That Sunday morning, Yeager stood in the front yard with a proud smile. In front of him, two brand-new motorcycles gleamed under the morning sun. Zevanya, just stepping out of the house, widened her eyes in shock at the sight.
"Brother, are these… our motorcycles?" she asked, almost unable to believe it.
Yeager nodded, patting one of the bikes. "Yep. I bought two—one for you, and one for me, so I can give Noel a ride."
Zevanya approached, running her hand over the smooth surface of the bike, still in awe. "But… I've never ridden a motorcycle before…"
Yeager grinned. "That's why I'm teaching you today."
Before long, they were on an empty street near their house, with Zevanya sitting nervously on her bike. Yeager stood beside her, explaining the basics.
"Alright, first things first—this is the brake, and this is the throttle. Don't speed up too fast, just take it slow and feel the balance first."
Zevanya nodded seriously, swallowing her nerves. Hesitantly, she twisted the throttle slightly, and the motorcycle started moving forward at a slow pace.
Yeager walked alongside her, ready to catch her if anything went wrong. Noel, sitting quietly on the second motorcycle, simply observed with his usual neutral expression while hugging a small plush toy in his arms.
After several attempts—some shaky, some nearly disastrous—Zevanya finally started getting the hang of it. She was soon riding more smoothly, gaining confidence with each passing moment.
Yeager whistled, laughing. "Wow, you've got some talent after all!"
Zevanya giggled, feeling a sense of pride. "This is actually fun!" she exclaimed as she rode with more control.
After a few hours of practice, they headed back home. Zevanya was still buzzing with excitement, while Noel remained his usual calm self.
"Starting tomorrow, we'll ride these to school," Yeager said, patting his own bike. "No more taking the bus."
Zevanya's face lit up with a huge smile. "Thank you, Brother!"
Yeager simply ruffled her hair with a grin. He knew that, little by little, their lives were starting to feel a bit easier.
After finishing the motorcycle practice, Yeager sat on the porch, sipping a cold drink. Zevanya was still admiring her motorcycle, while Noel sat beside her, focused on his toy.
Suddenly, Yeager clapped his hands, grabbing his siblings' attention. "Alright, we have a big task today," he announced with a serious tone.
Zevanya turned to him suspiciously. "A big task? What now, brother?"
Yeager smirked. "We're going to renovate the house."
Zevanya's eyes widened. "What?! Renovate? Why so suddenly?"
Yeager shrugged casually. "I've been thinking about it for a while. Our house is old, the paint is dull, and some parts feel uncomfortable. Now that we have money, it's the perfect time to fix things up."
Zevanya thought for a moment before nodding. "Hmm… that actually makes sense. I'd love to have a prettier room too."
Noel, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly raised his hand and said in a flat tone, "I want a bigger room."
Yeager chuckled. "Alright, Sir Noel, your request is noted."
Not wasting any time, Yeager called some construction workers and ordered the necessary materials.
Shortly after, several workers arrived, bringing their tools, ready to start the renovation. As they began dismantling parts of the house, Yeager, Zevanya, and Noel helped where they could—moving furniture, cleaning dusty corners, and sorting through old belongings.
While lifting some old boxes from the storage room, Zevanya sneezed multiple times. "Ugh, there's so much dust! Brother, we should've done this a long time ago!"
Yeager laughed. "That's why we're doing it now—to make our home more comfortable!"
Noel, meanwhile, simply sat on the sofa, munching on his snacks, uninterested in all the work. Every now and then, he glanced at the workers with curiosity but still chose to enjoy his food rather than help.
By the afternoon, their house was already starting to transform. The once dull walls were being repainted, cracked floors were getting fixed, and old furniture was being replaced with new ones.
During a break, the three of them sat on the porch, enjoying cold iced tea. Zevanya leaned her head on Yeager's shoulder and said, "I can't wait to see the final result. I think our house will be so much better than before."
Yeager smiled, ruffling her hair. "Definitely. This is a new beginning for us."
Although the renovation wasn't complete yet, that day felt like a big step toward a better life for the three of them.
As the sun began to set, their house was still in a state of chaos. The renovation was far from complete, with furniture stacked in corners and workers finishing up various repairs.
Zevanya, who had just finished sweeping dust from her room, suddenly asked, "So… where are we sleeping tonight?"
Yeager, lounging on a temporary couch—since their real one had been moved to the garage—chuckled casually. "Well, obviously not here. Look, your room still smells like fresh paint, and Noel's room isn't even finished yet."
Zevanya crossed her arms. "Then? Don't tell me we're sleeping outside?"
Yeager smirked. "Of course not. I've already booked a hotel for the three of us."
Zevanya's eyes widened. "Seriously, bro?! A hotel?!"
Noel, who had been sitting quietly, hugging his stuffed toy, turned to Yeager and asked in a monotone voice, "Does it come with free breakfast?"
Yeager burst into laughter, ruffling Noel's hair. "Of course, Sir Noel. I even picked a hotel with a big breakfast buffet so you can eat as much as you want."
Zevanya cheered. "Finally! A night of comfort!"
Without wasting time, they packed a few essentials and left their half-renovated home. That night, they enjoyed a peaceful stay at the hotel—soft beds, cool air-conditioning, and, of course, the luxurious breakfast Noel had been looking forward to.
As Yeager watched his siblings relax and enjoy themselves, he felt a sense of relief. Even if it was just for one night, he was glad he could give them a little comfort amid the chaos.
That night, after enjoying dinner at the hotel and resting for a while in their room, Zevanya, still amazed by the renovations in their house, began speaking while lying on the soft bed.
"Yeager," she said with a curious tone, "I noticed that our house has this classic European look, right? The walls are painted in cream tones. Was that your idea?"
