Chapter 55 - Mysterious Place [3]

As Zane said those words, he went through the thick leaves blocking his way. Although Velrath sounded suspicious, he didn't really feel any malicious thoughts towards him.

Perhaps, he had become too trusting of a demon?

Honestly, he didn't even want to think about it. All that mattered right now was that he could have a spacious, private place to train.

Zane went through the leaves blocking his way, and as he stepped beyond them, he couldn't help but widen his eyes in awe.

"Woah..."

Beyond those leaves lay a place that felt almost magical, at least to Zane.

The area seemed too perfect to be natural. The grass was neatly trimmed, and not a single root disrupted the ground, as if someone had carefully shaped it. It was wide and open, filled with an overwhelming presence of mana. A clear, shimmering lake rested beside it, completing the serene view.

It looked like the same place where he had first met Sylvaris, the Protector of Nature.

'I wonder if the water of the lake here can heal me as well.'

Zane stared at the scenery in front of him blankly, while Velrath also followed him from behind.

"How is it? Amazing, right?"

Hearing Velrath's words, Zane couldn't help but be curious. How was he even able to find such a place in the first place?

"Yeah, it's definitely amazing. It's unlike anything I've seen before."

He paused, then added:

"But, how were you even able to find this place?"

Velrath paused for a moment, staring at the scenery before him.

Zane wasn't sure if what he saw was real or not, but Velrath's expression turned serious for a second.

"Why does that matter? All that matters right now is you finally got what you wanted. So, stop wasting your time and start your training already."

Zane stared at him for a moment, then he answered:

"Yeah, that's true. I guess I'll start my training now."

That answer was all Zane needed to hear.

Velrath was definitely up to something. But Zane was too inexperienced and weak to know what he was planning, or what he was trying to achieve.

Zane knew that, and so for now, he would let himself be controlled. He would play the fool that is easily manipulated, while he observed Velrath more.

And besides, he wasn't really that sure if Velrath was really planning something malicious or not. That's why it's best if he should observe for now, while at the same time being prepared and cautious.

Since having the former demon king by his side benefited him in many ways, he might as well just savor those benefits.

Zane then started walking, while scanning his surroundings.

For now, he wanted to take his time exploring this so-called undiscovered place.

'How has no one found this place yet? It's overflowing with mana too. Places like this are usually easily found.'

'It's also the perfect place for mages to train.'

Usually, there are certain spots that can be found somewhere that are overflowing with mana.

More mana can help you store mana much faster, which can help you train more effectively as a mage.

So, once the king finds out about this place, it's definitely going to be turned into a business.

A shame, really.

Zane took his time exploring the magical place, going here and there, looking through what kind of flowers lay over there and such.

And last but not least, the lake. Zane wanted to know if the lake had some magical healing powers just like in Sylvaris's domain.

Zane wasn't really sure, but perhaps the reason why the lake in Sylvaris's domain could heal him was because her domain was also overflowing with mana.

Zane then headed straight to the lake. He stared at it for a moment.

Small particles were flowing above the lake, making it look even more ethereal.

Zane then crouched slowly, put both of his hands in the lake, and then put the water all over his body.

Moments afterwards, he really did feel like his body was slowly healing. The fatigue he had accumulated earlier was slowly going away.

However, the healing process wasn't really as fast as the lake in Sylvaris's domain. But even so, this could still benefit him in many ways, especially while he did some physical training.

"Amazing!"

Not only was this place overflowing with mana, but it also had a lake that could heal his body.

Especially since he trained both his physical body and his magical capabilities, this was simply a paradise for Zane.

It didn't really take that long for Zane to explore the entire place, since it wasn't really that spacious in a way. It was simply spacious enough for Zane to do his training, which wasn't really a problem.

In fact, it was a great thing.

With this place, his growth would be ten times faster than before.

Zane didn't want to waste any more time and just wanted to start his training already.

'Hmm, what should I do first, huh?'

Zane was deciding whether he should do some physical training first, then his magic spell lessons after.

Zane decided to just start with his physical training first, since learning magic requires intense concentration and mental clarity. Doing his physical training first would help him burn off excess energy and settle his mind.

And there was the lake to remove all the fatigue in his body anyway, so it didn't really matter.

Zane then started stretching. After that, he started his exercises. Then he practiced his swordsmanship.

Although he still hadn't fully learned the sword art, he was improving pretty well. Which was more than enough for Zane.

His physical capabilities had also gotten a lot better. He could even see his abs showing slightly. Which was a really big achievement for Zane.

'Are girls going to go after me now?'

'Wait, what the hell am I thinking? Did I get influenced by Vale?'

Casting those thoughts aside, he continued his swordsmanship training.
