Chapter 2 - The Storm

The Midnight Reaper cut through the unforgiving waters of the New World with steady force, its sails billowing against the strong winds. The crew had settled into their routine, their celebrations from the previous night replaced by the sounds of preparation for their next journey. The ship, despite its rough exterior, was a well-oiled machine under the guidance of Hiro's unyielding leadership.

Inside the captain's quarters, Hiro sat at his desk, fingers tapping rhythmically on the polished wood. His thoughts wandered back to his little brother, Luffy, and the growing sense of urgency within him. Every moment spent searching for him, every move made to dominate this sea, felt like a step closer. Hiro could feel it—something was changing. The world, it seemed, was shifting.

The door to his quarters creaked open once more, and this time, it wasn't Hikari. It was Demetrius, the swordsman of the crew, a tall man with a quiet demeanor but a sword arm that could sever mountains.

"Captain," Demetrius began, his voice calm but firm, "we've received word from the scouts. A large fleet is approaching. They're not friendly, and they seem to be looking for trouble."

Hiro glanced up from the map in front of him, his expression impassive. "Who are they?" he asked simply, his tone not giving away any concern.

Demetrius stood tall, unflinching. "Pirates, Captain. They're led by a man called Vexor the Stormbringer. A former marine who turned pirate. His crew is notorious for raiding ships in these waters. Word has it, he's got a fleet of at least ten ships, and they've been making a name for themselves in the New World."

Hiro leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing. "Vexor the Stormbringer..." he repeated, tasting the name. "Sounds like a fool looking to die."

"A dangerous fool," Demetrius corrected, his gaze unwavering. "He's been making waves, challenging powerful crews. Some say he has ties to the world government, though no one's been able to confirm it."

Hiro's fingers drummed against the wood, his thoughts racing. A fleet this large could be a serious threat, but Hiro wasn't the type to back down from a fight. His eyes flicked to the corner of the room, where a large clock ticked away with relentless accuracy. Time was always on his mind. The hours, the days, the moments—it all felt like a countdown. He couldn't afford to waste time on insignificant threats.

"Prepare the crew," Hiro finally said, his voice cold but resolute. "If they want to play, let's show them what it means to challenge the Night Guild."

Demetrius nodded and turned to leave, but Hiro's voice stopped him.

"And Demetrius," he called, his gaze hardening. "Tell Hikari to gather the medic supplies. We're going to need them."

On deck, the crew sprang into action, responding to the captain's orders with practiced efficiency. The Night Guild Pirates were a well-coordinated team, each member with their own unique abilities that complemented the others. From Soruto's sharp eyes to Celeste's mastery of the weather, they were ready for anything.

Hikari stood by the ship's edge, watching the horizon. Her silver eyes scanned the sea, the calm before the storm settling over her. The weather was shifting, a storm rolling in as though summoned by her thoughts. She knew that a battle was coming, and while Hiro's orders were always to kill first and ask questions later, she couldn't shake the feeling that this one was different.

"This Vexor..." Hikari murmured to herself, her voice barely audible over the wind. "He's not just any pirate."

Behind her, Celeste Hikaru stood tall, her arms folded, and a serious expression on her face. "You think he's a threat?"

Hikari glanced over her shoulder, her expression unreadable. "He's more than a threat. He's a sign that the world is shifting. We need to stay ahead of the curve. Hiro's goal isn't just about power anymore. It's about something bigger."

Celeste was silent for a moment before she nodded. "I know. But the crew needs to know we can handle whatever's coming. They don't have the same picture we do."

"We'll show them," Hikari said with a smirk, her confidence unwavering. "We always do."

Above the Midnight Reaper, the sky began to darken. The winds howled as the clouds thickened, swirling in ominous patterns. It wasn't long before the first signs of the approaching fleet appeared—several ships in the distance, their black sails cutting through the waves like predators closing in on their prey.

Vexor the Stormbringer's fleet was here.

Hiro stood at the bow of the ship, his arms crossed, watching the storm approach. The wind tugged at his coat, but he remained motionless, his gaze fixed on the enemy ships. He could feel the familiar thrill of battle building inside him. It had been too long since he'd fought a worthy opponent.

"Get ready," Hiro said, his voice low and commanding. "It's showtime."

As the enemy fleet drew closer, Vexor's ship—the Thunder Reaver—came into view, its massive silhouette cutting through the waves. The pirate captain stood at the helm, a tall, imposing figure with wild, windswept hair and eyes as cold as the storm that surrounded him. His fleet was just behind him, ready for the fight.

"Night Guild Pirates," Vexor's voice rang out across the waves, amplified by a device that carried his words over the distance. "You've made a mistake challenging me. Prepare to be crushed under the weight of the storm!"

Hiro's eyes flashed with intensity. "A fool's last words."

With a signal, the Night Guild Pirates sprang into action. Soruto Feng, the sniper, took his position at the crow's nest, his rifle steady in his hands. Demetrius unsheathed his swords, his movements fluid and calculated. Celeste and Hikari readied themselves, the storm swirling in the air around them as their powers activated.

Hiro's hands clenched into fists, his heart racing with anticipation. This is it, he thought. This is why I live.

As the enemy ships neared, Hiro raised his hand. "Nightmare Storm," he commanded.

The moment his words left his lips, a thick fog descended upon the battlefield, dark and oppressive. The Midnight Reaper became an island in the center of a swirling tempest, the wind howling with fury. Lightning cracked across the sky, illuminating the ships in flashes, but the Night Guild Pirates were unfazed.

Vexor's fleet was caught in the storm's eye, disoriented and blinded. It was the perfect opening.

"Now," Hiro muttered, his voice barely audible over the storm. "Let's show them the true power of the Night Guild."