Yeager, who was sitting in a chair checking some messages on his phone, looked up and smiled. "Yeah, that was my idea. I thought the cream and neutral tones would make our house feel warmer and more comfortable. A bit more elegant, you know?"
Zevanya nodded. "So you guys really chose those colors? Like the houses in Europe that I see in movies?"
Yeager chuckled softly. "Yeah, I wanted to give it a different vibe, something stylish. So you guys not only feel comfortable, but also proud of our home."
Zevanya sat up on her bed, lightly touching the soft hotel blanket. "It's pretty cool. Our house is going to be different from the others. It'd be fun if we have a house that can make people amazed."
Yeager looked at his sister, a slight smile on his face. "That's the goal, Zev. So we can feel comfortable and proud. And for you both, I also thought about how to make our home feel like a real home."
Noel, who had been quietly sitting with his stuffed toy, suddenly looked up. "I want a bigger room and lots of toys," he said flatly.
Yeager laughed softly. "Yeah, yeah. Your room is definitely going to be bigger, with plenty of space for all your toys, so you'll be happy."
Zevanya smiled, watching their interaction. "That's why I'm so happy to have a brother like you, Kak Yeager. You think of everything."
Yeager nodded, feeling relieved seeing both of his siblings happy. "I just want you both to feel safe and comfortable. Even though there's a lot I have to take care of, I'll always be here for you."
That night, they rested with peaceful minds, knowing that despite all the challenges in their days, they could face them together.
As Yeager was about to close his eyes to rest, his phone suddenly rang. The number on the screen was Valerie's, one of his detective colleagues.
Yeager answered the phone quickly. "Hello?"
"Yeager, where are you?" Valerie's voice sounded eager on the other end of the line. "Darren, David, and I are at the café, and we need to talk about something important for the next mission."
Yeager looked at his phone and then glanced over at his sleeping siblings. "I'm at a hotel with Zevanya and Noel, but alright, I'll head over. Just give me a second."
"Okay, we'll be waiting. Don't take too long, we have a few things to discuss." Valerie sounded more excited now.
Yeager hung up the phone and stood up from the bed, quickly tidying up. He looked back at Zevanya and Noel, who were fast asleep."I feel bad leaving them, but this is important," he murmured quietly.
He left the room key on the table and closed the door softly to avoid waking them. A few minutes later, Yeager left the hotel and made his way to the café, which was not too far from where he was staying.
When he arrived at the café, he spotted Valerie, Darren, and David sitting at a corner table. They waved him over, making space for him to sit.
"Finally," Darren said as he handed Yeager a hot cup of coffee. "We need to talk about something related to your mission at the school."
Yeager sat down, took the coffee with a smile, but his expression turned serious. "What's going on?"
David began the conversation, "There's a sign that your case at the school might involve more people than we initially thought. Some individuals seem to be trying to block the investigation."
Yeager leaned back in his chair, looking at them with a serious expression. "We have to be careful. But before we go further, I've got something more urgent… My brother, Noel, he's starting to get worse treatment. I need to make sure he's safe."
Valerie nodded, fully understanding how much Yeager cared about protecting his siblings. "You're not alone, Yeager. We're all here to help. We'll find a way to make sure everything stays safe so you can focus on the mission."
Yeager took a sip of his coffee, feeling a little more at ease after hearing their support. "Thanks, guys. We'll need to be extra careful. I'll keep an eye on everything happening at the school."
As they continued discussing, they planned the next steps for the investigation and how to ensure Noel and Zevanya's safety. Yeager knew it wouldn't be easy, but with his team's help, he felt confident they could face whatever challenges came their way.
Darren looked at Yeager with a serious expression, then pulled out a photo from his bag."Here," he said, placing the photo on the table. The picture showed a young girl with a sweet smile standing in the middle of a group of young men.
"This is Ariana Manosel," Darren continued, pointing to the girl in the photo. "She's the daughter of Victor Manosel, the owner of the school your siblings are attending. Ariana just finished a student exchange program, and tomorrow she's coming back to school."
Yeager examined the photo closely, taking in the girl's face. "Ariana, huh? So, she's the owner's daughter." Yeager paused, trying to figure out if this had any connection to the case he was handling.
Darren went on. "But that's not all you need to know. In this photo is also a guy named Zico Palma." He pointed to another young man in the picture. "He's the son of Stephen Palma, a high-ranking official who has close ties with Victor Manosel. They're in business together."
Valerie added, "Their connection could be a key to what's going on at the school. Somehow, they seem involved in activities that aren't entirely above board."
Yeager furrowed his brow, thinking about the possibilities. "What are they planning?" he wondered. "This is bigger than I thought."
David, who had been silent up until now, spoke up. "We need to be more careful. If these people are involved, your mission just got more complicated. Ariana might know more about what's really going on at the school."
Yeager nodded, realizing that this wasn't just a case of bullying. "Okay, tomorrow I'll dig deeper into Ariana and Zico. They might hold the key to uncovering what's really happening."
Darren then pulled out more documents showing additional information about the relationship between Victor Manosel and Stephen Palma. "We also need to find out what they're really planning with the school. We can't trust them blindly."
Yeager leaned back in his chair and took a deep breath. "I have to be careful. If this involves powerful people like them, I can't rush things. I need solid proof."
Valerie, Darren, and David exchanged glances before focusing back on Yeager. "We're here to help you, Yeager," Valerie said firmly. "You're not alone in this."
Yeager smiled slightly. "Thanks, all of you. This is just the beginning, but I believe we can handle whatever comes next."
That night, although many questions remained unanswered, Yeager felt a little more at ease. He knew that to protect his siblings and uncover the truth, he had to move carefully—and with the support of his friends, he was confident he could face the challenges ahead.
