Alfie's POV ~
The reaction was immediate. He coughed.....loud and violent...like someone who had choked on air.
"Hey, hey! Sorry.....sorry!" I exclaimed, moving to his side in an instant. I rubbed his back in smooth, gentle circles, trying to calm him.
The pillow he'd been using to shield himself had flown off in the commotion. Even if he wanted to lie now, the truth was right there, plain as day.
After what felt like an eternity, he finally settled, his breathing slowing. His face was burning....so red I could feel the heat radiating off his skin. Without a word, he snatched the pillow and covered himself again, avoiding my gaze.
Finally, he spoke.
"Men go through… hardness… in the day and night, right?"
He looked at me then....really looked. His gaze locked with mine, though he seemed ready to turn away again. I grabbed his chin gently, stopping him, holding his eyes with mine.
Those eyes. So damn innocent cute eyes.
And those lips... don't get me started.
