Under the stunned gazes of Dyson, Anna, and many others…
Security personnel from the Pokémon League arrived at the Pokémon Restaurant in under three minutes!
There was no need to wonder why—
This was undoubtedly thanks to Nathan reporting the situation through official channels.
It probably wouldn't be long before Shane Cloud, the branch vice president, gave him a call!
And sure enough,
Before Nathan even had time to make arrangements for Dyson and Anna, Shane's call came through.
He was acting like he wouldn't stop until the call was answered!
Scratching his head, Nathan sighed and said,
"You two should pack up and find a high-end hotel to stay at for now."
"I'll be setting up a studio in the next couple of days and will take care of your accommodation and safety issues too."
Originally, Nathan had planned to wrap everything up that very afternoon.
But this business with the Dark Spirit Organization had left him feeling uneasy.
Of course, it might not be the Dark Spirit Organization…
But the chances were slim.
After all, Pokéblocks didn't just represent current profit!
Once the technology was fully deciphered, refined, and optimized…
Just imagining the future potential—any rational person would see the massive pie hidden behind it.
The Dark Spirit Organization needed money too, after all!
"We'll head out first then. You take care of your business, Brother Nathan."
Sensing that Nathan wasn't in the best mood, Anna said her goodbyes and pulled Dyson along as they left.
It seemed that even now, Anna was still a little afraid of Nathan.
But judging from the way she looked at him sometimes...
Tch. Nathan couldn't help thinking this girl might be developing some form of Stockholm syndrome!
Feeling a bit self-absorbed, he chuckled to himself before finally picking up the call.
"President Cloud, what's got you calling so insistently?"
As he spoke, Nathan munched on the food still sitting on the table.
He was hungry, and honestly, even if the food had gone cold, he wouldn't mind.
"You say that like you don't know why I'd be calling you in a hurry!"
Shane sounded exasperated when he heard Nathan's voice.
Even though Nathan was now in Emerald City, he was still technically a trainer who came up under Shane.
So if the Pokémon League wanted to contact Nathan, they still had to go through him as a middleman.
Otherwise, either one of them might accidentally offend both sides!
"If you've got questions, just ask. I won't hold anything back."
Nathan shrugged and returned Metagross to its Poké Ball.
Given that this involved three legendary Pokémon, there was no way this was just a casual call from the vice president!
And sure enough…
Shane's tone suddenly turned heavy and serious.
"Nathan, are you absolutely certain your report about the Wandering Mountains is accurate?"
"This involves legendaries and two pseudo-legendaries at Champion level. It's hard to believe!"
(TN: This is so confusing. He literally mentioned he won't include the three legendaries in the report.)
No kidding—how did Nathan manage to walk away from a situation involving two Champion-level pseudo-legendaries and three legendary Pokémon?
If the Wandering Mountains were really so safe for humans, the League wouldn't have to assign missions there in the first place!
"Of course I'm certain. If you don't believe me, go ahead and launch an assault on the Wandering Mountains!"
"Maybe you'll even get some Dragonite or Tyranitar offspring. Who knows, the legendaries might even say hello~"
With a sneer, Nathan scoffed dismissively.
To be honest, he didn't buy that the League knew nothing about the Wandering Mountains.
The owner of that diary had thoroughly documented Tyranitar's habits—
How could the mighty Pokémon League not have collected data on two Champion-level pseudo-legendaries?
Not to mention Entei and the others.
Before he even went to the Wandering Mountains, Entei had been going on periodic rampages!
Ahem.
Shane cleared his throat awkwardly.
"I was just double-checking," he said with a wry tone. "No need to overreact."
"And if your intel turns out to be accurate, the League won't be stingy with your reward!"
Nathan's eyes lit up at that and he immediately beamed,
"That's what I like about the League—so generous!"
"Here, I'll even throw in a free piece of intel. Those three legendary Pokémon—fire, electric, and water types."
"Also, they don't seem to hold any divine roles or powers."
