Chapter 12 - Blood Wolf Mercenary Corp

Ding! "Female lead Jodie has experienced an intense emotional fluctuation. Congratulations, host, you've gained +500 Villain Points."

Ding! "Female lead Jodie's affection has increased. Congratulations, host, you've gained +800 Villain Points."

Ding! "Female lead Julia's affection continues to rise. Congratulations, host, you've gained +1000 Villain Points."

As the system notifications echoed in his mind, Veil couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction.

One move, double the rewards.

Twin sisters. What a joy.

He rubbed his forehead and took a deep breath, letting the redness in his cheeks gradually fade.

Did Kosdy Murphy really think he could get him drunk? What a joke!

In his past life, Veil had navigated countless business negotiations where the drinks flowed like rivers. He'd seen more than a few end up in the ER with stomach pumps and IVs—those were just normal Tuesday nights.

And that was before his physique had undergone a complete transformation. Now? He wasn't even sure what his limit was—but it was definitely far beyond a couple of bottles of wine.

He lay sprawled across the soft bed that still carried a faint, girlish scent, surrounded by pastel pink walls and posters of handsome idols in every hair color imaginable.

"A little fangirl through and through," Veil muttered to himself with a smile. "Cute girl, and a bit of a ditz. Not a bad combo—means she won't play dirty."

He took a deep breath, inhaling the warm fragrance still lingering in the bedding. Judging by the lingering body heat, Julia had probably been lounging in bed right before he arrived.

For now, there was no rush.

To the Murphys, he was fast asleep—dead drunk. If he suddenly got up to speak with Jodie about business or recruitment, it'd come off too calculated.

He closed his eyes and let himself drift into a light sleep, the kind that felt half-real, half-conscious. Maybe it was fatigue, maybe it was the soft scent that lulled him, but either way, he didn't fight it.

Creak—

He didn't know how long he had slept, but after the Murphy estate had quieted down, the door opened with a faint, almost imperceptible noise.

Anyone else might've missed it—but not Veil. His senses were far sharper now.

Clearly, this was someone very familiar with the place.

A light figure slipped quietly under the covers, trembling ever so slightly from excitement and nerves.

"Big brother? Handsome brother?" Julia whispered, testing the waters.

Veil gave a small twitch, turning over and continuing to feign sleep.

He had more important matters to attend to tonight. He needed to strike while the iron was hot and speak to Jodie about his true intentions. Julia's antics couldn't derail that.

Heh heh...

Julia let out a delighted little giggle and hopped over him to lie down on the other side of the bed, her wide, starry eyes locked onto his sleeping face.

"So handsome... Too bad I'm still too young. If I were a few years older, I'd already be begging Daddy to marry me off to him," she muttered, her voice filled with infatuation.

She couldn't stop staring.

The more she looked, the more she liked what she saw.

But did she really seem that brainless?

Was she just some silly girl who liked handsome faces?

Hmph! As if!

Veil wasn't just handsome—his background was terrifying. Even her own father had to tread lightly around him. And at dinner, he had publicly spoken up for her beloved sister.

And most importantly—he was drop-dead gorgeous.

When he smiled, it felt like she'd been tossed into a mountain of candy.

A man like this? Straight out of a romance manga!

She wasn't about to miss her chance.

Letting him sleep in her room might've seemed like hospitality—but she had her own little plans.

People thought she was a dummy—but most of the time, she was clever as hell.

"His nose is so high... Such long lashes... And thin lips... I wonder if they taste sweet?" Julia murmured, inching closer, inspecting every detail of Veil's face.

She leaned forward, lips pursed, just inches from his—

And stopped.

"This is kinda dumb, huh?" she thought, second-guessing herself.

This was her first kiss, after all. She hadn't even had a real conversation with him yet. Was it really okay to just give it away like this?

At the very least—

At the very least, he should be awake when she did it!

Such a shame...

She sighed softly and slipped under the covers again, curling up in his arms and resting her head against his warm chest. Her fingers couldn't help but wander over his toned abs.

That night, Julia was like a little explorer discovering a whole new world. She poked here, prodded there, and her courage only grew with time.

Ding! "Female lead Julia has experienced a spike of shame. Congratulations, host, you've gained +800 Villain Points."

After her bold little investigation ended in a scare—probably from something as simple as Veil twitching in his sleep—Julia bolted upright, her cheeks crimson, and fled the room like a criminal.

She didn't even close the door gently.

Veil finally opened his eyes and let out a sigh.

That girl...

She was even more ruthless than Lisa when it came to pulling a hit-and-run.

Three hours.

Three whole hours she spent next to him, groping and poking and whispering sweet nothings to herself.

He'd almost given up on his plans with Jodie—was even considering waking up just to school Julia on proper boundaries—when she suddenly bolted like nothing had happened!

No responsibility at all!

Still, despite the complaints, Veil didn't really dislike her. On the contrary—after seeing so much backstabbing and manipulation, this kind of harmless, silly innocence was kind of... refreshing.

And easy to claim.

But Jodie came first.

Both sisters? That could wait.

He fixed his clothes, glanced at the pink alarm clock on the desk, and saw that it was already deep into the night. Jodie had probably long since gone to bed, so he decided not to act tonight.

He lay back and fell asleep.

By the next morning, Jodie was nowhere to be seen in the Murphy estate.

While brushing his teeth, Veil bumped into Julia wearing a white bear pajama set.

The moment she saw him, she blushed hard and—without a word—spun on her heel and scampered off, pink slippers tapping rapidly against the floor.

After finishing breakfast at the Murphy residence, Veil finally got into the back seat of the Bentley amid a flurry of polite but empty farewells like, "Come by again when you're free!"

As the car pulled away from the estate, Kai, who was driving, let out a heartfelt sigh.

"Young Master, from now on, I swear—there's no wall I'd lean on to piss anymore. I'll only lean on you!"

He shook his head in amazement.

"The Murphys are a top-tier family in Veyport City, especially that Kosdy Murphy. The man built his empire from scratch when he was young, and now he sits on a fortune worth tens of billions.

And yet, Young Master, you visit him just once—and boom! He's practically in the palm of your hand!"

"'In the palm of my hand'?" Veil snorted. "That kind of phrase is better reserved for stunning beauties like Jodie. As for Kosdy? At best, you could say I made him submit.

But don't be fooled. Do you really think Kosdy sees me as a friend? Don't be taken in by his warm welcome—deep down, he's probably praying I disappear and never come back."

Veil paused, lips curling into a smirk.

"Kosdy? That name's too kind. I think we ought to add a little something—'Kosdy Dog' sounds more accurate."

Pfft—!

Kai couldn't hold back his laughter. Sure, Kosdy had been all smiles and manners, but Veil had played his part just as perfectly—showing utmost respect, acting the model junior, treating Kosdy like a revered elder.

And yet, the moment they left the property, he turned around and dubbed the guy "Kosdy Dog." Ruthless!

Kai had to admit—Young Master had changed.

These days, he might be all smiles on the outside, but who knew if he was cursing your entire family in his head?

Kai coughed to compose himself, then shifted his tone to something more serious.

"Young Master, the man from the Blood Wolf Mercenary Corps that you had us look into—he's arrived in Veyport City.

Also, there's been some unusual movement on Miss Alice's side."
