The fire was starting to spread everywhere in the city. Houses were collapsing, inhabitants were escaping, vendors were abandoning their shops, others were trapped under the rubble, while some remained motionless, having lost their loved ones in this explosion.
Despite the soulless state of the city in the face of death, emotions resurfaced for any human being.
The loss of loved ones…
The realization of their emotions and the fact that this lost facet of the soul was partly created because of them.
In these flames, a man in a long black coat and long white hair, reaching halfway down his back, had a long ponytail, while the rest of his hair was loose.
His eyes were a brownish-black color with a hint of scarlet red glow.
The man who had caused the explosion shouted:
"I am Aiden Blaze, in charge of this city because a demon is hiding here. Sorry for the intrusion." He said this with a smile.
"It looks like you never stop!" shouted the man with white hair.
Aiden looked to his left and saw him.
Upon seeing him, Aiden had rather mixed reactions, such as frustration and fear.
"What, did you see a monster?" said the man with white hair, laughing lightly.
"To find yourself on the northern continent while you're part of the Blaze family... did your parents kick you out?"
"How can you be on the northern continent, Alpha!" said Aiden, upset.
The white-haired man, Alpha, looked at the young Aiden. They vaguely knew each other from the Royal Central Continent: Luxemir, where the law is applied and enforced across the three other continents.
Continent of the North – The Dark Side: Nehmoria
Continent of the South – The Blazing Sun: Azrath
Continent of the East – The Everchanging Seasons: Zephyrion
These four continents each have their climate, their environment, and their own species.
Suddenly, an explosion tore through air, this one almost engulfed Alpha and the two other Pupils. Most of the inhabitants of the soulless city were already dead, and the last survivors had survived, but unfortunately, this last explosion erased all traces of life from the soulless city.
A beast emerged from the explosion. It was a dark beast. Dark beasts are classified by rank:
First rank: Dark beast of the void.
Second rank: Dark beast of the calamity.
Third rank: Dark beast of the black wave.
The three types can use the power of darkness. Their attacks and techniques vary greatly depending on the number of years they have lived. A dark beast can live up to 300 years, provided, of course, it doesn't encounter any problems along its way.
In the current case, this dark beast was of the third rank, the lowest, but despite its low rank, it should not be underestimated. It could fight against two Glow-ranked Pupils, heavily trained.
The dark beast resembled a huge mammoth with three horns and bristling fur. Suddenly, it roared, producing a huge, loud, yet very concentrated sound that made the sky rumble and the earth tremble.
Debris began to fly in all directions, the shattered houses flew away, and the ground started to crack. Alpha and the two other Pupils put their arms in front of them to contain the wind that was coming at a blinding speed.
Glimmers of darkness, began to rise from the ground, a huge and immaterial wave engulfing half of the city in darkness.
"Don't let those shadows touch you, Aiden," Alpha said.
"Who are you to tell me that? Hmpf, I've got it all planned," he said, tapping his nose and smiling to the side.
Aiden turned to the second Pupil, Haco, who pulled out a metallic golden relic. A golden glow emanated from it, moving in sync with the movements of the relic.
"Uuh... Aiden, I don't think she's..." said Haco.
"Shut up, let me do this, watch this," Aiden replied, while activating the golden glow of the relic.
The black wave arrived suddenly in front of Alpha, Aiden, and Haco. Aiden used the relic; it was a golden relic of time. It could restrict time for a brief moment and over a small range.
"The idiot..." Alpha muttered to himself.
Suddenly, the black wave engulfed Alpha, Aiden, and Haco.
