"Why did you ask the director to call her manager instead of her agent?" Agent Kim asked Daniel.
"The agent seemed to not be on her side. But I doubt it's the same case for the manager." Daniel explained. "If it's through the agent, there's no doubt she would not appear in the event. But with the manager, there could be some hope."
Agent Kim listened to her artist and thought for a while before she asked.
"Why are you doing this though? Why do you want her to come to the event?" Then suddenly, a thought came to her mind "You" She pointed her finger at the guy who was giving her a questioning look.
"You couldn't have caught some feeling for her, could you?"
If what she thought was true, this would be her worst nightmare. She was not against her artist dating someone. But she didn't support it for now since he was at the rise of his career. And she would even object if the partner of his interest happened to be Viviana. Involvement with that person could easily turn his career into a havoc.
But then she heard Daniel laugh out loud. Clearly, he found her concern funny.
"I just wanted to see some more dramas. The trip this time was fun. I never knew Viviana would be so fun to observe. If she could let her guard down a bit, it would have been more fun."
Agent Kim sighed in relief. She thanked God that it happened to be just an episode of her artist's uncontrollable desire to enjoy gossip. And thus, with a light heart she went away.
Not knowing what happened after she walked out the door.
Not long after Agent Kim went away, Daniel's phone rang.
"Hello." The actor greeted the person.
"Miller."
A male voice greeted him back.
"How did it go?"
Daniel sighed.
"Why don't you just call her if you are concerned about her?" He asked.
"…"
The person did not respond.
"I can't."
He answered.
Daniel did not know what had happened between the two. But it seemed that his friend was not ready to call her at that moment.
"Listen. You asked me to take care of her. I did the best I could without arousing my connection to you. If I showed a bit more interest, I'm afraid my agent would die from a heart attack." Daniel added.
"Yeah… I know… I'm thankful to you for that."
The person responded, acknowledging Daniel's hard work.
"Her company's a mess. I'm afraid she will face some trouble soon."
"Hmm…" Daniel also thought of the same. "Why don't you call her and talk to her about getting out of the company?"
"I talked to her before leaving. But the conservation did not turn out in the right way.
"…" Daniel waited for his friend to continue.
"The argument got heated up and I ended up saying somethings I shouldn't. And then…"
"And then you guys fell out."
Daniel concluded for his friend. He could hear the person sighing before responding with a "Yeah."
"When are you coming back?" He asked.
"Soon…" The person answered. "Maybe by the end of next month."
"Okay… Great. That should be before her contract ends. You can come back and patch up with her."
"I wish bro."
"Worry not. I'm sure you will."
"I'll be praying for that."

Meanwhile Manager An was trying her best to convince Viviana to attend the premiere show. But the girl wouldn't listen.
"Why are you so much against attending the event?" She snapped. "You know you don't get such opportunities often. Why are you letting this go like that? How will you get a foothold in this industry if you keep on being like this?"
"Have you asked Yan?"
But instead of giving the answer to her question, the actress responded to her with a question of her own.
"No…"
"Then ask him…"
"…"
Manager An now knew her concern.
"He will allow it." She argued.
But Viviana was sure.
"No… He will never."
"It's different this time. According to the contract you signed with the production team, you are required to attend the promotion events when invited. He can't let you just breach the contract like that."
At her words Viviana could only sneer.
"Do you think this would be the first time?"
An Mey was confused at her words.
"What do you mean?"
But the actress did not provide further explanation and let the manager understand what she said on her own.
An Mey had only been her manager for a few months. She was not aware of all the hidden games that Agent Yan had played with Viviana. But she could only imagine what the actress must have gone through under the pressure.
"Besides…" Viviana continued. "I don't want to gain any more foothold in this industry."
"You…" Manager An finally got what was in Viviana's mind. "You want to quit?"
"Isn't it better than just playing cats and dogs with Lyra?" The mockery in Vivi's voice was obvious. "I'm tired of being the vicious step sister to the dear Cinderella of Han Entertainment. They could find her another one."
Then Viviana whispered to herself.
"I'm not up for this game anymore…"

Manager had many things she wanted to say. Any points she wanted to bring up to let the woman fight against the suppression of the company. But when she saw the mockery in Viviana's eyes that looked dead tired from all the scheming, she couldn't open her mouth.
So… she just stormed out apartment in which Viviana was staying at the moment.
'I was dreaming too big.' An Mey chided herself.
And there was also Vivi. The person was as passive as ever. There was not a bit of fire in her to fight. When she saw her spirited image in the video, she started dreaming of becoming a great agent once again.
How did she even think that Viviana would go up against the company?
An Mey was so blinded by the desire to break free and take revenge on the person that when she saw her chance in Viviana, she forgot about what the consequences would be if she failed to execute it.
Her memories went back to seven years ago. Just twenty-five at that time. It had always been her dream to be a capable agent… To stand by the side of that person… He had been in her life since her teens. And she had always supported his dream.
She became his manager for more than five years. And later both of them joined the Glamour Entertainment Company. She thought that everything would be fine. He was gaining more fame and the two even got their marriage certificate.
But what she had once thought was love between them quickly proven to be wrong when she was thrown away after a speculation of their relationship was revealed on the internet. She was foolish to take all the blame. Too young and naïve to not recognise that it was all planned by that person.
The person was quick to leave her when even insisted on getting divorced. She begged… On her knees she was when she begged him to not leave her. But all he told her was that there was a brighter future waiting for him… A future which he cannot get with her by his side.
She was broken. Her love of more than a decade had just left her like that after all she had done and went through together with him.
Later… she came to know that all this was planned by the company… All to take her out of his life. And that he was the main person who was active in this plan.
And in her despair and anger, she almost leaked the dirt behind the company. But her plan was found out too quickly and from then on, she was suppressed. She was immediately fired.
For more than six years she had to hide away and had only come back and joined the Han Entertainment. The only company who was willing to accept her with her blackened record. Then she was given Viviana to manage… Well… To keep an eye on…
And the most hateful thing was that she was accepted because of that person. He was very successful now… Shone brighter than many star. And as though he was giving a charity to a backward person, he told her that he had forgiven her for what she had done…
She had never wanted his forgiveness. It was him that she could never forgive. Neither did she want this job which she had gotten into through his connection. But her circumstances were that she needed to earn money.

But there was without a doubt that she held hatred and vengeance for the company and the person. The dream of getting back at them was still in her mind. And she knew that it was not impossible.
Of course she could not do that openly. If she was caught again, the consequences would be something she cannot handle. All the evidence she had collected before had been destroyed.
'Maybe… Being assigned to Viviana was a blessing in disguise.' The actress could be the key to her revenge.
