Chapter 45 - Chapter 45

Keqing was fully immersed in battle against several martial corpses. According to Smith's earlier observations, it seemed that the fighting style in this world primarily relied on measuring combat power indices, playing music, or launching energy-based attacks. However, as Keqing engaged these martial corpses, she witnessed a wide variety of intricate martial arts techniques.

One particular martial corpse, with a combat power index exceeding 25,000, caught Keqing's attention. She found his mastery of combat techniques astonishing, making him seem like a walking encyclopedia of martial arts. She had to admit that if her combat power index had been lower than his, she might not have been able to defeat him based on technique alone.

It was at that moment that Keqing realized that this world possessed its own hidden strengths. After the battle, she resolved to seek out its martial arts knowledge. She hoped one trip would be enough.

"Hu Tao, fall back for now," Smith said, stepping in to assist her.

Hu Tao bit her lip but ultimately retreated from the Black Dragon. She had to admit that the opponent was formidable. At her current strength, she would struggle to defeat him. However, she did not feel discouraged. After all, the Black Dragon was regarded as a demon king in this world. It was only natural that she couldn't defeat him easily at such a young age.

"Can you handle this alone? Need my help?" Hu Tao asked.

"Leave it to me," Smith chuckled. "I admit that some beings in this world are quite dangerous, but the Black Dragon isn't one of them."

Smith withdrew the Sword in the Stone, which he had taken from Wang Arthur earlier. A look of mild disdain flickered across his face.

In this world, the Sword in the Stone was considered an exceptional weapon. However, disregarding the issue of the Sword Demon's influence, it was only on par with a four-star weapon on the continent of Teyvat. It was comparable to the Dragon's Song that Keqing previously owned, yet inferior to Hu Tao's current Homa Staff.

Smith sighed internally. He lacked an ideal weapon. Many of Teyvat's five-star weapons were tied to the gods, and the best weapon for him would likely be associated with the Dendro Archon. However, he wasn't desperate enough to rob Nahida of her weapon. She had suffered enough. Taking her weapon would be cruel.

Besides, he preferred long swords or polearms. Perhaps he could obtain one from Morax, though the old dragon seemed unwilling to part with his treasures. Maybe he could procure something from Raiden Ei in the future. After all, when it came to weapon craftsmanship, if Morax was second on Teyvat, Raiden Ei was undoubtedly first.

Despite her political shortcomings, she excelled in her craft. Whether it was martial arts, weapon forging, or even alchemy, she was among the best in Teyvat.

"The Sword in the Stone!"

The Black Dragon's emerald eyes flickered wildly upon seeing the weapon in Smith's hand. His hoarse voice carried both desire and greed. "Boy, hand over the Sword in the Stone, and I'll overlook this incident."

"That depends on whether you can take it from me," Smith responded, a smirk forming on his lips.

Since arriving in this world, he had yet to reveal his full combat strength. Now seemed like the perfect opportunity.

A tremendous energy erupted from Smith's body, shaking the battlefield. In an instant, his combat power index surged past 30,000. It continued to rise—40,000, then 50,000.

"50,000 combat power? Impossible!" the Black Dragon gasped.

At a certain threshold, advancing further became exponentially more difficult. The Black Dragon himself had hit a ceiling, which led him to abandon his humanity in search of more power. But now, this man—Smith—had surpassed him effortlessly.

Even Xiu and the others, watching from a distance, were dumbfounded. They had suspected Smith was a powerhouse, perhaps akin to the Godwalkers, but seeing him unleash his power confirmed it.

The Black Dragon's fate was sealed.

However, was it truly okay for such an overwhelming force to intervene? Would the fabric of space and time remain intact?

Xiu observed the surroundings. So far, nothing seemed out of place.

Smith, of course, was not concerned. With his level of skill and control, disrupting the flow of time and space was simply not an issue.

"Now, you aren't even qualified to make me use my full strength," Smith declared.

This was no idle boast. If he wanted to, he could push his combat power index beyond 60,000, perhaps even 70,000 or 80,000. But there was no need for such excess.

Before the Black Dragon could react, Smith dashed forward and slashed at him. The Black Dragon barely had time to raise his guard. However, the moment their weapons clashed, he felt an immense pressure bearing down on him. His internal energy wavered under the suppression.

His combat power index, which had surged beyond 40,000, was now being forcibly pushed back down.

It was clear—Smith's power was on a different level.

"Damn it! I am the Black Dragon!" he roared in defiance, preparing to go all out. But before he could retaliate, Smith shifted his stance.

The Sword in the Stone gleamed as he thrust it toward the Black Dragon's throat. The Black Dragon instinctively moved to block. However, before he could react further, he felt a sharp, searing pain.

A pain unlike any he had ever known.

For a moment, everything seemed to freeze.

The Black Dragon's eyes widened as realization dawned upon him.

Black Dragon, KO.

Hu Tao stared at the scene, swallowing hard.

"Smith… wasn't that a little too much?" she asked hesitantly.

Though she wasn't completely sure, she had seen enough to suspect what had happened.

Black Dragon had certainly been an evil force, but… this? Was this truly necessary?

Even for a villain, this seemed like an exceptionally cruel fate.
