Chapter 30
Lin Bai and Xiao Wu left the Star Dou Forest in a flurry of noise.
By the time the Titan Giant Ape returned, the area was in complete disarray. The wind had long since scattered their scents, leaving almost no trace. Enraged, Er Ming pounded his chest and roared into the sky.
"Damn humans! Give me back my little sister, Xiao Wu!"
Far to the north, on a secluded path beyond the forest, Lin Bai and Xiao Wu came to a halt. Lin Bai had chosen this spot for a specific reason—he wanted to test his mad soul skill.
"Stay back," he warned. "Once I lose control, use your charm ability to bring me back."
Xiao Wu smirked. "Don't worry, leave it to me." She had been itching for a chance to land a hit on Lin Bai, and this was a golden opportunity.
Lin Bai nodded and summoned the Ruyi Spear. A yellow and a purple soul ring hovered beneath him, slowly rotating. The moment he activated his second soul skill, his soul power surged violently. His eyes turned blood-red as his rationality faded, allowing his physical potential to fully awaken.
Within his spiritual space, the once-calm sea of his consciousness became turbulent, like a storm-tossed ocean. Spiritual waves crashed violently, but at either end stood his dragon visualization and Cupid's arrow, each suppressing the riotous energy.
"It's intense, but I can control it."
Lin Bai clenched his fists, reassured by the sheer power coursing through him. With a sudden burst of strength, he leaped over ten meters in an instant.
A 50% boost in all attributes translated to a combat effectiveness far beyond that percentage. Against opponents of the same level, this ability was a game-changer.
"The only drawback…" Lin Bai muttered, frowning. The extreme compression of his soul power and dragon blood limited his madness to a single battle. "A quarter of an hour isn't enough."
Greed was human nature, and Lin Bai was no exception.
Xiao Wu, meanwhile, crossed her arms. "That's it?" She retracted her Silky Bone Rabbit Martial Spirit, somewhat disappointed. She had hoped to see Lin Bai struggle, yet he had mastered the skill too quickly.
Unaware of her thoughts, Lin Bai was satisfied with the experiment. He had gauged his limits—that was enough. With that, they returned to the town, renewed their lease, and boarded a carriage bound for Notting City.

Tiandou City – The Palace
In the opulent halls of the palace, Qian Renxue sat with a letter in hand—a response from Qian Daoliu. She read it with an impassive expression, having already anticipated its contents.
*"Xue'er, your mother loves you. No conflict within a family is unsolvable.*
*"Don't neglect your training. The affairs of Tiandou City can be set aside—Wuhun Hall does not lack a Title Douluo. But the Qian Clan needs you to step forward and uphold our ancestors' glory."*
Qian Renxue closed the letter, her golden eyes narrowing. "Grandfather… you're hiding something from me."
She had long wondered why Bibi Dong had discarded her. Even if it was part of a scheme to destabilize the Tiandou Empire, why send her into danger? Why not keep her under close watch?
In the silent room, only the sound of her steady breathing remained. She ignited a small flame in her palm, watching as the letter turned to ashes.
A voice interrupted her thoughts.
"Was that a reply from Qian Daoliu?"
Lin Bai's voice was low and knowing. "Let me guess—he dodged your question."
Qian Renxue stiffened. She released a pulse of soul power, sweeping the ashes away before pouring herself tea. "You're here. Yes, Grandfather refused to answer my doubts. But why should I believe that you, of all people, have the answers he's withholding?"
Lin Bai chuckled. "I can't prove it. But unless you have another way, no one will tell you the truth—at least not until Qian Daoliu is gone."
His words struck a nerve.
Bibi Dong was too consumed by hatred, and Qian Daoliu was too bound by loyalty. Qian Renxue didn't need to be told this—she already knew. She had seen it in their actions.
Her grip on the teacup tightened. "Then I don't need to know. If they're keeping it from me, it must be for my own good."
Lin Bai smiled faintly. "That's what you want to believe. But what if they're hiding it… for the sake of Wuhun Hall's stability?"
The teacup cracked. Tea spilled over her fingers, but Qian Renxue didn't react. Her voice was sharp. "I won't fall for your tricks."
"Then don't," Lin Bai said simply. "You already know the truth. Their secrecy might be for your protection, but it's also to protect Wuhun Hall itself. I'm not trying to sow discord—just pointing out the obvious."
He watched as her expression shifted from denial to doubt, then to reluctant acceptance. It was the look of someone realizing they had been deceiving themselves.
Still, she resisted. Silence stretched between them. Lin Bai thought she would reject him outright.
But then—
"I agree to your terms."
Her decision came from more than logic. The Seraphim Martial Spirit was one of dominance and control. A person bearing it could not allow anything to escape their grasp. If there was a truth being hidden from her, she would uncover it.
Qian Renxue's posture shifted, her tone turning professional. "How do I cooperate with you?"
Lin Bai's lips curled into a smile. "Nothing drastic. Just train using your original martial spirit instead of resisting it. The more you embrace it, the closer you'll get to uncovering what Bibi Dong is hiding."
She nodded. "Fine. I'll cooperate. Just don't go back on your word."
Qian Renxue then called out, and within moments, two figures entered—Sanxue and She Long.
"Young Master, your orders?"
"I'll be training in my angelic form for the next few months. Your job is to conceal my aura from prying eyes."
It was a difficult task, requiring constant focus to suppress the fluctuations of her god-level martial spirit. Yet, neither Titled Douluo hesitated. Without question, they left the room and began setting up the necessary precautions.
Lin Bai watched them go with a hint of envy. "You have two loyal subordinates."
Qian Renxue's expression remained unreadable. She had grown up with such treatment—loyalty, obedience, unwavering faith in her future. It was only natural.
Summoning her Seraphim Martial Spirit, she spread three pairs of brilliant white wings. A divine radiance surrounded her as heaven and earth's vitality instinctively surged toward her.
This was the power of a god-level martial spirit. This was the birthright of the one who possessed innate rank 20 soul power.
And now, she would no longer resist it.
