Hazel had just gotten up to work on some spells. She had just finished speaking with Harry and hearing about his arrival to Hogwarts.
When Harry finally got his acceptance letter her mom told her that she could tell him who she was. It was hard. Crazy hard. He had looked at her blankly for a long time and then he wanted to storm away.
She was in control of the dreamscape so she allowed him to storm off through three different landscapes but she did not allow him to leave the dream.
In the end she was crying and promising and he was once again looking blankly, He finally tried to apologize for his anger but she wouldn't let him. She told him she would have done the same if not worse and she said that he was entitled to his anger. She still begged him not to put her out of his life. He laughed at the notion and her heart had finally felt at ease again.
He had told her about his trip to Diagon Alley and how everyone stared at him. She had already told him about what had happened to them when they were babies and who did it. He had only half believed her, but then he remembered his experiences in Diagon Alley.
He still does not really understand the whole different dimension thing and kept asking if she had met another version of him there.
After their talk she couldn't sleep so she got up and went straight to her desk. She half wanted to work on a new spell and she half wanted to continue worrying about Harry. One of her best friends at Star Academy was Rosa Ambrose and she was a fatetress. She had already asked her to see how hard things would be for Harry. She did say they would be hard but she also said that he would have good friends. True friends.
This helped her to relax a bit but she was still worried. She tried to explain things as much as she could but they were in two different dimensions and he had gone to Diagon Alley as soon as he got his letter because their family remained world class jerks.
She couldn't focus and decided to do a dream walk by herself. She laid back down in bed and almost immediately stepped out on the dreamscape. When she first began dream walking she had to meditate for almost an hour and now she didn't need meditation to walk onto the dreamscape herself or to pull someone there with her.
She thought about Hogwarts' sorting hat. A hat on your head discussing your options seemed interesting. They had a sorting tree at Star Academy and there was no discussion. A leaf found you and whatever it said that was your house.
Also Star Academy had five houses and not due to the number of founding members but to pay homage to the pentagram. There houses were:
Tiron
Sof
Xason
Samon
Pillar
She was in house Pillar. Two of her best friends were as well, with the last one being in House Tiron.
She could only wait to see what other differences there would be. Of course she knew some because her mom was the assistant headmistress but it was different to have your brother tell you something. Like it was more authentic or true.
She wanted to face-palm. Did she just call her mom a liar?
She felt a tug, then another, and another. She rolled her eyes as she realized Rosa must have been watching her and knew she returned only to almost immediately enter the dreamscape again. She pulled all of her friends onto the dreamscape.
As usual Michael's eyes were full of wonder and joy as he looked around the dreamscape. It always reminded her of the wonder of this place. She had been here so much it was home to her now. It wasn't that it had no wonder anymore it was more like she had begun taking it for granted.
"What's going on Hazel? We can not have you depressed on us."
"I am not depressed I am just worried about Harry and I can't focus. And stop constantly reading my fate!"
All three of them came to attention. Neither had ever been to a different dimension and they were always ready to hear anything about any dimension other than their own of course.
"Is he okay?"
"So far. That is the point. He has been tossed into a world he knows nothing about. How will he navigate."
"He will be alright. He has you and he has, or will have some really good friends."
"I think he may have already found one. He told me about a Ron that he met on the train today."
"So. He is really your brother?"
Everyone looked over at Trace as one.
"What?! Is that not a legitimate question? I mean even we in Tan have heard of Harry Potter and, sorry but you never hear about the sister Hazel."
That was very true. So true in fact that Hazel still thought it a possibility. Then she thought about how her parents would not lie when asked direct questions and then she had to contend with what she actually remembered as a baby.
She ran through those memories over and over again and she never heard her biological parents' names.
The dreamscape was peaceful tonight without her help which meant there were very few nightmares or conflict dreams. They had stopped stopped walking again because Michael always had to investigate when he came to the dreamscape.
Rosa looked to Hazel. "So why did you tell him that he is your brother if you have doubts?"
"Because I am a child Rosa. I don't want things to change. But I am also an intelligent witch so I know what I know is true and Harry Potter is my brother. I guess it is hard to explain."
"No you explained it pretty well."
Later that night they all returned to their bodies and Rosa used their communication crystal to talk to the boys for a while and Hazel went to sleep.
Hazel being friends with anyone was rather odd. Maybe it made sense that she and Michael were friends. They had met when they were both three and new to the academy.
It was an odd thing. Students can arrive to the academy how ever they please. Walking, swimming, dimensional door, and magical transports from flying oddities to underwater cities.
Hazel had used a dimensional door. Her dad's dimensional door and Michael arrived aboard one of the underwater mobile ports that transported entities and monitored the water ways.
They met even before the sorting and had been inseparable ever sense. Well that was until Rosa and Trace arrived when they were all five years old. Rosa had succubus magics running through her manna veins and males of any species had no chance when it came to withstanding her.
Ever sense they met her, both Michael and Trace were her collateral damage. When Hazel accepted the situation and decided to remain singular Rosa came to her and said that she had to be a part of the group because Michael was sad without her.
Hazel had just looked at her and finally nodded once and left to do something on her own.
And that was their relationship. Michael and Trace always knowing exactly where Rosa is and the three of them always looking for Hazel.
The full name of Hazel's school was The Star Academy of Magical Practices. The campus was a large sprawling open air complex that resembled ancient Greek and Roman architecture. In the center of the vast complex were the living quarters for the five houses.
The house names were to honor prestigious persons in magic and five were chosen to represent the pentagram. Truly a rather minor symbol in magic but powerful when thinking about foundation and building a power base.
In other words the pentagram was not important in casting or rituals or rites but if someone were to gather four people and create a power base the power of five was an ultimate power because it was a sealing and defensible formation.
The Star Houses are:
Tiron house was named after Mage Tiron the great. The House colors are purple and gold. Most chosen to Tiron house were warriors, bold, cunning, and fearless.
Sof house was named after the great fatetress Mistress Sof. Its colors are red and black and people chosen for this house are generally intelligent, creative, and explorers.
Xason House was named after Xason the Marvelous. Its colors are yellow and white. And people chosen to this house were generally cunning, skilled, fearless, and adventurous.
Samon house was named after Samon the shape-shifter. House colors are white and blue and people chosen to this house are generally athletic, skilled and adventurous.
Pillar house was named after the great witch Pillar. House colors are turquoise and grey and people chosen to this house were usually intelligent inquisitive and spontaneous.
The five houses were positioned within the center of the complex in a pentagram. Entering the houses was mundane but entering the pentagram or even the square was pure magic.
In order to reach the square you had to be recognized by the tree sentinel that stood guard at the only entrance. As soon as the sorting tree sorted a student the tree sentinel knew that student and recognized them as a part of the school.
To enter the pentagram you could only enter at one of the five corners and your heart had to be pure and free of malice. Many students had been locked out of the pentagram because they had malice in their heart for another student or even an assignment. Because of this many wanted this stipulation taken away or somehow altered so certain frustration or malice could be over looked.
Because the academy was so huge there were many teleportation pads around the campus. These pads were like elevators. You had to clearly state where you wanted to go or you had to activate the holographic academy map and the person could point to where they wanted to go.
Star academy is known throughout the magical community for producing the best oracles, battle mages, and traveler witches and wizards.
Hazel felt lucky to attend because she decided to focus on traveler magics. But some days when she was homesick or wanted to see her mother she truly longed to attend Hogwarts and study defense against the dark arts or transfiguration with her mother.
