Chapter 16 - chapter 16

Time came to the next day.

After the baptism of the Grand Route, Dewey and his two companions' sailboat finally arrived at one of the seven starting islands.

This starting island is not "Whiskey Mountain".

This means that the route of Dewey and his two companions is different from that of the Straw Hat Pirates in the original work.

It is indeed not an easy task to choose the Straw Hat Pirates' route among the seven routes.

Dewey didn't care and was even relieved.

He is not a child of destiny like Luffy. He provoked Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, on the Island of Origin, and then got the Perpetual Pointer of Alabasta twice.

If his route is the same as the Straw Hat Pirates, then they will be in big trouble.

Behind the Whiskey Mountain is the "Little Garden" of the Ancient Island.

The magnetic force stored there takes a year.

Without an eternal compass, choosing that route would be suicidal.

"Is this the island of the Grand Line? It seems no different from the East China Sea!"

"It's very similar to Rogue Town. It seems to be very prosperous here."

The starting island that Dewey and his two companions arrived at was not in the shape of a cactus like "Whiskey Mountain", but a more ordinary island.

Arriving at the port, there are a lot of sailboats docked at the pier.

It doesn't look like the island of origin at all, but more like a member country of the World Government where a prosperous kingdom is located.

"Hey, new here!"

The sailboat arrived at a pier, and before it dropped anchor, enthusiastic shouts were heard from below.

Looking at the man on the dock shore, Dewey and the other two looked at each other.

So, the three of them divided the work, Nami and Kalina took down the sails and dropped anchor, while Dewey jumped down.

"New here, which sea are you from? Would you like to buy a beginner's guide?"

The man took out a book and tried to sell it: "For only 100,000 Baileys, you can get a very detailed guide to the Grand Route. From now on, you will no longer be unfamiliar with the Grand Route."

"No, thank you."

Dewey politely declined at first, then asked, "How do you know we're new?"

"It's simple. This port is specially designed to receive newcomers like you."

Seeing that Dewey was not fooled, the man's enthusiasm cooled down, but he did not give Dewey a cold look. Instead, he patiently answered his questions: "You are very lucky. Among the seven routes, the starting island of this route is the best. Newcomers who enter this route can be said to be lucky people who are favored by darkness."

"Oh, why?"

Dewey raised his eyebrows and asked.

"It's simple. This is the territory of the dark world."

The man turned and pointed in the direction of the center of the island, where there stood a tower-like building with three flags hanging on it. He said, "Do you see those three flags? This is the territory of the Don Quixote Family, which specializes in providing arms to newcomers, the Golden Emperor, whose business is spread all over the world, and the underground loan shark tycoon Fukushin. No one dares to cause trouble here, because anyone who causes trouble here will be hunted down by these three major forces."

"I see. Thank you for your reminder."

Dewey nodded, took out a ten thousand dollar bill and handed it to the man, then asked again, "What is the name of this island?"

"The old name has been forgotten, and now everyone calls it the "Dark House" or the "Pirate Supply Station."

Seeing Dewey's tact, the man looked at him with a more agreeable look. He then took out a map from his bosom and handed it to Dewey, reminding him, "This map shows several shops that sell the first half of the Grand Line and specialties from the New World. You can go and have a look, but the prices of those things are a bit high."

At the end, the man still did not give up and asked: "By the way, you really don't want to buy a copy of the Grand Route Guide?"

"No, thank you."

Dewey still politely refused.

These guys who specifically target newbies can be found in every world.

After sending the man away, Dewey handed the map to Kalina who was coming down the ladder.

"An island ruled by the dark world? This is the first time I've seen it."

Karina looked at the two symbols on the map and exclaimed, "It turns out that this is a joint rule of the Don Quixote Family, the Golden Emperor, and the God of Fortune!?"

"Do you know these three forces?"

Dewey said with some surprise.

"Of course, the Golden Emperor is the richest man in the world, and the Don Quixote Family and the God of Fortune are underground loan sharks, which are giant forces in the dark world."

Karina rolled her eyes and said, "Just like pirates know the Pirate King and Whitebeard, thieves and bounty hunters in the dark world like us are not unfamiliar with the "Don Quixote Family" and "Fortune God". The former specializes in selling drugs and arms, and the latter specializes in lending money to others. In the dark exchange, these two forces are very popular among pirate groups who want to make a comeback."

"I see."

Dewey, who only knew about this world from the original novel, nodded in sudden realization.

"A force that can even control the Grand Line? How terrifying."

Unlike Kalina who is good at gathering intelligence, Nami, whose vision and experience are limited to the East China Sea, only thinks that these three forces are very terrifying.

"ah..."

Kalina nodded in agreement.

In fact, that was the extent of her knowledge.

The most terrifying forces in this world, apart from the World Government that has ruled the world for eight hundred years, are the Navy Headquarters which serves as the face of the World Government, the four sea emperors of the New World, and the Revolutionary Army which is in hiding with the aim of overthrowing the World Government.

Excluding the Revolutionary Army, the "Seven Warlords of the Sea" are known as the three major forces together with the Navy and the Four Emperors. Except for a few individuals, the rest are not to be feared unless they unite.

The reason why the "Don Quixote Family", "Golden Emperor" and "Fortune God" were able to plant their flags on this island was largely because it was one of the starting islands. It was not of high value to pirates and could easily be destroyed by the young men from all over the world.

At the same time, their flag-planting will instantly revitalize the local economy and make it prosperous.

"I didn't feel anything in the original novel, but after it became the real world, Doflamingo is really a terrifying existence."

Walking on the road leading to the center of town, Dewey thought to himself.

His plan might offend this great pirate who is a Celestial Dragon, the Joker, the Dark Broker, the King of Dressrosa, and one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Amayasha.

"Two years!"

Dewey made up his mind: "I will try to have the ability to deal with it within two years. At worst… I will be able to escape!"
