Jay-jay's POV
I just saw a Worm Dance today. Where the hands and arms are like spaghetti in the air, twitching.
"Here..." Ci-N said and suddenly started spinning.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Worms with salt!" He replied and continued.
I just slapped my own forehead. What does he eat at home to be like that? I saw Rakki arrive. He looked at Ci-N in surprise! Welcome to the club!
"What's going on with Ci-N?" Rakki whispered to me.
"He's pretending to be worms." I replied.
Still not stopping Ci-N. We let her go for now. She was enjoying herself, because she was twitching.
"Why are you here?" I asked Rakki.
"I was going to greet him..." I pointed at Ci. "...so busy."
He was doing a chicken dance now. What was that?
"Ci-N! You have a guest!" I shouted and the head stopped.
His smile widened and he immediately approached Rakki. I let them talk for now. I approached Calix who was practicing the steps of the dance they were going to do. But I immediately felt embarrassed when I saw Mica approaching her. So I just sat in the corner. I wasn't the one dancing, but I was the one who was nervous.
We were backstage with the other members of the Dance troops.
Ci-N had been entertaining me earlier because I felt like he knew I was nervous. The others were already in the front and looking for a place. I looked at Yuri who had his arms crossed and was staring at me. He suddenly looked away. These past few days he had been sullen. Even earlier when Felix hugged me.
It was like something had gotten to him. Yuri used to be mean to me but that was when he was still a bad boy. He was also changing after he came to us. Speaking of Felix, here he is and running towards me. The Felix I knew is really back.
"Are you doing something on Saturday?" he asked me.
"Nothing... maybe..." I said while thinking.
I wasn't sure. Maybe there was something I wasn't aware of.
"Maybe you could come with us… We're celebrating our basketball victory, and we wanted you there," he explained.
"We?"
"My teammates. They said you were the reason I got back on the team."
That made me smile. I suddenly felt shy.
"Okay, I'll come… I'll tell Ci-N and the others—"
"No, Jay. They can't come. Aries and the others will be there, and it could lead to trouble."
But why? I wanted to hang out with Ci-N and the rest.
"Why are you going?"
"Because I'm part of the team."
I scratched my head. What a mess.
"Fine…" I finally agreed.
Felix hugged me again, and I saw Yuri getting visibly alarmed.
"Thank you so much, Jay! You've done so much for us," Felix said before letting me go.
He walked away. He's probably going back to our companions. He might as well go on patrol. It's already 7pm.
We heard someone speak on the mic so Ci-N immediately scurried over to get together. We walked back to the cobras where many of them were fighting over reserved seats.
"You're here!" Edrix told me.
I sat next to him and in front of us were the freshmen students. They still looked like Totoy and Nene, that's why we were called freshmen. We didn't even know what year these were.
"...Our judges for tonight. The viewers and the Section that gave life to this program." The host said which I didn't understand. "Let's start the competition! Let's draw a lot to see who will be first and who will be next!"
A woman came up to the host. She was holding a fish bowl with colorful papers inside. I laughed at the woman, because she felt like the host was Willy and she was one of the girls grinding on Wowowin.
Even more!
"The first group is from Section D. 'The Adventurous'!" The host said and the people from Section D came out.
I saw the one I fought with before. He's still alive?! That's good.
The music started and the group danced. There were still some people dancing on the air. Gunshots and what not.
Sigh! My head hurts!
They finished dancing. The host came out again and asked the judges for their opinions.
Try saying it beautifully! Sigh! I'm going to lose it here!
It's good that no one told them. Their music really gives me a headache. I'll be sorry The lights were off.
The host drew again and here was the girl feeling like a sex bomb dancer.
Just grind! Grind!
"The next group from Section A. 'Hotmen'!" The host said and the Section A members came out.
Kiko was in but Mykel didn't seem to be there, probably because he was injured earlier. I hope it's not that bad. He said that Mykel was crying in pain earlier.
The music started and the A members showed off their skills. The music remix and the lighting were good. That's it, someone clearly didn't attend practice. Their performance ended and the host came over. He spoke to the judges again. But what I was waiting for was the draw. I really bet on Ate'ngkembot ng kembot.
The conversation ended and... There it is! The draw will be made again. The woman came out and there she was, tumbling, splitting and standing up at the same time with one leg in the air.
I saw something. But I guess I shouldn't have seen that.
"For the third group, from Section C. 'The Amazing C'!"
Like the previous ones, Section C came out and the host spoke to us for a while. It seemed like our Section was long.
I checked the time on the big digital clock next to the stage. It was 9:38pm, we were about to go to bed. Another new music started. But this section was different. Ballroom!
Yes! Yes! This Section C is great. No need for a fancy Remix and showmanship.
The dance ended and the host came over again. It took a while to draw! I was even more entertained by the woman holding the fishbowl.
After a while, the one I was waiting for came out. She was already dancing, and then she raised her leg again.
No one was seen today. Luckily.
"The fourth group proudly representing Section E—'Jay's Warriors'!"
Oh, for crying out loud! I glared at the people next to me, and they quickly looked away.
These idiots! Using my name like that! Unbelievable!
"Who came up with that?!" I angrily asked Edrix.
"U-uh… It was Ci-N and Keifer," he answered, still avoiding my eyes.
I looked around for the King of Snakes. It wasn't hard to find him—he was close by, smirking and clearly taunting me.
I rolled my eyes at him and turned my attention back to the stage. The music started—just a simple song. No remix, no fancy lighting.
David and Calix were at the back since they're the biggest. Eren and Kit stood on either side of Ci-N. Even their dance steps were simple, but the crowd was still screaming.
"Go, Jay's Warriors!" the snakes behind me yelled. Oh, you're all so good at that!
As much as I wanted to cheer, I just couldn't. The group name they picked was too embarrassing. This must be Keifer's doing. That jerk! Always up to something.
Ci-N's performance ended, and the host came back onstage to ask the judges for their opinions.
When it was over, we all ran backstage, but only the performers were allowed inside, so Ci-N and the others just came to us.
"Wasn't I awesome?!" Ci-N bragged.
"You should've done the Worm Dance!" I teased him.
"I didn't want to—they'd just copy me."
We all laughed and listened for a bit to Mica and Calix's conversation. They were so sweet; it was cute to watch.
"You were amazing, my baby!" Mica gushed, holding Calix's hand.
"I saw you watching!" Calix replied.
I looked down at my feet—just in case any ants were around to bite me. Their sweetness was unbearable.
The final group's performance ended, and the host started announcing.
"The winning group will receive brand new supplies for their room! But we won't announce the winner today!" the host said.
Why not today?
"Why not today?" I asked.
"We'll find out all the winners on Friday!" the host explained.
We all exchanged glances—of course, they were combining the announcement with the Mr. Handsome and Ms. Beautiful contest day.
"Do you guys want to go back to the room?!" Keifer shouted.
"Huh? Why, what time is it?" Edrix asked and looked at the time.
I also looked. It was 10:56pm, we were about to go to bed. We immediately ran back to the room and didn't wait for the host to say anything.
We took the flash lights. We met up with our replacements. Luckily we made it. We had fun dancing with Ci-N. Time flew by.
"Second day down... Three days to go."
