Chapter 3 - Growth and Trouble

Crav woke up—there was a blissful silence, a blissful peace, unlike the chaos of what happened earlier. Crav tried to move but nothing happened, he tried again but nothing, he tried again and again but nothing. After what felt like days to the little Crab, he finallyfelt something—a tingle in one of his legs, attempting to move again there was movement, more and more.

Once he regained the ability to move, he realized he was hungry. Seeing a group of plankton he decided to hunt. After eating his fill, he felt his skin getting too tight, with what felt instinctual he left his exoskeleton. He decides to repeat this process—eat, grow, molt—over and over until his body grew wider and his tail noticeably shorter.

After Crav contemplates—whether he should find a new home—he decides to leave. Using a water current, he swam to a new location.

Landing on a rocky surface he looks around to see… nothing? It was barren—like a desert—there was nothing around just rocks. But sensing something he looks around, but he doesn't see anything.

After exploring the surrounding he luckily finds a colony of microscopic organisms, he ate as much as he could. While eating he felt that feeling again, but is disappeared again, not worrying about it he decides to molt.

After finishing he felt movement, movement in the water. He looks around then he sees a beast—it had a singular whisker-like strand on its chin—rushing at Crav, he ran. Remembering a little cave he saw while exploring, he rushes to it. Moving past rocks after rocks with the creature getting closer and closer he finds the cave, but wait it was too big—big enough for the beast to fit too. With fear in his eyes he looks around, back and forth then he sees a hole—just big enough to fit him—he swims as fast as he could, with the creature behind him and gaining the fish opened its mouth. With Crav just almost at the hole a bite could be heard. With Crav safely in the hole, he looks at his body, everything was intact, he felt relief, relief of surviving. With the chase draining his energy he decided to rest.

After resting he looks around, seeing nothing he books it, leaving as fast as he could. In his haste, he didn't see the current of water, getting pulled by it he landed in a new area… a bright area—full of color.
