Not long after Felicia left, several men in black suits approached Captain George Stacy.
"FBI? You're here to take Walter Hardy?" George asked, puzzled after confirming their credentials. "Isn't this outside your jurisdiction?"
"We have the necessary clearance and file authority," one of the agents replied, his voice clipped and formal. "Chief Stacy, we need to move quickly."
George narrowed his eyes. "I'll need to verify this first."
He wasn't going to hand over a suspect that easily—not after all the trouble it took to apprehend him.
But before he could act—
"Someone's breaking into the holding cells!"
A panicked officer shouted down the hallway, followed by loud crashes and shouting.
Before George could even react, the agents in black suits had already rushed toward the commotion.

Jessica smirked. "Uh-huh. You were reading the clouds, maybe."
"We haven't seen each other for a day, and you're already in full romantic withdrawal," she teased, grinning.

"Mm-hmm…" Jessica tapped her lips dramatically, gazing upward like she was recalling a memory.

Ever since she'd caught Gwen in a rather tender moment, Jessica never let her live it down.
"You still wanna go there!?" Gwen flushed, her voice rising.
"You're this close to becoming a full-on drama queen! You—" Gwen jabbed a finger. "You seduced your own brother! I haven't even started scolding you for that!"

Trying to change the subject, she quickly showed Gwen her phone.
"Skye just sent this—Gwen, your dad's precinct got attacked!"

Gwen blinked, snatching the phone to see for herself.
On the screen, a live broadcast showed chaos at the police station. A strange man with four mechanical tentacles rampaged through the building, sending officers flying.
The tentacles were lightning-fast and shot out powerful rays, tearing through anything in their path.
Some men in black suits managed to hold him back using high-tech gear, but it clearly wouldn't last.
"A supervillain actually dared to attack a police station..."
Gwen clenched her teeth, her eyes narrowing. "That's insane. I have to go help—my dad might be in danger!"
Without another word, she sprinted toward the locker room to change.
"Wait, Gwen!" Jessica chased after her. "Skye said Ethan had someone build new equipment for us. It's back at the club—we need to grab it!"
"Equipment?" Gwen didn't hesitate. "Perfect. Let's go!"
Clearly, she trusted Ethan Lee completely.
"Wait! My schoolbag!" Jessica called out behind her.
"Okay, Chapter 54: Father Is Arrested, Felicia's Troubles, stop yelling."
Gwen raised her wrist without even looking back, shot a line of spider silk, and yanked Jessica's black backpack straight into her hand.
Being a superhero had made her ridiculously efficient.
"Nice!" Jessica laughed as she caught the bag. "That was awesome!"
