We walked into a large, dimly lit bedroom, laughing and jubilating. As we entered the room we tossed away our graduation gowns and caps onto the floor like they were yesterday's trash.
As I pushed Mira unto the bed. She fell on the silky soft linen covering laying on the soft cozy mattress, her long brown silky hair scattering all over the bed cover.
Her eyes widened, revealing slight shock towards the situation. She spoke in a quiet voice, confused, "Hey."
I got on the bed as well, kneeling over her as I used my fingers to gently brush off the strands which had found their way to her face.
She looked up at me, frowning but not angry, "Hey, don't just pounce on me like that next time", her beautiful blue eyes giving me the signal to start the session.
I returned the signal by flashing a mischievous smile at her, "Are you ready?"
With her gaze fixed on me, she spoke, her tone firm, "Come on, you know what my answer is, no need to make it more embarrassing than it already is." She shifted her gaze away from me and to the side, speaking in a softer, gentle and more vulnerable tone, "Start already."
My smile only grew into a grin at her sudden change in demeanor, I was proud, only I got to see her delicate side, and I always relished it. "You don't need to be flustered, Mira, it's just the two of us here."
I proceeded to holding the side of her face, the touch sending a jolt of electricity through her body, she closed her eyes in anticipation as she remained perfectly still.
I drew in closer, moving towards her face for a kiss, the excitement intoxicating. At last my patient lips met hers, the soft warm touch caused me to let loose and lose some of my self control.
I held her tight, and she didn't hesitate to do the same.
From our lips wrapping around each other, it progressed to a dancing contest in our mouths, and she was winning, her tongue dancing around mine so gracefully, yet so aggressively.
I had to retaliate. I traced my fingers along every curve I could reach, my movements sensual and intentional.
She let out a short moan. "Damian... when you touch me like that..." Mira said in a soft, seductive tone, her voice laced with tension like she was going to explode. With her heart racing with anticipation, she paused. "Damian, you know that you were always there for me, right?" She asked suddenly.
I paused the motion of my hands for a moment. "That's right."
She continued, her tone laced with sincerity, "I don't think I ever said 'thank you' enough, all those times I got bullied, and you rescued me, again and again. I'm really grateful and lucky to have you as my boyfriend."
My eyes widened in suprise, not that I was shocked, but I was taken aback by what she said, a grin played across my lips. "And this is why I'm also grateful and lucky to have you as a girlfriend."
I pulled in for another passionate kiss, a surge of electricity coursed through my body, and before we knew it, we were both fully engrossed in the kiss, just as before.
The session went on for about another forty-five minutes until we were satisfied. I held Mira close to me, and she tucked herself into my warm embrace.
A few months later, a special day had finally come, it was our one year anniversary. I had already dressed up and gotten the usual bouquet of flowers, I did feel it was a little cliché, but I wanted to make it as romantic as possible. Our houses weren't to far apart from each other so I walked there, as I did my mind was restless, different thoughts going through my mind, "Will she like it?", "Is the bouquet too much?", "What will I even say once I get there?"
Before the two of us met, Mira was but a feeble girl who was a constant victim of bully. Everyday I saw her toned skin designed with the purplish red colour of bruises. She always wore clothes which could cover her exposed skin to hide them, but that tactic couldn't fool me.
I eventually did my findings and realised that she was constantly beaten up, stolen from, pranked and degraded by some other girls.
I won't say what I did to those girls for now, but let's just say from that day on, I became Mira's saviour-, her guardian angel in human skin.
I eventually arrived at Mira's house, as I approached the front door I beamed with anticipation. I knocked on the front door, waiting expectantly for her response.
"It's open!" She replied.
I opened the door and walked in, "Hey, Mimi." That was my pet name for her.
She was sitting on her couch, watching TV. She moved her gaze away from the screen and to my direction. Her face twisted in confusion, "Oh Damian?, hey, why didn't you tell me you were coming?"
A grin played across my lips. "I wanted to make it a surprise."
"A suprise?" She asked as she arose from the couch, removing her attention from the TV screen. She added , "What's the occasion?"
My grin faltered for a moment, it got replaced with a forced smile. "It's our one year anniversary, did you forget?"
She turned away from me, returning to the TV, her body language and tone, carefree and unconcerned, "Oh, right, I've already invited someone over to celebrate with us."
My forced smile dropped to a frown, confusion etched on my face. "Wait a minute." I walked up to her and stood in front of her, my tone, firm but revealing slight anger, "What do you mean you invited someone to our anniversary?," Emphasis being made on 'our'.
At that moment the there was a knock on the door.
The moment she heard the sharp knock on the door, her eyes lit up, "That must be him." She walked pass me, leaving presence as well as the conversation we were having.
She ran to the door and opened it in anticipation and excitement. The moment she saw the person at the door, she exclaimed in bliss, "Alex!". The guest was a tall brown haired jock, the smiles they exchanged revealed familiarity. I took a quick guess, "Who the hell is that?, must be some family friend of hers, maybe,"
But the really shocking part happened when they both instantly shared a kiss.
"Uhm...Huh?" My eyes widened in shock, my heart dropped, and my mouth carelessly hung open.
The stranger, Alex, looked over Mira's shoulder, his gaze fixing onto me, he squeezed his face a little. "Babe, who's that guy?"
Mira turned around, her eyes scanning me from head to toe like she was sizing me up. "Babe, no need to get pissed, he's just the high school bodyguard I told you about."
The moment those words proceeded from her mouth I burst out in anger, "What the hell are you saying?!," I hit my palms on my chest with purpose, "I'm your boyfriend!"
She grinned and chuckled, raising an eyebrow, "You?, really?, since when? I only needed you to keep me safe throughout our time in school, that's all." She then held Alex closer to her. "Did you really think you were special enough to call yourself my boyfriend?"
"What?" My voice reduced to a whisper, my hands clenching onto and squeezing the bouquet which had no longer had purpose. "So all this time, after all the things she said to me, after all the moments we shared together,... She was using me." I thought to myself, my breath becoming heavy and uncontrolled, my heart pounding in my chest like it wanted to jump out.
I left the house in a hast, I didn't know how much longer I could hold in my tears. "This girl...has just made the biggest mistake in her life." My words bitter and filled with resentment.
