Chapter 35: Certain someone

The primordial watched in silence as Arora struggled to grasp her new reality.

She was dead.

She didn't remember how it happened. She also couldn't remember why or who did it.

No matter how hard she tried to recall, her mind remained blank. Like a static was in the way. Tears spilled freely from her eyes, against her will. It was as if the memories were so terrible that her body responded automatically despite not remembering them.

Several moments passed in tense silence.

She looked back at the boy that referred to himself as a Primordial entity.

"So... I'm really dead." she asked, her voice trembling.

The Primordial remained silent for a few moments.

{π‘Όπ’π’‡π’π’“π’•π’–π’π’‚π’•π’†π’π’š. π’šπ’†π’” π’šπ’π’– 𝒂𝒓𝒆}

Arora stared into the distance with a vacant expression, as she took off her glasses, her hands trembling.

More tears streamed down her face. This time, of her own doing.

"Tβ€”that's not fair."

.....

.....

"That's not fair!" she screamed, her fists clenched. "That's not fair! That's not fair!"

"Wβ€”hy me, why is it always me?" She asked as she felt her throat closing up..

"I never get anything. I didn't get my parents love!. I didn't get any friends because I wouldn't do whatever they wanted!. I didn't get adopted because no one wants me. I didn't get any gifts because no one cared"

"And.... now"

"I don't even get to keep my life. It's not fair, it's just not fair. I want to live, I want to experience everything I never could before. Everything I always dreamt of. I want to visit my best friend at the North pole, I want to eventually fall in love and have a family.... I want to have parents that love me."

She looked at the Primordial, her face streaked with tears.

"Iβ€”i just want to live"

"Is that so hard to ask for...."

The primordial slowly stood up as he walked over to where she was kneeling.

Arora remained silent for a while as she processed his words. She didn't know what to think about how special he seemed to think she was. Most of what he said didn't really seem like something that mattered to her.

Her mind was still flashing back to her life. She wondered how she could die so easily if she had a "vast" lifeforce, like the primordial was saying. She still wanted to know what happened to her, she wanted to know how she died. She didn't think she could live peacefully in a this new life without knowing that.

"Thank you... For the chance you're giving me. Truly thank you." She stammered, her voice cracking from her crying.

"I was just wondering if you could alsβ€”"

Arora sighed dejectedly.

"Alright then, I suppose you're right, umm Mr Primordial." She said awkwardly.

She was starting to come to terms with her situation. The only things she desperately missed were her best friend Santa Claus and Mr Raymond. She also felt sad that she would never see the orphanage, or the other kids again, although to a lesser degree.

"Is there anything you want me to do for you? From my experience, most people don't just give others something so easily, unless you're under their care."

The primordial remained quiet for a moment, as if pondering something.
