Chapter 5 - No Thoughts Head Empty

Three days had passed since my encounter with Tonks, and Pyra and I decided it was time to act.

We had a simple game plan. Open up a portal leading directly in front of the Room of Requirement, and take the Horcrux and anything else not nailed down. We would keep the interesting stuff and sell off the rest.

I even went and carved out a sort of storage space for it on our island. Well… I more or less just melted a giant hole into one side of the rocky cliffs and connected it directly to our house. By my rought 'calculations' we could fit shit ton of stuff there.

The only problem was that it had left me with a literal mountain of obsidian, and while I liked how the stuff looked, I didn't know what to do with it, so I just let it sit in the sea for now. Maybe I'll find some use for it in the future.

"Everything is ready, it's time to go." Pyra said after looking over the prepared space for our treasure.

"Let's get this show on the road! Porta Mundus!" I called out excitedly. The portal opened, and what greeted us on the other side was a tapestry with a guy surrounded by dancing trolls. An odd choice of decor for sure.

'I need the room of hidden things.' I thought about what I wanted while I paced in front of the garish tapestry. We had to be quick about it, because just a single look at the wards would immediately give us away, and we knew that Dumbledore watched those like a hawk, but even he could not watch them all the time. The man had to sleep, which is why we chose to do this at five in the morning.

Fortunately for us, the door leading inside the room quickly appeared, and without wasting our time, we ran inside. The room of hidden things looked like a junkyard. There was no order to the madness. Old books were stacked almost to the ceiling, and cabinets overflowed with broken items. Mugs, plates, and old school robes were scattered across the floor.

"I can feel the magic of the Horcrux. Come on, it's this way." The magic leaking from the thing felt unmistakably heavy and murky, like oil spilling into the room's magic.

I followed the feeling, taking a left turn by the broken globe, going past a mannequin with its lower half missing, and finally climbing over a hill of what I assumed were at least two hundred-year-old bed sheets. Then a heavily warded box was before me. Not that it would stop me. While the diadem was a neat thing, I didn't care for it. Why the hell would I need to be smarter anyway?

"Let's try out the other spell you've made for me. Infernum Mors!" Because I didn't use much power, a snake the size of a boa constrictor made of green tinged flames erupted from the tip of my wand and flew straight at the box. Unlike the basic Fiendfire, this spell was easy to control, so I made the snake swallow the box whole. Because the snake was made out of fire, I saw the black smoke appear briefly once the diadem got destroyed, before it too burned down to nothing.

*clap* " Well, that's that. Only two more Horcruxes to go." One was at Gringotts and the other at Grimmauld, they werewas not going anywhere.

"Now onto the important stuff. Let's go back to the door and clear out some space. It's about to rain treasure!" Once we had done that, I opened up another portal, this time, leading directly into the hole I called a treasury.

"Accio Galleons!" I poured a lot of power into the spell, the room was incredibly huge, and I wanted to get all of them at once.

*BOOM* *shing* *shing*

"Oh fuck! Shit. Get on the ground, Pyra!" I yelled when something whizzed just an inch past my face. Oops, mistakes were made. I got the galleons alright, only they were all flying right at me, and if the noise coming from the back of the room was anything to go by, we were about to be under heavy bombardment.

"What the hell, Emily?!" She yelled when she dropped right next to me.

"SORRY!" I tried yelling over the sound of crashing furniture. The good thing about this was that the galleons were being neatly piled by the door.

After a minute, the sounds stopped and I warily turned my head to look at the money. And Jesus Christ, there was a pile of it.

"hehehe~ Hahaha! We're rich!" I started giggling when I saw it, and soon I broke into a full belly laugh. There were so many galleons.

"That's nice and all, but that little stunt completely wrecked the room." Pyra huffed and rolled her eyes.

"Really? Hmm~ Still looks the same to me." I shrugged. Even if we didn't get anything else, the Galleons alone were worth the trip. Oh, and I guess I got the Horcrux too.

"Please… next time use less power. Or at least warn me!"

"Yea yea… Should I try gold next?" I asked with a giddy smile.

"Might as well, though I doubt there will be much of it, it's just a school after all."

"eh… Accio gold!" I called out and waited… and waited? Huh. Nothing.

"Maybe I was too vague? Accio golden cups!" And this time it did something. A bit of rattling was heard underneath all that rubble for a brief second, before half a dozen cups flew towards me.

"Don't tell me I have to name every piece of cutlery… Ugh, we'll be here all day."

"Let's move this stuff back onto the island first. I don't want it hitting us in the back by accident." I floated our initial haul through the portal and unceremoniously dumped it in the middle of the room, and promptly closed the portal. Pyra must have seen something on my face because she just sighed.

"*sigh* I know you want to do it again, Emily. I'm just— I'm just going to hide behind that pillar over there." She pointed at a pillar close to the door.

"Hehe~ You know me so well." I grinned at her and waited for her to hide.

"ACCIO GOLD!" I took a deep breath, concentrated on gold, and then used all of my power to cast the spell.

"Protego!" I cast the shield charm and watched as numerous rings, earrings, necklaces, buttons, knives, forks, plates, you name it, it was flying at me right now.

*ding* *ding* They kept hitting my shield, sliding down and piling in front of me until they reached my knees.

I then repeated the process with silver, which came to me in the form of silverware, jewelry, and a bunch of what I assumed were anti-werewolf weapons. Trying the same thing with precious stones yielded only a couple of them. I guessed they must have dislodged themselves from some of the jewelry in here.

"Pyra! You can come out now. I got all the valuables."

"*whew~* That's a lot more stuff than I was expecting. Now we just need to look for the artifacts, and we're done here." She gave out an impressed whistle as she looked over the giant pile.

"There are not that many of them that are still functioning, and I'd bet that most of the magical signatures I feel are just lost wands. Accio Wands!" I cast, and about twenty or so wands flew to me.

"See? Mostly wands. That leaves eight actual artifacts buried underneath all that junk." We found three uncracked crystal balls, two plant pots with runes carved on them, a beautifully made telescope, a necklace of some sort carved out of ivory, and a full set of Quidditch balls.

"I feel like a dragon starting its hoard. Look at all this stuff, Pyra." I exclaimed when we transported everything back into the cave.

"You sure act like it. For a while in there I thought you'd go all 'MY PRECIOUSss~~' "

"Really? Gollum?" I rolled my eyes, but how did she know I wanted to do that?!! ARE YOU READING MY MIND PYRA?! HUH?!

"I'm not reading your mind, Emily."

"That's what a mind reader would say!" I shouted and tried to block whatever mind waves Pyra was shooting from her eyes with my hands.

"I— Ughh." She tried to say something but ended up just groaning.

"Haha! I'm just messing with you. I obviously know that to block telepathy you need tinfoil. I'm not stupid."

"Okay, sure, yeah, why not." Poor Pyra lost all will to fight.

"Quick question. Totally unrelated. How many times did you hit your head as a child?"

"A lot actually! One time I slammed my head into the pavement so hard I temporarily went blind! That was very scary." I reminisced about my eventful childhood.

"Ah— That explains a lot. Are you sure there weren't any lasting consequences?"

"Of course there weren't. I'm fit as a fiddle!" I said, flexing my muscles. The fact that I had none didn't stop me.

"If you're sure…" She said hesitantly.

"Mhmm~ I'm sure. Now let's go, I want to duel Dumbledore for the wand."
