Vafrid looked at Squawks' back as he left the forest outskirts. He could tell Squawks was trying to blend in with the trees, but it wasn't going very well.
Vafrid sighed heavily as he turned around and started trudging toward the meeting. Squawks had brought significant news. But why did he have to be the one to share it with the other tribes? Whether he wanted to or not, it would make him involved in whatever followed.
Unfortunately, he was already involved due to his connection with Squawks. It was already too late for Vafrid to stick his head in the sand.
It seemed like the meeting was just about to start when Vafrid arrived. He nodded once at the Husr tribe's representative, Ugrid, who was also his big sister. She raised an eyebrow, wondering why her distant brother had suddenly shown up.
