"Let us be on our way" He commanded.
"Very well, sir Yuuta, please follow me"
The two exited the warehouse, stepping into the raging snowstorm. The guards stationed outside of the warehouse stood at attention after saluting him, their breath visible in the freezing air in the small base he had created in seemingly nowhere in the middle of a snow plain.
The world beyond the warehouse was swallowed by darkness, snowflakes swirling violently under the flickering overhead lights.
A black SUV idled nearby, its engine rumbling softly in the freezing weather. Vladimir opened the door, allowing Yuuta to step in first before sliding in himself. The warmth of the vehicle was a stark contrast to the biting cold outside, with the driver wearing a black tuxedo giving a simple bow and entering the SUV from the front. As the vehicle rumbled forward, navigating through the snowy roads, Vladimir finally spoke.
"So, these new contractors, the Italians …Do you know what they're after, Sir?"
Yuuta leaned back in his seat, flicking open his cigarette pack. He placed one between his lips but didn't light it just yet. He sighed slowly, with the coldness of the weather evident from his visible breath, the car not heating up completely yet.
"Weapons, on the surface I say. Motives are unknown. Did you get what I asked for?"
Vladimir chuckled, adjusting his grip on his massive weapon before opening a black bloodied handbag as he opened the rusting zipper and put his hand inside it, grabbing a hold of a 10 inch tablet.
"Yes, sir. Here is the information you asked for"
He handed Yuuta the tablet, an Applet with a few cracks on it and blood stains, displaying the story of a fierce and bloody fight that had taken place not long ago.
The boy quietly fixed his gaze on the tablet, opening it using the side button on the top, and quickly inserted the pin which was formed from 12 digit pins and symbols. Before further proceeding, he asked Vladimir a question.
"Where is Eliza?" He inquired, not removing his eyes from the tablet as he scrolled down the installed pdf that contained the information about his contractors. He squinted his eyes at a sentence he read before slowly closing his eyes and sighing.
His new contractors were just too weird for him to ignore, making their motives seem clouded. Yuuta had around fifteen possible motives to why they may have needed weapons from his specifically and had formulated plans to how to counter them if worst comes to worst.
To the unexpected question, Vladimir hesitated momentarily before smirking as he answered Yuuta question, knowing why he was asking about her.
"Eliza is enjoying the sandy beaches in Hawaii and the cold cocktails"
Yuuta closed his eyes conveying to Vladimir what he wanted him to do.
"Do you want me to call her? Should I tell her to book a plane to Italy, Sir?"
Vladimir asked in understanding, trying to hide a smirk that subconsciously appeared on his face, failing miserably at it.
"Hm, give me the phone I will call her" Yuuta slightly nodded his head in response to his question as Vladimir put his burly hands in his pocket, taking out a grey burner phone that seemed to be an old Nokia type that could flip open and close. He dialed a number on the phone, clicking on the buttons slowly before clicking on the green phone icon on a button, waiting as it vibrated.
Brrrrrrrrr!
Brrrrrrrrr!
Before the burner phone rang the third time a beep sound sounded as the phone call got picked up.
Hurriedly, Vladimir gave the phone to Yuuta, nodding his head. A feminine voice came over the phone in an outburst as Yuuta put the phone to his ears, looking at the dark, turbulent snowy night with his SUV heading to the airport.
"Which of you motherfuckers decided on calling me on my goddamn vacation with an unknown numbers was a good idea?! I already told you I won't go on a date with you! If you try to call me one more time, I swear I'll fucking put a bullet through your sk-"
The moment Yuuta put the phone on his ears, the feminine voice started cussing non stop as if he was her sworn enemy, her voice dripping with anger and fury.
Yuuta answered with a calm voice as if he was used to her sudden outbursts.
"Hello" Yuuta said listlessly.
On the other side, a gasp was heard from the phone as the voice went silent for a moment, except from the SUV's engine rumbling and Vladimirs muffled laughter seeping from his hands that covered his mouth at the sudden change and shift in demeanor.
A deep breath of Eliza on the other side of the phone was heard as it seemed she gathered her courage to answer her boss.
"B-boss? Was there something you needed for me?" Despite her readiness to answer her boss, her voice betrayed a tinge of nervousness. Instead of her confident voice that was 'supposed' to come out, only whimpering was heard.
"Mm" He confirmed.
"What is it, Boss? Y-you know, I-im kinda enjoying my second day of vacatio-"
"Come to Italy" He answered flatly. "We have a contract with an eccentric group"
A sigh could be heard from Eliza as she realized how futile it was to try to convince her boss that she only spent a day on vacation and today was on her second, still having at least five more days to spend her time in Hawaii. Tears appeared in her eyes as she imagined leaving the sunny beach, beautiful sand, blue glimmering ocean, the ice cold cocktails abandoning it for a bloody battlefield.
No! She wouldn't let her boss toy with her any more! It was finally time to grow some balls of steel-errr. Maybe not.
She's a woman after all for gods sake!
"No, Boss! I will not go to Ita-" She mustered the courage to speak back to her boss however…..
"Eliza" Yuuta called her name once, to which she shut her mouth up, and went from a confident woman to a rain-drenched kitty as she whimpered in resignation.
"S-sure thing boss, I'll be in Italy by tomorrow. Is that fine?" She grumbled in exasperation, surrendering to her fate.
"Yes. Oh, I forgot to mention" Yuuta suddenly remembered something.
"Yes, boss?"
By this time, Eliza had become quite gloomy with a bad mood after listening to what seemed like her death sentence.
"After this contract, you are free to spend two more weeks wherever you wish, I say" Yuuta answered bluntly. His only current wish was to go visit his large safe under ground in Alaska that was around as large as two story buildings filled with cash and gold and sleep in its shiny warm embraces.
At the sudden information dump that Yuuta told to Eliza, her excited voice went from a gloomy human being to one that seemed to have found a secret gold safe underground. At least in Yuuta's perspective.
"Really?! Is that true boss??"
"Yes" He answered smoothly.
"Thank you sooo much boss! Your the best boss ever!"
In her 5-star hotel, Eliza started jumping everywhere excitedly in her oversized shirt and panties before she tripped on herself and hit her head on a marble counter.
Bam!
"Ow!"
Her eyes became teary one again as she softly rubbed her head before letting out a small cat like smile.
"Hee, hee~ Bossy boss is the best!"
Unbeknownst to Yuuta who had long hanged the phone before giving it back to Vladimir, he asked the driver to hand him the chess board he had besides him, before he took it from the driver who seemed focused on the highway.
Yuuta then told Vladimir to scooch over before he put the chess board between them, with him choosing white and gesturing with his lazy eyes to Vladimir to start playing.
Yuuta took one last look at the turbulent snow storm outside the window, sensing an ominous premonition. His instincts were never incorrect, and he needed to be extra cautious in case any accidents occurred. He sighed before muttering under his breath a sentence he had once heard as a child in a storybook that fitted the weather right now the best.
"It seems the wind is howling, and the sky is weeping"
He took his eyes off the windows as the two started indulging themselves in chess, with the vehicle disappearing into the snow covered streets, heading toward their next deal in the heart of Italy's underworld.
