Sosora ate her burger and the next before the others dared to talk to her and joined her at the table with the food they had prepared, whether it be grilled steak or just patties. At first, they had to force themselves to talk about whatever they could think of since they weren't sure how to act around Sosora.
But it didn't take long for the conversation to derail and flow naturally. Sosora might be blind and in the midst of a deep emotional upheaval, but she was still Sosora. She was still their friend. That hadn't changed. They could talk to her as usual.
Unintentionally or not, they steered clear of serious topics like the current state of the forest and what had happened between the tribes following the incident at the Orovir tunnels.
Malak stepped back and double-checked to make sure that Sosora would be fine before grabbing Nick's attention and pulling him to the side so that they could talk just the two of them.
