Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Collection

"What a ridiculous bunch of geese! They truly think they can be my equal."

On the top floor of Fisk Tower, Kingpin opened his bloodied mouth and chewed and swallowed the steak, bones and all.

Bullseye, standing nearby, watched Kingpin's body grow larger and larger, and spoke cautiously:

"Wesley went to negotiate with them and never returned. I presume he was..."

"Lester! Don't you think something is seriously amiss here?"

Kingpin paused, then continued in his deep voice:

"They all know my strength, yet they still dare to provoke me!"

"What do you mean...?" Bullseye reacted, "A trap?!"

"Yes, that's the only possibility. Someone is targeting us, or rather... the 'Legacy of God'!"

Kingpin had climbed to his position from nothing, possessing the wisdom to see through the essence of things.

When Bullseye heard "Legacy of God," he immediately asked, "Should we notify the Oracle?"

"No need. If I can't even resolve such a minor matter, then I don't deserve to be in power!"

Though he knew Kingpin was right, Bullseye couldn't help but say, "What if..."

"Nothing will happen!" Kingpin interrupted, a ferocious grin spreading across his face. "I can handle everything."

Unable to persuade Kingpin, Bullseye lowered his head in obedience.

Ah Fu walked out of the antique shop and wandered the busy street, as if waiting for something.

Finally, in the evening, he received a call from Daredevil, Matt Murdock.

As soon as the call connected, Matt's slightly urgent voice came through: "Are you free now?"

"I found clues about Kingpin and the 'Legacy of God'; I might need you to confirm them."

Ah Fu, aware of the plan, replied with feigned surprise and anxiety:

"You found it so quickly?! Where is it? I'll be there immediately."

Hearing the anxiety in Ah Fu's tone, Matt added, "Don't worry, we've just found a clue!"

"We'll discuss it in detail when we meet. It's difficult to explain over the phone."

Ah Fu replied, "Okay, tell me where to meet, and I'll head over."

Matt gave him the location, and Ah Fu immediately set off.

As a warrior, Ah Fu neither drove nor took a car, but ran to the agreed location.

Upon arriving, he saw a man wearing sunglasses and leaning on a blind cane by the roadside.

Seeing Daredevil openly revealing his identity, Ah Fu was initially surprised, then approached and said, "Sorry, I kept you waiting!"

Matt nodded: "It's alright, I just arrived too!"

"Next, we're meeting someone you know."

At that moment, a few car horns drew their attention.

Matt pointed to a nearby battered Ford that had changed hands numerous times, and said:

"She's waiting there. Let's get in the car and talk about it in detail!"

Matt walked towards the dilapidated car, his blindness undetectable.

Ah Fu glimpsed the driver through the windshield and followed.

As they approached, the car window rolled down, and a beautiful black-haired woman leaned out:

"I spent a lot of money buying a car for your sake. Remember to reimburse me."

"Jessica?!" Ah Fu, having recognized her, feigned surprise.

Jessica rolled her eyes, "Your acting is terrible!"

"You gave me Murdock's law firm's business card, expecting me to find him, right?"

"Now you're pretending you know nothing! And poorly at that!"

"I just didn't expect you to reveal your identities so quickly."

"You know, even though I rescued him, he didn't directly tell me his true identity."

Ah Fu glanced at Matt, who was about to open the car door.

"It must be a coincidence!" Jessica scratched her head, embarrassed. "When I went to find him, I saw him running home in all black."

"I thought he was a thief, so I confronted him!"

"We stopped when you mentioned your name."

"Stop chatting and let's go!" Matt said, putting away his cane and getting into the car.

Ah Fu nodded, opened the passenger door, and got in.

As the car drove, Matt explained: "I received accurate information!"

"Wesley, Kingpin's confidant, was kidnapped by the Goose Country gang, who demanded to speak with Kingpin."

Hearing Matt's news, Jessica said, "It's clearly a trap."

"Kingpin isn't stupid enough to walk into it!"

Matt shook his head, "It's not about stupidity, but necessity."

"As the king of the underworld, he can't ignore his kidnapped confidant."

"It would severely damage his reputation, especially now, during his gang consolidation. He has no choice!"

He then showed a video of Kingpin transforming into a giant, withstanding bullets, and lifting the floor to block rockets.

Combining this with his clues, he suggested Kingpin had integrated the "Legacy of God."

Ah Fu, knowing the truth, agreed with Matt's speculation, while Jessica nodded in confusion.

Soon, under Matt's guidance, the car stopped outside a factory near the suburbs.

He tilted his head, sensing the surroundings.

Jessica was about to ask what to do next, but Ah Fu silenced her with a shake of his head.

"They haven't arrived yet, but I sense someone setting up something inside the factory!"

After hearing Daredevil's report, Ah Fu shifted in the car, preparing for combat.

"Wait… wait a minute!"

Jessica stared at Matt, who was removing his suit jacket, confused. Finally, she asked, "How did you know what's happening in the factory?"

"Also, no offense, but are you really blind?"

Despite fighting alongside him, the "fists defeating hearts" theory didn't convince her.

In Jessica's opinion, Matt was just a blind pretender.

After all, she had never seen a blind person give driving directions or "do justice" at night.

Daredevil, whose reputation was still unknown, could only explain his heightened senses, avoiding internal conflict before the battle.
