick!"

Xiao Bai shouted out the names of various Dou Techniques with great momentum, but in reality, there was not a trace of Dou Qi in his strikes.

Xiao Bai and Wang Gongfeng immediately clashed. Wang Gongfeng's Dou Qi was of the earth attribute, and most of his Dou Techniques were direct and forceful. This made Xiao Bai feel quite satisfied—fire and wind attributes were nothing but anomalies; earth was the most satisfying to fight against!

The Dou Techniques that landed on him did cause injuries, but they were minor. The Daoist Righteous Thunder of Yi Wood within his body quickly healed them. After each recovery, Xiao Bai could clearly feel a slight enhancement in his physical body.

Wang Gongfeng, on the other hand, felt incredibly stifled. He had been fighting for a long time, and his Dou Qi was nearly depleted, yet his opponent was still bursting with energy. Moreover, the boy's punches were incredibly heavy, forcing him to continuously consume large amounts of Dou Qi to reinforce his Dou Qi Veil.

If it weren't for the earth attribute's strong defensive capabilities, an ordinary three-star Dou Practitioner would have been defeated long ago.

Yet, when looking at the battle from the outside, Xiao Bai's clothes were torn and tattered, making it seem like Wang Gongfeng had the upper hand—at least, that's what a certain foolish young master thought.

"Well done, Wang Gongfeng! Keep beating him up for me!"

Jia Lie Nuo cheered excitedly from the sidelines, shouting at the top of his lungs.

Wang Gongfeng, however, was suffering in silence. This whole mess had started because of this idiot young master, yet he was the one getting beaten up.

Xiao Xun'er, on the other hand, remained calm. She was no fool. Her spiritual perception was sharp, allowing her to see the real situation of the battle.

Ling Ying was only briefly surprised by Xiao Bai's physical strength. As for the battle itself, he found it rather dull—the short, chubby man was about to lose.

Sure enough, after exchanging another punch with Xiao Bai, Wang Gongfeng staggered back several steps, fell to one knee, and coughed up a trickle of blood.

"I surrender!"

Wang Gongfeng could feel it—several of his ribs had been fractured from that last punch. A quick internal check confirmed that his dantian was almost completely drained. He had no choice but to surrender.

Without his Dou Qi Veil, he feared that the young man before him would punch him to death. What was supposed to be an easy job had turned into a nightmare—he had run into a complete monster.

Hearing his surrender, Xiao Bai stopped attacking. This fight had been immensely satisfying, giving him a clearer understanding of his physical capabilities. With his current physique, he could go toe-to-toe with any early-stage Dou Master.

"It seems I need to strengthen my body further. The next thunder is coming soon," Xiao Bai thought to himself. He was currently an eight-star Dou Zhe, not far from becoming a Dou Master.

The talisman's methods were always straightforward and brutal: as long as it didn't kill him, it would push him to the limit. Remembering the pain of the Righteous Thunder of Yi Wood entering his body, Xiao Bai shuddered.

And that was with the relatively gentle Daoist Righteous Thunder of Yi Wood. The next thunder, whatever it might be, would be far more violent. He needed to strengthen his body as much as possible before breaking through to the Dou Master level. Otherwise, while he might survive, the pain would be unbearable.

Pushing aside these thoughts, he turned his gaze toward the pale-faced Wang Gongfeng, no longer intending to attack him.

However, while Wang Gongfeng could be spared, there was someone else who wouldn't get off so easily.

Xiao Bai's gaze turned cold as he slowly walked toward Jia Lie Nuo.

Seeing the tattered yet imposing young man approaching him step by step, Jia Lie Nuo's legs trembled uncontrollably.

Xiao Bai's expression was indifferent, his gaze sharp. Jia Lie Nuo was terrified that the young man would kill him. He was the young master of one of Wutan City's three great families, still young, and had yet to fully enjoy life—how could he die here?

"W-What are you doing?! M-My second uncle is the head of the Jia Lie Family! He's a Grandmaster Dou! You better think twice before acting rashly!"

Jia Lie Nuo stammered, his body trembling violently. He wanted to run, but his legs felt like jelly. He collapsed onto the ground, unable to move.

"A Grandmaster Dou? Oh no, I'm so scared… What should I do?"

Xiao Bai leaned forward slightly, staring down at him, a faint smile playing at his lips as he spoke in a soft, almost gentle tone.

Then, he raised his foot and stepped down on Jia Lie Nuo's shin, applying slight pressure.

"Crack!"

"AAAHHHHH!"

A blood-curdling scream echoed through the entire street outside the tavern.

The surrounding crowd, watching from a distance, fell into an eerie silence. Seeing Jia Lie Nuo's leg bent at an unnatural angle and the young man with a gentle smile on his face, they couldn't help but shudder.

The young man had spoken softly, claiming to be afraid, yet he had calmly and effortlessly broken someone's leg. What a monster!
