Year 54 of the Hidden Leaf. April 1st.
A new school year begins at the Ninja Academy.
The Ninja Academy operates on a three-term school year. The first term runs from April 1st to mid-July, the second from early September to late December, and the third from early January to late March.
The sixth-year students have already graduated—some becoming full-fledged genin, some repeating a year, others getting recruited into various departments, and a few quitting the ninja path altogether.
For the rest of the students, today marks their promotion to the next grade.
As for the empty first-year classrooms, they are about to be filled with fresh new students who have passed the entrance exams.
Kenjiro was one of those students.
Unlike most of his peers, who were escorted by parents or older siblings, he walked into the academy alone.
But what made him stand out even more was his expression—while other orphaned children cast envious glances at those with family by their side, he simply observed them.
His gaze wasn't filled with longing or jealousy. Instead, it was analytical.
Because what he was truly looking at wasn't the students themselves, but something only he could see.
[Ninja Aptitude (White)]
[Chakra Control (Green)
[Chunin Aptitude (Green)]
Whenever Kenjiro focused on someone, small floating orbs appeared around them, displaying different colors and text inside.
Some people had multiple orbs, while others had none—either because they lacked talent or because their abilities fell outside the system's recognition, like skills related to civilian professions.
This was his golden finger—his cheat ability in this world.
Kenjiro had no surname, only a given name.
He spent his early years in the orphanage, learning to read, speak, and pick up basic survival skills. By the time he turned three, the orphanage head brought him home and took him to visit his parents' graves.
That was when he learned his family's history.
His parents were both orphans without surnames. His father had been a chunin of the village, but he perished along with his entire squad, including their jonin leader, during a mission.
His mother died giving birth to him. With her last breath, instead of entrusting him to her husband's friends or comrades, she asked the doctor to send him to the orphanage.
It made sense. The orphanage was backed by the village. They wouldn't exploit or steal from him.
And sure enough, they never did.
At three years old, Kenjiro was already expected to live independently.
But he wasn't surprised.
After all, he knew exactly what kind of world he had been reborn into.
This was a place where even the Child of Destiny, Naruto—the protagonist of this story—had to fend for himself at the age of three. Heck, that kid was even strolling through snowy streets alone at that age.
The world of Naruto, also known as "The Great Five Village War Saga" or "Black Zetsu's Endless Search for Mommy."
This was a world built on bloodlines—a world where the most powerful figures were all members of the Otsutsuki Clan.
And yet, despite being an orphan with no surname or kekkei genkai… he wasn't worried.
Because he had something special.
His cheat, the Talent Copy System, activated when he turned one year old.
Aside from seeing talent orbs floating around other people, he could also access a personal status screen—a glowing panel in his mind that only he could see. Even mirrors wouldn't reflect it.
At three years old, he received a newbie gift pack, which changed everything.
Now, as he walked into the Ninja Academy, he called up his status screen:
[Name: Kenjiro]
[Talent Perks: Otsutsuki Bloodline (Red), Kage-Level Potential (Gold), Kekkei Genkai: Byakugan (Purple), All-Attribute Affinity (Purple), Medical Genius (Blue), Chakra Control (Blue)]
[Points: 25]
Most people only had one or two talents—if they had any at all.
But Kenjiro?
He had six.
However, he hadn't always been this overpowered.
When he first activated his system, he had just one talent: [Chunin Aptitude (Green)].
But by the time he turned three, he had completely rewritten his fate.
Now, in this generation, he was the most talented individual of them all.
No one had better potential than him—only those who were equal to him.
Through trial and error, Kenjiro had figured out how his Talent Copy System worked.
It allowed him to copy talents from others.
So far, he had discovered three ways to do it:
If the battle was a fair fight, he had a high chance of getting a low-tier talent and a tiny chance of obtaining a high-tier one.
If he defeated someone stronger, he had an even higher chance of getting a high-tier talent.
If he crushed an opponent effortlessly, the chance was extremely low, but still possible.
There was also the Newbie Gift Pack.
This was a one-time feature that let him copy any talent from anyone he chose.
When he realized he had been reborn in Year 48 of the Hidden Leaf, the same year as Naruto and the others, Kenjiro immediately thought about using his copy ability on Naruto.
After all, Naruto was the main character of this world.
He had the chakra of Asura, the body of the Sage of Six Paths, an unawakened Uzumaki bloodline, and on top of all that—Kurama, the Nine-Tails.
Even though Naruto sucked at controlling chakra as a kid, his sheer potential was insane. His chakra reserves were always growing, thanks to his bloodline and the seal inside him.
If Naruto had any perks related to Asura's chakra or the Sage Body, Kenjiro could copy them and instantly gain incredible potential.
Another solid option was Sasuke Uchiha.
Like Naruto, Sasuke was also a reincarnation of the Sage's sons. He had the Sage's Eyes and an equally powerful fate.
But just as Kenjiro was hunting for Naruto and Sasuke, he accidentally bumped into a Hyuga clan member on the street—
And in that moment, an idea hit him like lightning.
Yes, in this era, Naruto and Sasuke were the strongest talents in the world.
They were the destined reincarnations of the Sage's sons, carrying on the will of Hashirama and Madara. They had the backing of Hagoromo Otsutsuki himself.
Once their potential fully bloomed, they were bound to become super-Kage level warriors.
And if they received Hagoromo's power-up, they could even break past the limits of Madara and Hashirama—reaching the realm of the gods.
Yes, on Earth, no one had greater potential than them.
But what about beyond Earth?
