Chapter 2 - chapter 2

Kamigan's body was weightless, plummeting through the sky as the world spun around him. The air roared in his ears, the ground rushing up to meet him with terrifying speed. His heart pounded, cold fear wrapping its claws around his chest.

"No... no, no, no! I can't die like this!" His scream was lost to the wind, swallowed by the howling descent. Panic surged through him as his limbs flailed, reaching for something—anything—to stop his fall.

Faces flashed before his eyes—comrades who had fought beside him, friends who had laughed with him, people who had believed in him. They had all fallen with honor, defending their home. And now, he was going to die... alone and helpless.

"My brethren died protecting the nation... fighting with honor," he choked, tears stinging his eyes. "And me... am I just going to die like this?" His voice cracked, despair tainting his words. "I can't accept this!"

But no matter how fiercely he fought, no matter how desperately he screamed, gravity paid no heed to his protests. The jagged rocks below drew closer, merciless and unyielding.

In that heart-stopping moment, Kamigan felt his spirit shatter. His body went limp, the fight draining out of him. His eyes closed as he resigned himself to the inevitable. and with a loud thud his body collided with the ground leaving him as nothing but a lifeless shell...or at least that's how it should've been

The impact never came.

Kamigan's eyes snapped open, his head throbbing with pain. "Ugh... my head hurts... Where am I?" He forced himself upright, his muscles aching, his mind foggy.

Around him, golden grass swayed gently in the breeze, bathed in the warm hues of a setting sun. Confusion gripped him as he took in the serene landscape. "This... this isn't the kingdom. Where is this?"

His fingers brushed the blades of grass, their softness grounding him in reality. "It's too real to be a dream... but how did I survive that fall?"

His thoughts were interrupted by the distant hum of voices. Following the sound, Kamigan found himself in a bustling market, vibrant and noisy. People moved in every direction, dressed in unfamiliar clothing. The architecture, too, was foreign—elegant curves and towering structures unlike anything from his homeland.

He watched the crowd, his ears catching fragments of conversation:

"Yolo as kamito friesy gen," someone said, laughing.

"Gara tu I tụọ ọhụrụ ndị na et," another responded, their voice cheerful.

The words were strange, the language foreign. Yet... Kamigan understood them perfectly. His eyes widened in shock. How could he understand a language he'd never heard before?

"Hey there, young lad!" A portly man with a long mustache approached him, grinning broadly. "by your attire you look like a Traveller might interest you in some supplies

Kamigan hesitated. "I... I don't have any money."

The man's smile faded, replaced by a look of disappointment. "Ah, so you're broke, huh? Well I'm the one who dragged you here , take some of that junk over there. It's about to be thrown out anyway."

Kamigan followed the man's gesture, his nose wrinkling at the pile of rotting food swarming with flies. "Thanks, but... I think I'll pass."

He walked away, his heart heavy. Nothing made sense. Where was he? How did he survive? And why could he understand a language that was so alien to him?
