Baron stood near the door in shock and disbelief. "What are you saying? Are you kidding right now?"
He turns to his son. "Although he did say that he would, but…" Cedric turned and began walking outside. "wait, I have to welcome him," But he turns around and enters the room again. "No, I should first wake them up first,"
"Siena", Baron gently taps on his wife's chick, until she opens her eyes, barely enough to see who was in front.
"The King is here" The grin on his face said how surprised and happy he was.
She replies while rubbing her eyes. "The king? Why would he be here? What does he want from us? We just became noble a year ago. We are in a dream" She says as she closes her eyes again.
"For our child"
As those words reached her ears, her eyes widened, heaviness in her eyelids flew away in an instant. She pulled the baby closer to her chest, while the baby calmly slept under his mom's protection. "Why would he want my child, it's my child"
"Calm down, calm down," Her husband says with a gentle voice, placing his hand on her face. "He is here to see the child, not to take your child" A chuckle breaks out as he comforts his wife.
"He told me a month ago that he would come to our house. I didn't believe it at first, but now, here he is."
"But why would—"
"Let's first go and greet him, he is the King remember?" Baron said, holding his wife's hand; as she stood up, then held her baby.
Newborn's eyes slightly opened as he heard all the noises.
'Good morning, Bastard, ' Thomas thinks as he gives a small yawn with his small mouth, then sleep again.
…
"We are so grateful and lucky that you came to our house, Your Majesty," hearing the voice, Thomas again woke up, and after a few attempt finally opened his eyes properly and took a look at the visitors.
While being held by his mother, who sat on the sofa, he looked at them silently. A man in his thirties, a woman seemed to be in her twenties, and another man, standing beside them, who looked like a knight, seemed to be in his twenties.
The King and Queen were looking at him with a gentle smile. It looked genuine. 'all of them…..' Ray continued wide eyes, as wide as it can get, 'their hair…. It's brown….'
Thomas clenches his fist. 'Where is the colourful hair I had been promised?'
King had properly groomed facial hair, knight didn't have any facial hair, both had good-looking faces. Tall and lean body.
While the queen didn't have any facial hair, and she was even shorter than the knight and the King. But she did had something a king and knight could never have. Thomas had yet to notice that.
'You said the world would be the same as those other fantasy stories; almost all fictional stories have colourful hair; you deceived me,' Ray replied, grinding his gingiva.
'liar,' Thomas replied, looking at the air in anger, while being stared at by the queen.
"Ohh, children look cute even when they are angry," She says, with her hand on her lips, then she shifted her gaze to the mother, "Can I hold him?"
Although the mother did not want to give her child to the Queen, she had no other options. The Queen stretches her hand and takes the child.
"Hello little guy, how are you?" She said, playing with his lips.
Thomas then saw the thing, 'They are red... crimson red eyes, Why are my eyes only brown?' The child's brown eyes gradually became watery, then he frowned.
'Give me cool eyes too, blue eyes and white hair; that is all I want.' his eyes filled with water, then it overflowed and came out to his chin.
Seina's eyes fell on the tears, she hesitated for a second, then stood up, "I am sorry, Your Highness; I believe he is unfamiliar with new people; please forgive us," she then snatched her child away from the Queen, and started comforting him.
'That's.. that's discrimination,'
'Fucking liar,'
"It is okay; I used to cry a lot when I was a toddler, too," said the queen with an awkward smile before apologizing to the child.
'… but how does she know that she used to cry when she was a child?' Thomas asks after he stopped crying.
<...Her parents loved her enough to tell her I guess,>
'hmm, that makes sense' his eyes then came back to normal.
< What? Your parents never told you?>
The child who had just stopped crying, his brown eyes became watery again. 'i… They did… I just forgot' As his mother sees her child's eyes, she puts him closer to her, with her head on his head, and hand behind his head.
"It's fine, don't worry, they will go away soon", She whispers before giving him a gentle kiss on the head.
'... Does she think they can't hear her?' Thomas turns towards the Queen, who was looking at his father. '..... I guess they didn't,' His gaze then shifted to the knight, who was looking at the baroness, clenching his teeth, 'I guess they did,'
While looking at the guard, Thomas feels as if he is levitating upwards, before he realises it is his mother who is standing up.
"Alright, we will be going now; take good care of that charming boy." The Baroness and the baron bowed In Front of the King and Queen before they left the place.
…..
In the night, when they were getting ready to sleep, Baroness had held her son. "Alright, sleeping time already; let me put my baby to sleep," She says while hugging her child tightly.
"That sounds bad for some reason," Father said, looking at them with slightly wide eyes.
"Why would it?" She asks with narrowed eyebrows, then it widened. "Ohh, the queen was staring a lot at my baby, where is that amulet that the priest gave me?" She said as she picked out a black amulet from below her bed.
"Well, he is charming so..."
Mom looks at his husband with sharp eyes. "I have to ask for another one"
".....But he is my son, too" His smile faded away as he looked at Seina with concern.
"No, I mean he is my son first"
Thomas stares at them in silent, fighting over him with each other.
The poor author sat on his desk eating cannon food. Eyes are not revealed as always. "Okay, dude, I'm done with today's writing; see ya in another chapter," he says before closing the laptop, and then stood up, and walked out while stretching his hands.
'wait, what does that mean? What will happen to the world until then? What is going to happen to all these characters until then?' Thomas tried communicating, but no one responded; he couldn't even feel the presence of the outer anymore.
With concern, he slowly turned his head.
What happens to a person's thoughts when they do not think about them? Could Thomas be trapped in nothingness like before? With this body? He turns his worried gaze to two of the story's key characters. They were…. Smiling, while looking at their only child.
The unnamed child, stared at his parents without thinking anything for a few seconds, then he thought, 'Are they really just characters?'
