"We've got to get out of here! At-least somewhere safe..." Vyus yelled out, attempting to give out a speech that'll encourage determination upon Ugurth.
However, he was still lost within his mind. "My...parents...they were in that area," he said, at a loss for words.
Then, Vyus completely halted, losing his patience. "Listen! There's nothing we can do...we're powerless! We can worry about that after we're safe!"
Vyus grabbed Ugurth's head, and stared right into his eyes, with a desperate expression. "You need to live! Make your parents proud!"
Ugurth took these words in, and held onto them. "Okay...yeah! I'll live to make my parents proud!"
Vyus gave out a light smirk, he managed to get Ugurth out of his pathetic state, now all they could do is focus on surviving.
"Follow me, I know a plac—"
Suddenly, a gigantic boulder came crashing down onto the ground near them, which sent a shiver down Vyus's and Ugurth's spine.
"What the hell was that?!" Ugurth yelled out, slowly losing his once re-forged determination.
'Damn it all, so its confirmed that we're under attack, but why does this boulder look so weird...?' Vyus thought, as he was approaching the boulder.
He got closer, and closer. Eventually, he laid his eyes upon something terrifying; blood. It was smeared all over the boulder.
He got closer, seeking to see what caused his blood. Eventually, his body was next to it. His face was pale upon his realisation.
"Its...a Warrior of the Deep"
Ugurth fell back upon hearing these words, with sweat dropping from his forehead.
"Warrior...of the...Deep? No way, I thought they...were invincible!"
'Ugh, so the enemy we're dealing with is on the level of a Deep Warrior...?" Vyus questioned, still attempting to find clues.
"Okay...yeah, its okay! We can still survive!" He reassured Ugurth, as he turned his head back to Ugurth.
However, once he turned his head, aa quick splatter of blood made contact with his face, as it was smeared all over his right eye. 'Huh...?'
In front of him was...a headless corpse? Vyus's eyes looked emotionless and mentally, he was in a state of confusion.
Ugurth was just behind him, sulking about how they'd die, surely nothing bad happened to him, right?
'It...it can't be...'
That headless body...was Ugurth. This realisation caused Vyus to grab his head in disbelief, tears rolling down his eyes.
"What...on earth is happening..."
Then, an enigmatic figure, holding what seemed to be katana emerged. He donned a black cloak, with yellow stripe-like patterns on it, and he had a hood, covering the entire upper-half of his head.
"You shall die, young deep demon."
Vyus turned his head back as quickly as he could, but it was too late. A cold sensation shivered around him, and his hands, no, his body felt numb.
On the inside, he felt hollow, as if he was an empty human, with no organs, or insides, but, those thoughts changed when he looked down.
There was only one thing he saw; blood, and it wasn't just anyone's blood...it was his blood.
Vyus's conclusion was that the enigmatic figure pierced his stomach. Then, his enitre body felt heavy, as he started gasping for air.
Attempting to seal his wound with his hand, Vyus was desperate, but the figure quickly took action.
He violently stomped on the exact area that the blood came out of, which made Vyus vomit out even more blood. He kept on repeating this process.
Vyus's cries were getting louder, and his screaming grew more croakier, as if a pregnant woman was constantly kicked in the belly.
"This pain is no where near the level that you deserve. You wretched filthy underground demon!"
He continued stomping Vyus's stomach, leaving no room for air to be inhaled.
'...I just wanted to take over...the association...' Vyus thought, the noise of his screams, and agony slowly disappearing, and being overtaken by imaginations.
'I wish...I was stronger...I wish I had the power...the power to maintain peace...'
Then, the agony began to slowly re-emerged at the same time as his imaginations faded; he was coming back to reality.
'Damn it...I'm blacking out. I'm going to...die...' Vyus thought about his life, as it flashed before his eyes.
However, drawing his last breath of life, he came to a final conclusion; 'I guess...I didn't live as bad of a life as I'd thought.'
His vision became blurry, then it slowly turned dark—as if it was some sort of void. 'Goodbye...forsakened world.'
Then, that once darkness that he felt, spiraling all around him, became a bright light that harmonized him.
'Huh...what's this?' Vyus didn't know what was going on. He simply wanted to die and return to his parents in the skies, but he was intercepted.
His willl, his mindset, has been ignored by something. Then, a new will made itself at home, within his mind; 'live.'
His determination, no, his adrenaline only unique towards the Deep Ones reached its peak. The adrenaline to live was flowing through him, rapidly.
His injuries—they were mere illusions to him now. All he could do is live, and continue forward, within life.
The blade that pierced through his stomach? He pushed his body upon that blade, making the katana visible from the other side of his body.
"How...does he still fight?" The figure asked, questioning on how a Deep One could push himself beyond limits, despite being next to death's door.
Vyus grabbed the handle, and in a wrathful scream, he threw it out of the figures reach, and with pure adrenaline, he grabbed the blade out of his stomach, freeing himself from it.
His blood loss was obvious though, which is why, he had to use his specialty, his only ability, in order to survive; 'run...'
Time around him halted, as his lungs inhaled his mandatory air for survival. Vyus gasped as calmly as he could, trying to follow the rhythm and flow of the air around him.
His legs tensed up, and then, he released it. Everything that he had, his power, his energy, began to eradicate as he sprinted towards the path beyond himself.
Looking back now, the figure was no where to be seen. It was like he teleported to a different place altogether.
"I need...I need to regroup with the Warriors of the Deep!" Vyus yelled out to himself, his adrenaline still flourishing.
This new-found ambition was short-lived, however, as more enigmatic figures emerged from the shadows.
'Shit...they're almost as fast as me?'
Vyus continued to sprint, but his stamina did not have an infinite amount of energy—but, fortunately, that answered his dumb question.
'These guys also don't have infinite stamina, which is why I'll just have to make them waste their stamina, in order to catch me...'
Instead of going in one path, he used his speed to go into multiple paths of the area.
He went from one wooden house to the other, narrowly dodging obstacles ahead.
Eventually, his line of vision couldn't see them. However, this wasn't for the reason Vyus thought.
He looked upwards, then left, then right, no sightings. Vyus looked ahead of him, to see multiple figures rushing towards him.
'They...predicted the path I would take?' Vyus was caught off-guard. He attempted to return to a different path, but it was too late.
One figure passed by, and landed a precise cut on Vyus's right cheek. "Damn it!" Vyus yelled out, whilst trying to avoid the rest of the horde.
However, their unpredictability was apparent. Before Vyus could fathom what happened, he looked to his left—his arm...gone.
'Wha—' Vyus coughed up blood, whilst remaining in his spot. This was most certainly the end.
He fell back onto the ground, with the figures halting their actions, and turning their gaze upon his body; "This Deep One was hard to catch."
Vyus's blood, too, reached the ground, whilst making its way onto his chest. He's lost a lot of blood.
Even if he managed to escape, his death was inevitable.
"Undalith...you really created a cruel world..." Vyus said, his voice in a croaky rhythm.
The figures chuckled, and smirked, whilst hearing this.
"Oh, is Undalith that false god that the Deep One's race worships?" One of them said, their voice in an arrogant tone.
"Yeah, I think so. Talk about a false godhood," the other figure confirmed with him.
Vyus drew up his very last breaths, as he mustered up his last words; "Even though you created a world with non-believers...I still believe that you will ascend those who held their belief...within the world of the above."
As these words came out of his mouth, Vyus's face laid emotionless, his eyes bland, his face showing no evidence of movement, his skin turning pale. He was dead.
