AWARENESS AND PERCEPTION OF THE MAGNA CARTA OF FILIPINO SEAFARERS IMPACT TO THE PMMS MARITIME STUDENTS

This study is important as it evaluates the awareness and perception of PMMS maritime students regarding the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers (R.A. 12021). The law is essential for protecting the rights of Filipino seafarers, and understanding students' perceptions helps identify knowledge gaps. The study aims to foster awareness about seafarers' rights, contributing to the development of well-informed and responsible future seafarers, advocating for better protection and support in the maritime sector.

Here are the titles of Chapters 1-5:

Chapter 1: The Problem and Its Background

Chapter 2: Review of Related Literature and Studies

Chapter 3: Research Methodology

Chapter 4: Presentation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Data

Chapter 5: Summary, Conclusions, and Recommendations

The main objective of the study is to determine the level of awareness and perception of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers (R.A. 12021) and its impact on the PMMS maritime students..

Hypotheses of the Study:

Ho: There is NO significant relationship between the respondents' general awareness and understanding of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers and their assessment of its impact on maritime students.

Ho: There is NO significant relationship between the respondents' perceptions of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers and their assessment of its impact on maritime students.

Kind of Hypotheses Used in the Study:

The study uses null hypotheses (Ho). These hypotheses propose that there is no significant relationship between the respondents' awareness and understanding of the Magna Carta and their assessment of its impact, as well as between their perceptions of the Magna Carta and their assessment of its impact.

4. Specific Problems to be Answered in the Statement of the Problem (SOP):

The specific problems addressed in the study are:

What is the profile of the respondents in terms of:

Age

Gender

Academic level?

What is the level of awareness and understanding of the respondents regarding the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers?

What is the perception of the respondents regarding the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers?

To what extent do the respondents assess the impact of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers on maritime students?

Is there a significant relationship between respondents' awareness and understanding of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers and their assessment of its impact on maritime students?

Is there a significant relationship between respondents' perceptions of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers and their assessment of its impact on maritime students?

5. Research Framework Used in the Study:

The research framework used in the study is focused on awareness and perception as independent variables, and their relationship to the impact of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers on maritime students, which is the dependent variable.

Awareness refers to the respondents' familiarity and understanding of the Magna Carta and its provisions.

Perception pertains to the respondents' subjective evaluation or assessment of the Magna Carta's impact.

The study evaluates how these factors (awareness and perception) affect various aspects of the Magna Carta's influence on maritime students, such as inspiring students to pursue maritime careers, enhancing their confidence in government support, improving the overall reputation of Filipino seafarers, and motivating academic excellence.

This framework helps understand how students' awareness and perceptions shape the effectiveness and relevance of the Magna Carta in their education and career choices.

What is Figure 1 of the Study?

Figure 1 of the study is a Research Paradigm. It visually represents the flow and relationship between the independent and dependent variables in the research. The paradigm helps illustrate how awareness and perception of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers (R.A. 12021) influence the impact of the law on maritime students, and how these factors are assessed.

Explain the Research Paradigm of the Study:

The research paradigm in this study is a conceptual framework that depicts how various factors influence the overall impact of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers on maritime students.

Independent Variables:

Awareness: The level of knowledge or familiarity the students have regarding the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers (R.A. 12021).

Perception: How the students view and interpret the Magna Carta, particularly its relevance and potential impact on their education, career, and the welfare of Filipino seafarers.

Dependent Variable:

Impact: The overall effect of the Magna Carta on the students' motivation, education, career aspirations, and their understanding of the rights of seafarers. The study looks at how these independent variables (awareness and perception) shape the students' assessment of the Magna Carta's influence on their educational experience and career.

What Does the Arrow Signify in Figure 1 of the Study?

In Figure 1, the arrow signifies the relationship or influence between the independent variables (awareness and perception) and the dependent variable (impact). It indicates that the students' level of awareness and perception of the Magna Carta directly affects how they assess the impact of the law on their education and professional future. Essentially, it shows how these factors interact and contribute to the students' overall understanding and assessment of the law's effect on their lives and careers.

State the Scope of the Study:

The scope of the study is limited to determining the level of awareness and perception of the NJ2C2 students of the Philippine Merchant Marine School (PMMS) regarding the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers (R.A. 12021) and its impacts. It specifically focuses on these students' knowledge and opinions on the Magna Carta's implications on their education, career, and the rights of Filipino seafarers. The study will not extend to students from other maritime institutions or those outside the PMMS NJ2C2 batch.

State the Limitation of the Study:

The limitation of the study is that it is confined to the NJ2C2 students of Philippine Merchant Marine School (PMMS). The research will not cover students from other courses, other years, or from different institutions. Additionally, the study will not extend to students who are not familiar with the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers. The research is therefore limited to the specific group of PMMS maritime students who are knowledgeable about the law.
