Cherreads

Chapter 22 - A Bento Box Full of Love

Cheng Anya forced a smile. "President Ye, that's a personal matter. No comment."

Young Master Ye crossed his arms, his deep eyes sweeping over her face, then slowly drifting downward—landing on her lunchbox. Ning Ning had made her heart-shaped chicken wings today; two perfectly placed wings formed a sweet little heart.

They were paired with stir-fried asparagus and meat, the vibrant green laced with a touch of red chili. Right in the center of the heart, a tiny red cherry tomato had been placed as a charming garnish.

It really was, without a doubt, a love-filled bento box.

Ye Chen curled his lips into a teasing, devil-may-care smile, his gaze mischievous and dangerously flirtatious as he stared at Cheng Anya. She followed his line of sight—and for once, her face turned red, her heart pounding wildly like a startled deer.

Oh my god!

Son, your overly dramatic plotlines are coming back to haunt me—this psycho is totally misunderstanding everything!

"Is the company cafeteria food that bad?" he asked coolly.

"I'm used to his cooking," she replied.

His? Ye Chen's brows knitted slightly. He narrowed his eyes with a tone that couldn't quite be called angry, but definitely... off. "He's a man?"

Cheng Anya coughed awkwardly and nodded. Why isn't this psycho off eating lunch like a normal person? Look at all this delicious food—I'm starving here, even if he isn't!

Ye Chen's smirk grew colder. Yang Zekun cooks for this woman? Unbelievable. Trying to flaunt their intimacy now? What, afraid no one knows how close they are?

"Looks delicious," Ye Chen said breezily.

Cheng Anya twitched. What does he mean by that? With Ye Chen, no one could predict what he was thinking, and she was still puzzling it over when—

He reached out and proved his point with action.

He gracefully picked up the lunchbox. One flick of the fork, and the chicken wing was in his mouth.

The first bite—then asparagus. Damn, it really was delicious. This bento was top-tier. Simple home-cooking, but packed with flavor.

Cheng Anya gaped. This time she truly felt like she was emotionally wrecked. It took her a moment to react.

What the hell?! He dared to steal my lunch?!

"President, what are you doing?"

"Eating," he replied flatly.

"That's my bento!"

Stay calm. Stay calm. Rage is a demon. Rage is a demon...

"I'm hungry." So good... Ye Chen thought. Yang Zekun, your cooking skills are ridiculous. A man this perfect—heaven's bound to strike you down one day.

Meanwhile, far away in elementary school, Ning Ning sneezed elegantly in class.

As Ye Chen continued eating, he noticed Cheng Anya glaring at him, eyes practically spitting fire, as if she wanted to devour him whole. He paused for a second, raised a brow, and calmly took another bite of the chicken wing.

Then, with supreme elegance, he stood up, bento in hand, and glided into his office—leaving Cheng Anya in the hallway, utterly dumbfounded.

Ye Chen's way of getting jealous is just too adorable! (⊙_⊙)…