"You could say they're purely legendary combat Pokémon!"
Now that there were benefits involved, Nathan didn't hold back at all.
On the other end of the call, Shane rolled his eyes and laughed,
"Knew it—you never show your hand until there's something in it for you!"
"If you've got anything else hidden, spill it now!"
But Nathan shook his head and said,
"That's all I've been able to uncover."
"All I can say is—every legendary Pokémon is a walking disaster for humanity!"
"They're not something we can afford to provoke!"
No joke.
Just those Champion-level pseudo-legendaries were enough to pose a catastrophic threat to Emerald City.
Let alone true legendaries above level 80!
Honestly—
If those three legendaries from the Wandering Mountains joined forces, they could seriously cripple modern human society.
And that's not even counting the other legends—like the Legendary Birds or the Regis.
Even at least they are all level 88 or above!.
"You don't need to tell me that,"
Shane replied with another eye-roll, not taking the warning too seriously.
Ever since Champion-level Pokémon had started appearing, humans were no longer the undisputed rulers of this world.
But no one could deny the brilliance of human intellect either.
Aside from the legendary tier—which remained off-limits—
Even Master-level Pokémon could be nurtured by human trainers!
"By the way, can you help keep an eye out for something? You know about Pokéblocks, right?"
"It looks like either the Dark Spirit Organization or some disguised group is targeting them now."
Hearing this, Shane's face grew serious as well.
"I just got word on that. The Pokémon League has already begun a focused investigation."
"You just concentrate on your Pokémon training. This stuff isn't something a kid your age should be worrying about."
In Shane's view—
No matter how talented Nathan was, he was still just a teenager. You could even call him a child.
What he should be doing was training his Pokémon and enjoying life,
Not constantly getting involved in the world's dark underbelly.
It wasn't that he couldn't handle it—
But diving in too early could warp him permanently!
After a bit more idle chatting, Nathan finally hung up the call.
Sitting in his chair, he ate while mulling things over.
Why had the people behind all this waited until now to make a move?
Did Dyson and Anna really just stumble upon that Hunter's Diary by chance?
Thinking of a certain possibility, Nathan's eyes flashed coldly. He thought to himself:
"I hope you all behave. Getting blood on my hands too early would be a real pain."
It wasn't that he feared bloodshed.
He didn't even care if he had to kill a few scumbags.
But in a civilized society, one always had to wear a mask or two.
A teenager, a genius Pokémon trainer, going around slaughtering his fellow humans?
No matter the reason, the public would never accept that.
Nathan didn't care what others thought—
But until the public developed enough demand for Pokéblocks, he had to show a little restraint.
Just as he was eating and deep in thought—
The private room door suddenly opened!
A man in a suit walked in, followed by a pale-faced waiter.
That's right.
It was the very same waiter who had turned a blind eye when he heard the name "Mikel" and let that purple-haired punk do whatever he wanted.
"I'm Angelo Denton, the manager of this Pokémon Restaurant."
"Mr. Nathan, I sincerely apologize for how our staff's poor judgment affected your and your friends' dining experience."
"As an apology, you're welcome to dine at our restaurant free of charge for life."
Wearing a suit and a polite smile, Angelo was every bit the picture of professional hospitality.
He didn't really have a choice.
A lot of people had seen that gang of thugs enter the restaurant—
Only to be taken away minutes later by League security officers riding Arcanine!
That was Arcanine, for crying out loud!
That alone made the way people looked at the restaurant start to change.
And in less than half an hour, reporters had already shown up!
So yeah—Angelo hadn't come to see Nathan out of kindness. He'd been forced into it.
Noticing both Angelo's overly polite attitude and the waiter's mix of fear and resentment,
Nathan shook his head and said,
"No need to apologize. I probably won't come back here anyway."
"Now please step aside. I've got other matters to handle."
Maybe both Angelo and the waiter had their own reasons and stories—
But Nathan had no interest in listening to them.
