Shien returned from school and opened the garden gate of his house. As he stepped inside, he saw his mother running toward him with her arms wide open, a bright smile on her face. Seeing her, a big smile spread across Shien's own face. Without hesitation, he ran toward her and embraced her tightly.
But his face was covered in bruises and cuts. His mother immediately noticed, her eyes filling with concern. She gently cupped his cheek with her hand, looking at him with sadness.
Shien: "I'm fine, Mom. I just got hit while playing soccer."
Just then, mocking voices came from outside the garden.
Children: "Aww, how sweet! So even alien mothers love their kids!" (they laugh)
Shien turned toward them angrily, his voice firm and unwavering.
Shien: "My mother has a disease, okay?! You can't talk about her like that!"
The children's laughter suddenly faded, their faces turning cold and expressionless. One of them smirked and spoke with a mocking tone.
???: "Oh? So you think we're the ones in the wrong? I guess the beating you got at school wasn't enough to teach you a lesson."
???: "Yeah, I think so too."
Shien's mother quickly stepped in front of him, spreading her arms wide as if to shield him. Her eyebrows were furrowed with worry. The two boys exchanged glances before bursting into laughter again.
???: "Hah! The aliens I read about in stories were dumb, but this is on another level!"
???: "Yeah, totally! Hahaha!"
Suddenly, one of them threw a brutal punch at Shien's mother's stomach. She gasped in pain and collapsed onto the ground.
???: "Stay out of our way, bitch."
The other boy spat on her face as she lay there, helpless.
???: "Now… where were we?" (he said with an emotionless gaze)
Time passed, and the two boys eventually left, heading home as if nothing had happened.
Shien lay on the ground, his face covered in blood. His mother sat beside him, tears falling from her eyes onto his wounded skin.
Slowly, Shien opened his eyes. He reached for his mother's hand and, with great effort, sat up. Gently, he cupped her cheek with his small hand and whispered with a faint smile:
Shien: "Don't mind them, Mom… You're the kindest person in this world. They just don't know it."
His mother sobbed as she hugged him tightly. But as they made their way back into the house, the warmth in Shien's face gradually faded. His expression turned serious, his gaze dark and unwavering.
"If anyone dares to lay a hand on my mother again… I'll make them regret it."
