Chapter 6 - Newt's Suitcase part 1

Before writing, I remembered that I needed to check my talent, Natural Charm. The day before, I had seen in my memories that people found peace in my presence. I needed to understand more about this irregularity.

"System, explain Natural Charm," I commanded.

[Ding! Natural Charm not only enhances the host's charm but also emits a soothing and calming aura. Staying around the host for an extended period slows aging and accelerates the healing process.]

So, I'm not only a superstar but also a living hospital.

"System, why did you never inform me about this before?" I asked.

[Ding! The host never inquired about it before.]

With my doubts cleared, I began writing today's diary entry.

Dear Diary,

Another wonderful and peaceful day in this new life. Except for the occasional rain, everything seems perfect. Watching today's downpour, I couldn't help but think about Hermione. To be honest, she was almost like a cat in her behavior—both hated rainy days and both were moody. She had always been a drama queen. Thinking about her, I recalled how she meticulously created study schedules before every school year and exam season. She would decorate them with colorful markers, making them look like pieces of art rather than timetables.

Today, while helping Grandpa Jacob in his bakery, I saw two friends studying together. Watching them reminded me of the times Hermione managed our study group in my previous life. Outside the classroom, she was a curious and courageous girl, but inside, she transformed into the ideal top student. Harry, Neville, Ron, and I often suffered under her strict study regimes and scoldings.

Ah, how can I forget Mr. Potter? My greatest, dumbest, closest brother, who always seemed to have the worst luck on rainy days. He used to tell us that his aunt would make him water the plants even during the rain. While his cousin, Dudley, had his own umbrella, he often snatched Harry's, leaving him to walk home drenched.

Perhaps the only person who genuinely loved the rain and thunderstorms was our favorite professor—Dumbledore. Wait… in this life, he's my Grandpa! Hehehe. But still, he used to enjoy standing in the rain, letting it wash over him, finding music in the rumbling thunder and flashing lightning. In my past life, I often suffered due to his eccentric behaviors.

To be honest, it's difficult to forget those days. But now, I am in a new world, a new life. Everything has changed. Those who were once my closest family are now strangers. Maybe it's for the best. I can only pray that these happy days continue for a long time.

Let's pause here. I'll continue tomorrow.

Yours truly,

Cain Kowalski.

....

As soon as I closed the diary system, the diaries present with Harry, Hermione, and Ariana began to glow.

Seeing the diary illuminate, they instinctively picked it up and started reading.

Hermione gasped and dropped the diary in surprise. Her eyes darted to the study routine pinned on her desk, carefully decorated with colorful markers. She couldn't believe what she was reading. The diary seemed to understand her completely. Could this mean she is really a witch? Moreover, the entries mentioned studying together, implying that Cain was her age. She wanted to ask her father about the diary but was halted by an unexpected force pressing against her heart. A sharp pain gripped her, making it impossible to utter a word about the diary to anyone. Bewildered and restless, she knew it would be a sleepless night.

Harry, on the other hand, stared at the diary, his mouth agape. The statements written about him were eerily accurate. No one knew about his dislike for rainy days—except Cain, who had described it perfectly. A warm smile crept onto Harry's face as he read further. The diary spoke of their close bond, as if they were brothers. He had always longed for someone who genuinely cared for him, and now, he had proof that such a person existed. With thoughts of the day they would finally meet, Harry fell asleep with a rare, contented smile.

Ariana had been swinging gently, lost in thought. The twilight realm had been her home for what felt like an eternity. Time here was meaningless, but she occasionally overheard wizard souls whispering about her brother. Then, a few days ago, the diary had appeared before her. At first, she had been shocked by its contents. Could she really return to Earth? She had tried to share this revelation with others, but each attempt was met with searing pain in her chest, rendering her speechless. No one else could see or hear the diary, yet she cherished it. Through Cain's words, she had found another connection to her family back on Earth.

The next morning, I woke up to Arcanine eagerly licking my face, urging me to get up. I groggily opened the diary system, only to be met with a surprising notification:

[ Ding! Congratulations on fooling Harry Potter. Trust rate: 88%. Lily Potter's Potion talent acquired. ]

[ Ding! Congratulations on fooling Hermione Granger. Trust rate: 80%. Eidetic Memory acquired. ]

[ Ding! Congratulations on fooling Ariana Dumbledore. Trust rate: 80% . Pokémon Ho-Oh acquired. ]

[ Ding! The Host is asked to quickly cross the 90% mark to get a lottery draw point as well as a new diary holder. The skills, ability, talent and characters acquired through the lottery draw will further enhance host's power to do frauds. ]

I stared at the last notifications in disbelief.

