Chapter 18 - FATIGUE CHIP C+

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Vibrations ran through the Eld-Spire as it transported its occupants to their next destination.

The occupants; a young man, with dreamy blue eyes and a cute looking girl in sports jersey; a projection.

Dummm!!!!!

A soft thud ran through the Eld-Spire as it came to a stop.

The halt of the Eld-Spire as it came to a halt, quickened Rex's heartbeat. As he inched closer to the now slowly opening slit; the exit from the Eld-Spire, his breathing was slowly hastining, as he moved X L stood back studying his move. He turned back to X L, "Let's do this".

With that statement, Rex was out of the Eld-Spire as he moved towards the nearest vine outcrop, so he could lighten up the room. As he placed his hands on the vine, mentally increasing the brightness of the space. He was met with the vision of dozens of Neo-Life Tortoise who stood frozen, the lightning seemed to have disturbed their peace as they slowly turned to acknowledge the source of the disturbance.

As Rex was met with the vision of this several Neo-Life toroise, which he was pretty sure that his continued existence would definitely annoy.

He was already dashing toward the incompletely sealed Eld-Spire before his mind came to the same conclusion; he could not handle that amount of attacks on a whim.

"I NEED A PLAN!!!!!"

Rex screamed in his mind as he ran back towards the Eld-Spire. The several dozens of Neo-Life creatures didn't stare for long, before coming to a decision.

"Dumm!!! Dumm!!! Dumm!!!" Heavy Vibrations were sent through the hall, with the chaotic foot stamps of the Neo-Life Tortoises as they dashed forward towards Rex.

X L had not moved an inch from the Eld-Spire as Rex dashed back in, panting madly.

"Did--You--, Did You know --- About that X L" Rex asked in between gasps.

"Ehhhh----"

X L brought her hand to her jaw in a thinking pose, with a mischievous grin hiding on her face, As the Eld-Spire completely sealed back, Rex frantically pressed the next higher digit on it's control interface. The Eld-Spire was already showing signs of opening for the Dashing Neo-Life creatures.

Grrrrrrrr!!!!, a dull vibration ran through the eld-spire as it came to life, Rex's action seemed to have prompted it to stop the opening action and initiate movement.

"You need to establish a fatigue meter," X L voice rang through the dull vibration of the Eld-Spire, capturing Rex's attention and avoiding his question.

"New players often establish this as part of their newbie missions, but as you have not had access to do so, you currently do not have one."

"Wow!!!, Isn't that like a cheat ability for me right now?" Rex asked as a mischievous grin appeared on his face.

"It doesn't work that way," X L replied cooly, already ascertaining Rex's thought. "The fatigue still builds up, only that you can't monitor it, and it's not properly calibrated into the system."

"Ehhh, I don't have a problem with that, It's just about feeling fatigued right?"

 "Nope"

"Once the fatigue reaches a critical level, the system just shuts your avatar down," X L replied to Rex, her words like cold water, extinguished Rex's excitement.

Rex was reminded of his encounter with the first Neo-Life, how he had passed out immediately after his battle.

"How do I go about it?"

"You have access to purchase a one-time lifetime access to Fatigue meter at the Market hub."

"Ehhhh!!!"

"Cause of your special situation, you can purchase the fatigue feature for 50S."

"50 Silver Coins!!!!!"

"You are kidding right, X L"

Rex said with an unreadable expression.

He brought up the storefront icon that had given him the "Vial of Rage" as a welcome gift.

Its contents spread out like bubbles in his POV.

Most of the bubbles were grayed out except a bubble in which a golden hue highlighted an S.

As he focused on the golden bubble, it expanded, displaying 5 items.

Neo-Pod E (Can be used to store a single living organism of E grade or Lower for 72hrs)

Vial of Rage F (Boosts Strength by 3 points for 10 mins)

Cosmic Enhancer F (Increases regeneration of Cosmic Energy by 30% for 30 mins)

Chrono Slurp F (Boosts Speed by 3 points for 10 mins)

Fatigue Chip C+(Can be used to permanently activate "dynamic fatigue meter")

Fatigue Chip C+ : Cost 50S99.99% discount applied [50000S]

"Ehhhhh" Rex grimaced, sneaking a peek at X L, They were straight up, ripping him off.

This feature would cost him half of his current in-game networth

Her expression was unreadable.

"X L, do all players have to purchase this feature"

"NOPE, for mainstream players, the system automatically infers their capabilities, as they complete the newbie set of missions".

"These calculations are static, in that when they gain new abilities, it takes some time for their new capability to be estimated by the game's system"

"But with your growth rate, if you were to employ this traditional path, the system will never be able to fully ascertain your capabilities to establish your fatigue meter'

"Paying for this special feature will allow the system to allocate more processing power to analyzing your capabilities and establishing a Fatigue Meter for you."

"Ahhhhhhh," Rex grumbled with an ugly expression. He definitely, did not want to let go, of half of his wealth.

"Dumm!!" The Eld-Spire came to a final stop, it had reached it's destination.

"I should use all my resources to ensure I succeed in this class quest, but I also can't spend my wealth uselessly." Rex thoughts were torn between purchasing the fatigue chip or not"

He took another look at X L, who was hardly visible in the darkness of the Eld-Spire.

As he turned his face back from the direction X L, would have been.

Rex came to a decision, or rather, he accepted his decision.

He had already made up his mind, the moment he saw the C+ tag on the "Fatigue Chip".

He focused his gaze on the "Fatigue Chip.", as he did so, a purchase tag popped up on his POV.

The moment Rex tapped on the green lit purchase tab.

A string of words appeared in his POV.

....Binding Chip 3%..

Not waiting for the binding process to complete, Rex made his way out of the Eld-Spie.

He was met with a very dimly lit carven.

"Huuu...."

The lightning of the space slowly improved as Rex adjusted it via the vine outcrop.

"Wowww"

An exclamation left Rex's mouth as he could spot rows of stacked tools in the carven.

"Seems I can finally get myself a weapo..." his words were cut short as he spotted a humanoid figure sitting at the center of the cavern.
