"You must be here for the interview," the receptionist asked the beautiful lady that stood before her.
"Yes, I am," she replied hastily.
"Take the elevator to the seventh floor, and you will find the CEO's office on your left," the receptionist said with a tender smile on her face, watching as the job applicant made her way to the elevator majestically.
Naomi was tense as she stared at her reflection. She couldn't afford to lose this opportunity; it was her last hope. God knows how many rejections she had faced over the past few months. All the bosses she met always found one reason to reject what she considered a perfect resume. Upon reaching the seventh floor, her heart raced with fear, scared of what the outcome of the interview would be. With each step she took, her fears grew stronger.
"You can do this, I believe in you. Mom needs us," she spoke out loud, reassuring herself that the outcome would be different. But as she stepped close to the metallic, bulletproof door, her heart froze for a few seconds.
"Go harder, baby, don't stop." She could hear sounds coming from the office. She drew closer and realized the door was halfway closed.
She could hardly believe her ears, and as she leaned closer, the moans grew louder. She couldn't fathom if it was the right office, but it had a tag above the door stating, "The CEO's Office."
"Make me cum, baby. I want all of you inside me," the unknown lady said with intense pleasure as her voice grew louder. With sheer curiosity, Naomi pushed the door to witness what felt like a catastrophic scene.
They were deeply engulfed in an intense sexual act, and the CEO kept fondling the beautiful lady's breasts as he thrust his hardened rod deep into her honey pot. Her presence was hardly noticed as they continued their sinful act. The CEO kissed her and held her tight to his chest while she gave him the ride of his life in his office chair.
Naomi couldn't believe the outrageous scene that played before her eyes. She was frozen as she watched mindlessly. In the blink of an eye, she closed the door hard and shut her eyes, trying to convince herself that what she had seen wasn't real. The moans stopped at once; they had become aware of an unknown presence. Naomi took some steps away from the door and held her files tightly while waiting for someone to walk out.
The lady soon walked out, and their eyes met. The hatred that was boldly written all over the mistress's face sent chills down Naomi's spine.
"Learn to knock, you fool!" the mistress cursed and left at once.
Naomi watched as she made her way to the elevator, looking pissed. She had obviously ruined what appeared to be a perfect moment with the CEO, but she couldn't be blamed for the ungodly act. Naomi took a deep breath and knocked on the strong metallic door, having obviously taken the mistress's harsh advice.
"Come in," a husky voice called out to her. Her heart raced a thousand miles as she slowly opened the door. But upon entering, her jaw dropped as her past flashed before her eyes like a movie. She lost her composure and stared mindlessly as if she had seen the angel of death.
The CEO was stunned as he stared deep into her hazel eyes. He slowly clenched his fist, and they both remained silent as different surges of emotions raced through the beautiful office, which had artistic paintings and natural flowers.
"Do you mind taking your seat?" the CEO asked.
Naomi regained consciousness, and her composure slowly returned, but she couldn't fully process what life had just thrown at her.
"This world is truly small, isn't it, Miss Naomi?" the CEO asked, holding a mischievous grin on his handsome face.
"Yes, it is. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir," she greeted with respect.
She refused to allow any form of emotion to cloud her senses because the interview meant the world to her, and her mother's life solely depended on the outcome.
"May I take a look at your CV?" he asked while keeping his eyes on her face and raven-black hair.
He could hardly believe she was the one, the woman he once adored as a goddess and a true angel.
"Why should I employ you, Miss Naomi?" the CEO asked after running through her CV.
"Because I'm qualified for the job, and I have the perfect degree in this field. I may not have years of experience yet, but I'm a good team worker and a loyal employee," she revealed with confidence in her voice.
The CEO smirked and slowly lit up his cigar. He had a mischievous grin on his face as he puffed out smoke like a mafia lord. Naomi felt tense and uneasy by his looks, she could only imagine the wild thoughts that ran through his mind. Staring at the interior of the room, she noticed the different awards he had. They were all stacked close to each other on his bookshelf. He had surely made it big, and no one could compete against him.
"I'm sorry, Naomi, you aren't qualified for the job. You lack the qualities I need," he said without remorse as he assessed her outfit that appeared nothing but cheap.
"Why? Please, I'm fit for this job. What quality am I missing?" Naomi asked with curiosity as her eyes opened wide. She couldn't face another rejection, not at this crucial point.
"You lack loyalty. I can't run a company with disloyal employees. You can leave now," he said with disgust.
"You can't do this to me, David. This is my last hope. Please, for old times' sake, accept my application. My life depends heavily on this job," she confessed as her heart raced with fear.
David smiled on hearing her call his name. She definitely took a trip to the past, and this only made his heart bloom with joy.
"Are you going to force me to give you the job?" he asked with a stern look on his face.
His voice sounded so calm. He was definitely toying with her emotions, and his victim had fully lost the composure she fought hard to maintain. The devil was in her midst, and she couldn't deny his charms over her.
"I'm sorry to have aroused your anger, but my mother is terribly sick, and I have heavy debts on my neck, sir. David, please don't cast me away. Please!" she begged with pain in her voice.
David stared at her beautiful eyes and smiled secretly. His little tricks had brought out her vulnerability. He felt remorseful for her plight. Judging by her poor looks, he knew life had dealt with her mercilessly, but he hid his smile behind a glass of wine that he slowly took a sip from.
"I can't offer you a job in this company. I'm sorry, Naomi," David said without an atom of emotion or remorse in his voice.
Naomi stood up and walked to the door as tears slowly rolled down her cheeks. She sobbed silently, and this only aroused the CEO's evil desire.
"You look beautiful when you cry, Naomi," he said before she could open the door.
She looked back with eyes that had grown heavy with tears. Her emotions had gotten the better of her, making her a perfect tool for the devil's master plan.
"I can offer you a job, but not as my employee. As a maid in my house, you will tend to my needs and those of my little boy," David revealed.
Naomi was shocked to her bones as she stared at him speechlessly. Who knew that the ruthless CEO had a son? Her reality felt like a scam as she stared at his icy blue eyes.
"And why would I ever work as your maid?" she asked angrily and was about to leave when David dashed at her and grabbed her hand tightly.
"Would you throw out a job with a monthly salary of $180k?" David asked.
Naomi paused in her tracks as he slowly freed her from his strong grip. His tricks were working marvelously. Surely, that money would pay off some of her heavy debts and also pay for her mother's pending hospital bills, but it came at a price: working for the devil.
"You have 72 hours to think about my offer. If you do accept, you know where to find me," David said and shoved his cigar into his mouth. At this point, Naomi stood before the devil and the deep blue sea. But where will she fall?
