Cherreads

Chapter 5 - Energy of hopy.

In the heart of Seoul, on a street where secrecy hides the ugliest crimes behind the curtains of importance, There is"Ak han's nightclub", a gathering place for paramours and crime lords under the guise of fake smiles and loud music, .

Upstairs, behind doors ornately decorated with black gold, Ak Hani sits in his luxurious office. He doesn't have a simple desk, but rather a congratulatory plaque: harsh, elegant, and luxurious.

Behind him, a modern photograph hangs on the wall. A boy and a little girl, dressed in shabby outfits, proudly touch the head of a giant tiger, demonstrating their bloody victory since childhood.

But what most attracts attention is the logo on the center and the silver vase next to it—a skull with a spear pierced from the side and emerging from its right eyeball, glowing with a blue flame...as if to symbolize the despair buried in hearts.

He knocks on the door three times.

With Hanak in the hanging photograph, he says, "Come in."

A tall, red-faced, hawk-eyed man, wearing a suit, and two other men with excellent postures arrived.

"Mr. Han, everything is ready... She's on her way."

,Han Ak smiled slowly, leaned back in his leather seat, and said in a deep tone:

"Well done, Song. I'm looking forward to seeing her."

In a small law office, under the pale yellow light, a man in his fifties sat, pressing a trembling hand against the wooden surface of his desk.

That wasn't the case.

Three men in black suits stood conspicuously around him, their weapons drawn, but not yet pointed at him... but the final one was.

One was twirling a dagger between his fingernails, while another was plotting his plans behind his back, waiting for the perfect moment to pull the trigger.

The third, as he waited silently, had his eyes glowing red like a predator enjoying the sight of its prey being slaughtered.

The lawyer swallowed hard, his mouth trembling as he reached for his phone.

The phone rang twice, and then Suhin's voice came, nervous:

"Uncle? Why are you expecting this at this time? Is there something wrong?"

He took a deep breath, trying to keep his voice steady, but his voice was filled with pent-up fear:

"Sohin... you have to come right away."

A heavy silence followed, before she asked anxiously:

"Why? What's going on?!"

His hand trembled as he wiped away the sweat, but a metallic coolness touched his neck when one of the men approached, forcing him to speak quickly:

"She was in an accident... the… the..the…doctors say she won't last long. Please come here."

Sohin's breath hitched, and you stopped time for a moment.

"What did you say?!"

The red-faced man sighed, before repeating in a more trembling voice:

"Haren... you're going to die."

Her voice failed her, her words failing her.

"We're at Cha Specialist Hospital."

He kept hearing her breath on the other end, before she said, in a trembling voice but carrying a harsh determination:

"I'm coming now!"

Then the call ended.

Sohin did not notice an error in his voice because the situation he gave was a difficult situation, and this reflects how intelligent the lawyer is.

The phone remained in his hand, as if his fingers were glued to it.

But before he could catch his breath, he felt another chill run through his body… not from threat this time, but from terror.

A strong hand gripped his shoulder, and another pulled a small body from the dark corner of the room.

It was his daughter.

A young girl, no older than fourteen, with long black hair and a pale face, her eyes wide and filled with terror.

A fourth man emerged from the shadows, holding her tightly, his hand covering her mouth, preventing her from screaming or moving.

The father looked into his daughter's eyes, seeing deadly fear in them… then raised his eyes to the man holding her.

The fourth man smiled and whispered in a low voice, but one that carried indescribable terror:

"You said your turn… Now, shut up."

Then he turned to the three men and said coldly:

"We'll stay here until Suhen arrives at the scene."

Silence fell over the room, leaving only the sound of the man's trembling breathing and his daughter's voiceless screaming eyes.

At Cha Hospital in Seoul, Soo-hyun stood, her expression tinged with fear and terror evident. She made a phone call, her voice heavy and calm, like that of a patient who had just woken up from surgery.

"Uncle, I've arrived. Where are you?"

"Okay, we're on the 7th floor, room 23."

Doubts crept into Sohin's heart, but she blamed herself for these thoughts. Uncle Ji-hoon was like a father to her, having taught and supported her until she reached law school. He was also a successful and well-known lawyer, and his daughter was a friend of Sohin's. She was surprised, but her suspicions were justified, since he hadn't given her the floor or room number during the first call.

Why did he tell her this now, when she had arrived at the hospital?

Sohin ran to the elevator, her mind wandering, her mind wandering, just running to get there.

She bumps into a handsome, tall, young doctor with blonde hair and blue eyes, who looks to be in his twenties.

He tells her, "I'm sorry. Are you okay?"

Sohin gives him a terrifying look, as if to tell him she's going to kill him. She stands up and quickly leaves without a word. To the doctor's surprise, he remains staring at her. She is surprised by his strength, as what she bumped into seemed like a wall. She suspects he's a "spirit energy" user.

Sohin reaches the elevator, where there are four elevators, all occupied. She laments her luck.

The doctor notices her and offers to use the private elevator owned by the hospital owners and accompany her. Sohin hesitates, but her concern for Harin forces her to agree.

When they arrive at the elevator, he tells her which floor she wants to go to.

"The seventh floor."

He freezes for a moment. "This floor is closed for maintenance... Why do you want to go there?"

But he presses the button for the seventh floor to see what happens. When they reach the seventh floor, Suhin runs to Room 23, and the doctor goes with her.

Shock...

When she enters the room, she is surprised to find a dark room and wonders if she could be asleep. The doctor turns on the light, only to be surprised by four men in formal attire surrounding a man sitting on a wooden bench next to an empty, made bed. The door closes on its own.

Sohin is surprised by the scene. They are members of the mafia. What are they doing here? She knows it from the pin he is wearing: a skull pierced by a spear, burning with a blue flame.

One of the men calls:

"Release them."

Sohin realizes she has been deceived. Her facial expression changes. She never expected her teacher to betray her. Despite the pain and despair in her heart, she does not lose hope and tries to escape the predicament she has found herself in. She turns around and runs towards the door with all her strength.

But something invisible grabs her hands and neck, preventing her from moving.

Ak Han moves his hands toward Su-Hen, releasing invisible energy that grabs Sohin.

"I've got you, you brat. Don't worry. I won't hurt you. I'll just use you as leverage. You don't know me, do you? Right? Just a guard on that."

"What do you want from me, you old crone?!"

Sohin shouts, her voice cracking.

"You'll be staying with me for a while. It's wonderful that you came here. As you know, I can't even talk to you in your filthy neighborhood after your guardian angel took control of it. Haha ha ha ha ha ha!"

Sounds of laughter and mockery fill the room.

Suddenly, an unexpected voice sounds: the doctor's.

"I recognized you by the pin on your coat, Mr. Han. It's a pleasure to meet you, but I can't stand silent for a while." "Tallest"

He says this as light gathers around his body, making him appear extremely luminous.

"The energy of hope, the attribute of unlimited light, the sacred shield."
