Chapter 11 - Under the moonlight

As they strolled through the quiet streets, the night air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the sound of crickets chirping. The road seemed empty as if every human decided to retire home early, leaving the two lovebirds to enjoy the moment.

Emily felt peace and contentment, and she was ready to take any step, face any challenges that may come with it

"Tell me about your past relationships", Ryan asked. "Has never been good", Emily sighed. "Let me say I've been so unlucky with relationships as they all leave making excuses that I love my work more than them as I give more attention to my work".

Ryan chuckled " that isn't enough excuse to leave huh, I guess they were being ignorant or probably they were not interested too cos that shouldn't be enough reason to call a relationship a quit yunno"

"I couldn't blame them yunno", Emily replied almost immediately. "I've always taken my work as my first priority giving it my maximum time and attention including during weekends and they couldn't fit in with that, they were just not okay with it".

"Okay, okay...but I guess it's their loss and my gain then", Ryan said, with his cheek going upward showing a grin.

Emily hit his shoulder laughing at his statement. "Over to you then, tell me about your past relationships, how did they go"?

"Never had any serious relationship as most of them just want to flirt around cos of the cash and nothing else" Ryan said with a stern face.

"Okay, I think it's relatable" Emily said after a long pause. It's quite understandable that some girls would wanna come around and enjoy for the moment.

Emily leaned toward Ryan, her head on his shoulder, and they walked in comfortable silence. The only sound was the soft rustling of leaves and the distant hum of crickets. The distant hums sounded as melodies in their ears.

As they strolled, Ryan wrapped his arm around Emily, pulling her closer. Emily felt a sense of security and comfort in his embrace, and she needed no one to tell her that she was at home - all assurance she needed was present.

After a while, Ryan spoke up, his voice low and gentle. "I'm really glad we're doing this, Emily," he said. "I feel like we're finally connecting and I don't regret the moment."

Emily smiled, her eyes closed, and she nodded in agreement. "Me too," she whispered.

As they walked, Emily's thoughts started to wander, thinking about the future and what it might hold for them. She imagined them together, exploring new places, trying new things, and building a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. At the same time, her thought drifted back to Ryan's family - "will she be accepted or rejected", "what if she didn't meet the expectations of his family or what if Ryan loses interest in her tomorrow", "what's if these were part of his tricks"?

Ryan seemed to sense her distant gaze and gently squeezed her shoulder. "Hey, where are you?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle.

Emily smiled, feeling a little embarrassed. "Just thinking about the future," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Ryan's eyes locked onto hers, and he smiled. "I've been thinking about that too," he said. "I think we have a lot of possibilities ahead of us."

Emily's thoughts started to swirl with doubts and uncertainties, and she looked up at Ryan with a questioning gaze. "What if it doesn't work out?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

Ryan's expression turned understanding, and he pulled Emily closer. "We'll face it together," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "We'll communicate, we'll work through our problems, and we'll support each other." "I'm not leaving you in this alone", he assured her

Emily's doubts didn't disappear, but she felt a sense of reassurance wash over her. She knew that Ryan was committed to making their relationship work.

Emily nodded, feeling much better. "Thank you, Ryan," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "This means a lot to me, I needed the assurance".

Ryan smiled and he pulled Emily into a gentle hug. "I'm always here for you," he whispered, his lips brushing against her ear.

As they hugged, Emily felt relieved and revived. She knew that she was in the right place – in Ryan's arms and she wasn't going to take chances.

Emily pulled back, looking up at Ryan with a smile. "I love you," she said, her voice filled with emotion coming from the deepest part of her

Ryan's face lit up with a radiant smile, and he cupped Emily's face in his hands. "I love you too," he whispered, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, gentle kiss.

As they kissed, Emily felt like she was melting into Ryan's arms, like nothing else mattered except for this moment, right here, right now.

The moon stood still above them shining brighter than it has ever been.

Emily deepened the kiss, feeling a sense of passion and desire wash over her. Ryan's arms wrapped around her, pulling her closer as their lips moved in perfect sync.

The world around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the moment, with their breaths giving out a sweet harmony. .

As they kissed, Ryan's hands began to explore Emily's body, making her heart to pump blood faster than usual. Emily's heart raced with excitement, and she knew that she wanted more.

Emily pulled back, looking up at Ryan with a mischievous grin. "Let's take this somewhere more private," she said, her voice husky with desire.

Ryan's eyes sparkled with excitement, and he nodded, taking Emily's hand in his. "My place is just a block away," he whispered, his lips brushing against her ear.

Emily swallowed hard as she nodded, and they quickly made their way to Ryan's apartment.

The tension between them was ignited, and Emily could feel the excitement building inside her.