After going through a round of questions and answers with the system, I realized that Harry craves family love and warmth. This is why earning his trust points is the easiest—after all, he is still a young child. Ariana, whose whereabouts remain unknown, must have trusted the diary's contents after seeing her brother's name appear in it. As for Hermione, she only accepted the diary's content after I recorded some of her daily habits in it. However, it will be challenging to get their trust levels above 90%. I need to explore different ways to increase their trust.

After receiving the system's gifts, I noticed my potion points climbing up to eight before stopping. According to the system, the points are graded as follows:

1-3: Hogwarts students from first to seventh year.

4-6: Excellent wizards and witches, such as Grandma Tina and Grandpa Newt.

6-8: Wizards on the level of Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

8-10: Wizards and witches as powerful as the Hogwarts founders.

Eidetic memory grants me an extraordinary retention capability. This skill is truly overpowered—once I see something, I will never forget it. I can recall every comic and movie I have ever watched with perfect clarity. Like the protagonists in fanfiction from my previous life, I couldn't help but consider publishing stories and novels.

Setting that thought aside, I was now trying to come up with a story about this new Phoenix. To be honest, it was just yesterday that I encountered Arcanine, and now, all of a sudden, Ho-Oh had appeared. As I sat on my bed, gently stroking Ho-Oh's feathers, Arcanine let out a soft purr, reminding me that someone was approaching.

I quickly instructed Ho-Oh to appear again only when I was in front of my family members. That way, I could avoid the trouble of explaining her sudden presence.

On my way downstairs, I spotted several Bowtruckles clinging to the small flowering plants. I approached them and greeted them warmly. Perhaps due to my natural affinity with magical creatures, they couldn't help but draw closer to me. Smiling, I carefully picked them up and climbed onto Arcanine's back. Together, we descended the stairs.

As we reached the living room, I found Grandpa Newt deeply engrossed in his potion-making.

"Good morning, Grandpa Newt. Is anyone injured?" I asked, seeing him engrossed in potion-making.

"Oh, little jam, did you have a good sleep? Well, you know, sometimes animals get into friendly fights, and they do get injured," Grandpa Newt replied with a gentle smile.

"Can I come with you? I wanted to enter before, but you always stopped me." I couldn't help but complain.

I saw his hands pause for a moment. Then he looked at me and said, "Well, seeing how the Bowtruckles are hanging onto you, I might as well take you in. Come on, Cain, let's go together."

After entering the suitcase, my mouth fell open in amazement. The entire view was mesmerizing. In my previous life, I had seen all the Fantastic Beasts movies, but to be honest, this scene was far more beautiful and awe-inspiring than anything shown in the films.

While I was lost in taking in the entire place, I felt someone nudging me. Looking back, I saw a Demiguise holding my hand.

"Well, Demiguises have an innate talent for taking care of young animals. Now, I suppose it thinks you are one young animal needed to be taken care of," Grandpa Newt said with a chuckle as he watched the Demiguise leading me.

I was speechless but still followed where she took me. Grandpa Newt followed behind us.

Our first stop was a forest where Bowtruckles lived. The ones clinging to me quickly greeted the ones on the trees. Very soon, I was covered in Bowtruckles, making Grandpa Newt laugh.

Next, we visited every animal present inside the suitcase. I was surprised to see so many creatures being protected. To be honest, I had always admired Grandpa Newt's hard work and dedication in ensuring their safety.

Perhaps my thoughts were written all over my face because Grandpa Newt patted my head and said, "You are a natural magizoologist, Cain. I hope you choose to follow the path of protecting them. To be honest, it was only after my fight with Grindelwald that I became famous and that magizoology was taken seriously. I had to work for a very long time to make wizards and witches aware of the need to protect these fantastic beasts. Now, come on, let's go to the place I needed to visit."

We then moved to an area designed to resemble the Grand Canyons of America. I knew this place belonged to the Thunderbirds. As we walked along the path, I could hear thunder rumbling and see lightning flashing across the sky.

"Now is the time for the Thunderbirds' mating season. To be honest, this place is enchanted with runes and alchemy that make lightning and rain possible. Due to the turmoil caused by the Purifiers, many Thunderbird sanctuaries were attacked. To protect them, magizoologists and Aurors worked together to relocate some of them to safer places. The presence of humans during their mating season only irritated them more. So, we took away some of them, and other well-known magizoologists took in the others. We will release them once their eggs hatch. Until then, it is our duty to keep them safe."

While he was still speaking, my eyes were already fixed on the sky. They were majestic creatures, with lightning crackling around their wings. They truly were the emperors of the sky.
