Chapter 4 - His home

This wasn't the kind of marriage Adalyn had always imagined in her head. The princess kind of marriage where the groom and the bride would receive blessings from their parents and elders, where the bride would be in the husband's arms just as Logan carried her earlier and entered a beautiful car that would take them to the location where their honeymoon would take place was what Adalyn hoped for.

Adalyn had no friends so she never imagined an after-party for her wedding. All she wanted was her husband and the man who still appeared in her head as her husband was John.

She was busy in her room, packing all necessary things she needed. Her parents were at the wedding venue so she didn't have to face them.

However, Adalyn couldn't stop thinking about what Logan meant by them being the same. In what way were they the same? She wasn't a master of black magic. She knew people stare at her judgmentally but she never knew what they saw to loathe her so much.

She believed that the image she had was because of her parents and not anything she did. "We are not the same," she declared to herself as she rejected it.

Adalyn's plan on killing herself failed all because he could tell so much about her. She angrily packed her things into a travel bag as it struck her that Logan was able to know that she hadn't eaten because he was involved in black magic. Perhaps, he could read people's minds.

'A husband that can read my mind?!' She became frustrated and kicked the bed stand. 'I hate him! I hate him so much!' she couldn't stop grunting in her room.

She spent almost an hour getting the things she needed out of her room in a large bag. Surprisingly as she struggled to pull it out of her room to the backyard where Logan parked his car, she met Logan in front of her room waiting for her.

"How intriguing," he said and grabbed her bag, ignoring the fact that he had just made her soul leave her body. "Come along," he uttered when he had taken multiple steps away from her but because he could read her mind as Adalyn assumed, he could tell that she was still standing in front of her room.

Adalyn realized that Logan didn't really care about her like a man who loved her truly would. The marriage was to get rid of her but she never expected the person to be Logan Hudson. She hated everything about him that she couldn't even acknowledge how handsome and huge he was.

She followed him to his car and entered without him opening the door for her. John would have done that but as much as Adalyn compared Logan to John, she preferred to be with Logan who could read her mind and even kill her than stay with a man who betrayed and ruined her.

John was never different, he was just like the evil man she married. The only difference was that Logan was a wolf who didn't hide his identity while John appeared to be a sheep but was actually a big bad wolf on the inside.

Logan started the car and drove out of the building. It was silent between both of them for a very long time. Adalyn fell asleep while she was thinking about her miserable life.

She couldn't stop asking herself what her life would be like if her parents never hated her so much. Perhaps, she'd have married the man she loved just like her sister, Diane did and she fell asleep with tears in her eyes because he remembered how she was maltreated by her own parents.

Three hours later, Adalyn woke up to realize that she was still in the car but in a gas station again. She registered this information when she looked around her but it took her time to actually digest it.

But when Logan entered the car, he handed her a bottle full of pure water. "Why are we here?" She asked, looking tiredly at him.

"We are almost home," he answered and began to drink the water in the bottle. Adalyn wasn't impressed by how his Adam apple moved as he gulped down the water. Nothing about Logan Hudson was attractive to her.

She looked away from his neck and drank a sip of her water before looking outside the window. "This is our honeymoon," she murmured.

Logan started the car again and drove into the road. "Why did you agree to marry me?" Adalyn asked and stayed quiet immediately. She couldn't believe she was brave enough to ask Logan such a question. Her heart, however, was pounding so hard as she waited for his response.

He didn't answer her until she forgot that she asked him a question. "I want a child with my kind," he simply said.

"What?" Adalyn didn't understand.

"Give me a child," he said again.

"That's why you married me?" Adalyn was surprised. "No, you don't find me attractive, do you?" She hoped he did but Logan never answered that question.

Three hours later, when it was 8 pm, Logan drove into an old mansion that appeared to be hundreds of years old.

'This is where he lives,' she thought to herself as she felt the chills coming from around her. The place was dark and rusty as if it had been forgotten.

"I don't like it here," Adalyn whined as she looked around. "It's creepy," she shivered, clipping her hands between her thighs. "Hmph…" she whined even more.

Logan studied her as she acted like a child in front of him. "Why are you scared?" He touched her hands that were between her legs and pulled them out. "This is where you belong. You'd get used to it."

Adalyn began to cry. "I don't belong here. It's too dark and I don't like you and it's scary and it's you. You are evil and dark and you read people's minds and you are going to kill me. Kill me now so that I won't go through all this stress."

Logan had a lot to say but he didn't, he climbed out of the car but Adalyn surprised him by coming out of the car and standing as close as she could to him, quivering. She actually came out of the car through the driver's side of the car.

"Are you that scared, Adalyn?" Logan looked down at her. No one had ever thought of finding safety around him but Adalyn just made him feel different by clinging around him.

"Don't let the ghost eat me," she cried.

"Adalyn…it's just my home," he said.

"You are the Master of…evil," she trembled as she spoke.

"Whatever, Adalyn. When we get inside, we must create a baby and get into business."
